There Will NEVER Be Another Giga Coaster

- The newest rumor for the next major addition heading to a Cedar Fair park is bigger than we know. Apparently, Knotts Berry Farm is suspected to get a Giga coaster in 2023. Not only that, it's speculated that this ride will be even taller than Fury 325 at Carowinds. The current tallest traditional Giga roller coaster in the world. Now as astonishing as this sounds. I don't think Knotts Berry Farm will be getting a Giga. For obvious reasons involving land and affordability. Will this rumor appear to be true in the coming year or is this concept too outlandish to believe.

Energylandia getting 5 more kiddie coasters made me lol
this aged well
Honestly if Knotts wasn’t landlocked they would’ve gotten a giga before other Cedar Fair parks to be honest since they are the biggest profit maker for cedar fair The land situation was the only thing ever holding Knotts back if they had the room then Cedar Fair would’ve been pouring tons of money into this park
I think Knotts should buy an old shopping center mall ( Westminster or Brea??) and just build a water park from scratch there...then they could use the existing water park land for expansion and new attractions.
@@jfifield20 HMMMMMM🤔
Haha...sure they'll put a gig coaster in, right after they purchase the Buena Park Downtown Mall! 😎😉
That mall is getting pretty dead tho
I was thinking the same thing! I literally was across the street at the mall yesterday thinking, well maybe the mall wants in on this!!
I saw this on scream scape and then saw everyone freaking out about it, knotts couldn’t even get the b&m hyper they wanted, why would anyone think they’ll get a giga
the fact that people think a coaster, a giga one at that, would be anywhere near the knotts hotel is hilarious.
you can hear ghostrider (and the screams) from inside the hotel - imagine a coaster right outside the window of your hotel room.
Disney does it. They have a hotel basically in california adventure😂
I think a smaller hyper similar to Hollywood Dream or even up to the size of Goliath at La Ronde is much more likely. They could make that work, and the need is definitely there. Knott's is Cedar Fair's highest earning park (party due to its year round ops but also attendance) and they would 100% be willing to pour the $$$ into an investment like that. I think their biggest challenges have always been space, feasibility, and noise complaints. Running a coaster along Western Ave is basically impossible with homes right there. And if you get too far from Western, you get closer to the hotel which they also wouldn't want the coaster immediately next to. Just lots and lots of hoops to jump through. Man I'd love to see it though.
Hahahaha. Then the plans are leaked and it’s supposed to be 347 feet lmao
I don't even know how anybody thought Knott's would have the space to put a giga in. 🤦🏻♀️
Yeah, this rumor just didn't make sense. The combo of limited space, expensive space (building through a park not a field), California labor prices, and noise complaints by locals would skyrocket this cost to well past Orion or Fury. I'd say atleast a 40+ million investment, possibly 50M.
Technically possibly, but no where near cost effective.
This didn’t Age well
Actually, Leviathan at Canada’s Wonderland was originally for Knotts.
can you post your sources or evidence? I'd like to see that
@@arctrooper6386 it’s true look it up
KNOTTS IS GETTING A GIGA THIS WAS UNEXPECTED BUT I LOVE IT!!!
Lots of the backstage stuff could be moved. Knotts actually bought a bit more land to the left by the employee parking lot/western entrance. They could move some of it over there now easily
This didn't age well
lets hope so
Yeah there's no way they are getting a giga. It just sounds like bullshit. It's KNOTTS. on a CITY BLOCK. Not even metioning the sound of the ride, there is 0 way this can happen
I see Six Flags getting a B&M giga before Knott’s. It’s wishful thinking, but not practical
Magic Mountain is way overdue for one and I'm sure if they do get one it's going to be the biggest
@@nathanlopez5667 biggest no, the shortest because of how cheap they are yes.
This aged well
@@evanburt2766 not a done deal yet. They likely will attempt to build this, but we’ve seen these before at other parks with other rides.
@@amanor409 true just depends on the neighborhoods which aren’t the best. Us locals call it knotts sketchy farm for a reason. Hopefully it gets built though
😂
Hey I really like this channel good coaster channel just wanted to say that
Never? I mean China, Saudi, and UAE are rich as all hell and they will definitely get one in the future.
😪
Seeing them relocate backstage buildings is not out of the realm of possibility. Disneyland sacrificed a lot for galaxy’s edge and expansions at DCA.
