There interesting thing about Phantasialand is that despite featuring countless attractions and 8 roller coasters, the park itself is only a little over 9 Hektars in total space. It’s extremely „cramped“ when compared to most other theme parks, forcing a lot of vertical planning.

    • @reio_riisna

They're also not allowed to build higher than the treeline, that's why this park looks so flat overall. They made an incredible themepark with all these limitations.

    • @dopepopeurban6129
      @dopepopeurban6129 4 месяца назад +59

@@xAciasx They theoretically can build above the teeline (mystery castle f.e.) however in that case, they’d need to install extensive noise protection for the surrounding residential area. They had to do the same when they built Colorado adventure, hence why the entire coaster is now surrounded by those artificial mountains. And since this is both expensive and difficult to theme, they’re circumnavigating this by quite literally digging down. China Town, the old part of Mexico and Wuztown are all on street level, Rookburg, Deep in Africa, the new part of Mexico and Klugheim are all beneath street level, in case of Klugheim more than 11 meters. I’ve never seen a theme park do this before, it’s mind blowing how they use every square meter available.

Phantasialand is truly the best themed park in europe. The prices seem much, but it includes the entry for the days of stay + a very immersive Hotel + very high tier dinner + fast passes for f.l.y exclusively for Lindbergh guests + a really immersive experience in general. It's like you're in another world
But you should also check out the other 2 themed hotels, they're neat, too

And now that I've finished the video: Damn, I live 40 minutes away from Phantasialand but I didn't go there in the last 22 years!
I guess I was so traumatised by that place as a child that I just started hating it. Every year in school we had at least one school trip to Phantasialand, so it started to feel like being forced to go there.
Then the place burned down.( I SWEAR IT WASN'T ME!)
After that I pretty much forgot about Phantasialand for a long time.
In the last years I wondered how the park is now and I have to say the theming looks absolutely phant(asialand)astic! I didn't expect it to look THAT good!
Especially that the hotel is so integrated into the park! I knew that it got some major updates, but it doesn't look like the park from back then at all!
Maybe I will give it another chance next spring!

Phantasialand is definitely one of the best Themeparks, we have in Germany - it's not exactly my Number One, but at the top-3! :D
I'll never forget, my wife, two of our friends and me went to Phantasialand - we chose a random day in the middle of the week. At the drive to Phantasialand we talked, that they finished the build of F.L.Y, but no one was knew, when they will open. We enjoyed the day and eventually, they called through the speakers, that they will soft-opening Rookburg and Fly NOW, so we walked to it and being one of the first maybe 200 Person, who drove with F.L.Y - it was an amazing feeling!
But the Summernights in Asiatown are a little more magical (the park will close around 7 p.m than and reopens one hour later - not the whole park, I guess, but every time, it was an amazing evening with shows on Stage and so on...and especially the Winterevents are amazing, where they had snow falling from many of the buildings, everything is lightened like Christmas and the whole park gets an incredible feeling! :)

The place has amazing theming and the lighting in winter is awesome. Taron and Fly are the big draw but there are plenty of rides for all to enjoy. Certainly well worth a visit. Managed to squeeze in Europa Park, Tripsdrill, Phantasialand, Movie park, Toverland and De Efteling in week. Missed out on Walibi due to traffic but a mega trip. @@reio_riisna We squeezed movie park and Tripsdrill into one day. I know a few guys at Europapark for the "Engineers backstage pass" so we got on most rides in one day. In our team, we are all ride guys, so we are almost immune to G forces but to be honest, we were all pretty broken after a week. The bad thing is we will go on some rides 5 or 6 times in a row. I went front row, back row and middle on Fly and Taron. We went in October thinking it will be quiet, but the weather was amazing, so most parks were busy. Most of the time the job is very difficult, bringing amazing, safe attractions to life. But the rewards are bringing Joy and happiness to millions of people, even if the joy is for a short period of time, and that is priceless.

Germany is relatively far north (51°N near Cologne), i.e. closer to the North Pole than the equator. Summer in the northern hemisphere means that there is daylight for up to 18 hours, so when the sun is at its highest point in the northern hemisphere in June, it is not really dark until around 10.30 pm. For our friends in Scandinavia, this means that there is no night at this time. If you live closer to the equator, there are no long evenings with daylight. On the other hand, our summer is not as warm and long as yours.

    Hey! Nice video!
I live about a 20 minute car ride away from Phantasialand and I love this park. It's my childhood and my everything haha
I've been there many times in my life and actually during the last 3 years I even sometimes worked there every now and then as a "outside helper", meaning I would get there via another company, I go to the entrance and then they tell me where I will be working on that day. (depending on where they are short in workers on that day) By now I have pretty much worked at every single restaurant or snack area where you can buy any kind of food throughout the park. I enjoy working there (not sure about full time, but once in a while is great) because I just love being there and walking through the park at night when the day is over. Plus, the coworkers are always super nice.
But also as a guest I just love everything there. Taron is my favourite roller coaster, but on the other side "Colorado" reminds me most of my childhood. (It'll forever be THE Phantasialand roller coaster to me, plus it's fun to know that Michael Jackson rode it once) I love pretty much any attraction that they have, especially because they put so much detail into the whole design. You really always feel immersed in some fantasy world. They have to get extra creative there because unlike many other amusement parks they cant just buy more land and expand as there is a village located right next to it on the one side and on the other side there are several lakes and forests that are protected environmental areas. So, they need replace old rollercoasters with new ones and use the space wisely. I think they mostly do a great job.
Good to see you had a great time there. Ofcourse I dont know the hotels from the inside as I live nearby and never had to stay there overnight.
    Have a nice day!

This brought back so many memories of my visit last year. I didn't stay at Charles Lindbergh but at Hotel Matamba instead, which was pretty awesome too, but much less themed & less expensive than this one. But watching this makes me want to plan another visit to Phantasialand, & when I do I'd be sure to stay at Charles Lindbergh. Looks so cool!

That's my childhood park! I haven't been there in ages, but when I was young we were there pretty much every year. They still had the old Western themed area when I was there last. But I am super glad you liked your stay there. It is awesome to see a small park, not owned by some big franchise or media mogul getting the love it deserves for the excellent job they do in terms of theming and using the small space available to its full potential!
I also think the hotel seems to be worth it, even though it is pretty expensive it seems to be a step above what other parks offer at the moment in terms of Immersion and stuff that is included.

Other than the high daily admission fees, Phantasialand hit the family sweet spot for decades. There is something in there for everyone. Rides for children, juveniles, and grown-ups alike. Some will leave you not being able to walk straight or seeing double for a few moments. Food from fries, snacks, all the way to dining with style or dinner shows (Phantasia in the