True, cars land eradicated an entire parking lot
I can see more of a Raptor or a blitz…
Omg your silver bullet clips with windseeker in the back rip 😭
Where will Knott’s even put a coster that big the park has no room.
people are saying it'll extend to the parking lot near the hotel. it only takes a second to realize how much of a pipedream that is lol
Honestly it feels like something like Kondaa is a lot more likely
Honestly I feel Energylandia is the way more likelier option for a Giga.
nah, a strata
Unfortunate video
don't worry I have an update for the mourning
I know it would be cool and we can all dream but knotts getting a giga is like if morey's piers added a strata
There will be another Giga. Not at Knott’s, but there will be one
Well this aged liked fine wine........
A Giga at this park would probably be weird
Knots definitely pulls in the attendance to do it but I just can’t see the spade for one.
That’d be insane if they got something like wonder women at magic mountain
i honestly thought the theorisers were really dumb bc where would they put it
Hey, at least Kennywood has the steel curtain
While I am skeptical of getting a giga, I think it’s possible if they really want it. I’m not sure about it being record breaking either, but I still have my fingers crossed! A good hyper or wing coaster would be great too, so let’s hope for the best, but realize we may get a more modest investment.
Do you think anyone will ever attempt the "500 foot" coaster? The only place I could see trying it is cedar point, I just don't know if they'll ever actually do it
Not the intro you made as a joke being real
I'm so sorry to say this but not only we may not see a giga coaster coming to this park anytime soon but i 100% feel like Knott's Berry Farm would not get a new coaster anytime soon or ever, why because their no room to put a new coaster or even to expand the park.
or rather they have room but its space reserved for their haunt mazes. itd be a logistical nightmare anyway.
No way in hell they can fit Ghostrider into that tiny landlocked park either!!!
You have no idea if this will not happen....
#1. People assume parks can just tear down buildings to make room for rides. But then what? These buildings aren’t abandoned, they are used for something. Where is the park going to rebuild them? So many people who believe this idea don't even know what those buildings are for, but think they can moved to the other side of a public street and that it'll be totally fine.
#2. I feel like Knott’s has made it abundantly clear that it’s not participating in the coaster wars anymore. Their focus in the last few years has been on offering more in the way of seasonal activities and entertainment. I would feel fairly confident to say that Knott’s doesn’t even WANT a giga.
I almost spit out my drink once you said Knotts Berry Farm was rumored to get it. There is no way it would happen ahahah. They can't even toss out money to repaint Xceletator for goodness sake. >_>
They repainting xcelerator and blueprints were just leaked 😭
There still isn’t Orion isn’t a giga
A chance hyper GTX but that's about it CGA has more room than they do and they need it more although it probably wouldn't be a giga more than likely a hyper
Knott's desperately needs another high capacity ride. Xcellerator, Hangtime, Montezuma's Revenge, Pony Express, Sierra Sidewinder and for some reason Ghostrider all have very low capacity. Only true high capacity ride is Silver Bullet. Whatever gets built hope it is a high capacity B&M.
Haha this didn't age well, but I think you are glad that another giga is actually happening
So, I am saving this video just in case you have to eat your words
Dang you beat me to it. 😂 I'm working on a video with practically the same title but yeah basically, there is absolutely no chance Knott's is getting a giga coaster lol
Ya can’t remove any of the buildings backstage, already bursting at the seams in storage back there. The best thing they could do is ripout accelerator and you literally fit a small land into that space alone. But it’s getting painted because they love breaking, poorly loaded rides.
Pure facts
This didn't age well, lol.
I should not be commenting I guess if I’ve never been to Knots or even California for that matter, but this is really all about having the biggest coaster in the west. I can’t believe the tallest full circuit coaster on the west coast is Goliath. Really skip the giga idea and try for a little more likely option of a hyper. A B&M hyper would definitely slay the very outdated Goliath.
How come this park won't be getting a giga coaster?
Maybe watch the video to find out why
in short, space. unless they take out another ride (or two) itll never happen.
INTAMIN GIGAS ARE BETTER THAN B&M GIGAS.
I know I’m probably in the minority, but I would not want not to get a giga. Sure I would love one on the West Coast but I hope it’s not Knott’s Berry Farm. I absolutely love this park and I just don’t think it would fit. A couple more smaller coasters, a blitz, maybe even a custom raptor, even though it doesn’t look like cedar fair and RMC are on good terms. I’m hoping for a few really good small coasters rather than 1 big one
This isn’t surprising
4:03 :D
dont they have like a 210 foot height limit aswell? and also the fact that it is in a suburban area just adds to the unlikeliness
I think knotts dose have a height limit but it is slightly higher then 300ft.
Well….. how the turn tables
indeed
Gigas are not dead 🤦♂️
HAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHA HOW U FEEL NOW THAT WERE GETTING ONE
i don't know check out the new video I made about it
Well, turns out it’s getting downscaled to 180, not even a hyper.
This did not age well
they are for sure building one. a few months ago i went into the schoolhouse and the teacher was an employee that has been going since the 80’s said that the owner of knotts was gonna build one. and just after that the owner of knotts and cedar fair were walking around ghost town. i followed them low key and i heard them talking about adding a new ride
It won't Frickin fit! Knott's is an 97 acre theme park. Are you that Frickin ignorant!?
Someone’s jelly knotts isn’t their home park 😎
But there's 5 other cedar fair parks that's better then Knotts.
@@David51295 maybe cedar point and kings island, but besides that it doesn’t get much better than Knotts
@@danielwormald4666 ya but it still better then Knotts Knotts is at no.6
As far as I know, Kings Island and Cedar Point are better than Knott’s. Not CGA, not Canada’s Wonderland
Hahaha! 🤣
Leviathan was originally scheduled for Knotts. A Giga is being built for 2023…so the only thing dead is your post.
Have you and Screamscape lost your marbles? Look I live not far from Kansas City. Our park got the wind seeker from knots berry farm. Why? It's my understanding that after Windseeker kept breaking down leaving riders stranded dangling 300 feet in the air the city government stated that they will not allow any ride over 250 to ever be built at Knots berry farm again. Not my words but I guess the city council's had a ruling on the matter and ordered that Windseeker be totally removed from the park. That's why we got stuck with the monstrosity. Further more don't look for too many more roller coasters to be built around worlds of fun. Many people don't know this but Cedar Fair only owns the rides in the park not the land. All mineral rights, mining rights ect are Owned by the previous owners of the park the Hunt family. Subtropolis lies directly underground underneath worlds of fun. They have to be extremely careful with ground vibrations. Mamba sometimes in the helix the vibrations alone are a bit too extreme for the pillars underground to support the weight they had to be reinforced. Subtropolis is one of the largest underground storage facilities in the world. Ground vibrations and building over subtropolis requires land engineers and cedar Fair doesn't like this they complained when they put up the new water slides the racers. Because they're one size fits all approach doesn't apply to worlds of fun it's more than just the land the layout you can't flatten anything. It carries its own set of unique challenges not just ground vibrations but land formation. I would actually bet that the regretting purchasing the park. But feel free to look up anything about Knott's Berry farm that I just told you. It's a ruling from their city council we're Knott's Berry farm is located this isn't my opinion and it's definitely not made up in my brain this actually happened.
Didn’t age well
There's no way in hell that gigacoaster would fit on a city block. It's going to create a huge traffic headache unless move it somewhere else.
Why would you want to build a new giga at knotts. Its stupid to that. It's landlocked. They should know better than that!!!
So we're just going to ignore the fact that Orion and fury also are built over maintenance areas. I believe Knott's Berry farm can get a giga and it can go over the maintenance area because if you think about it what are the guests going to be thinking about while riding the coaster they're not going to be thinking about the maintenance area they're going to be more focused on the attractions
Those coasters had way more space to work with. We’re is this coaster going to go there is no space
@@JJJJ-he8bz There is space y'all are just not crafty 😩😂
@@JimboC5 😂 they not about to build a 300 foot coaster with 5-6000 feet of track in a crowded metro area
@@JJJJ-he8bz i Don't see no problem with that it's no like thunder dolphin is built in the middle of a downtown area or Manhattan express
@@JJJJ-he8bz Also that would bring more people to the park because people would notice a giant roller coaster from far away I'm not saying that this is going to happen but I do believe it can happen it's not impossible.
Your video is disappointing, you really think parks are done with Gigas? I sure hope not.
I don't tell people what they want to hear, I tell what I think.
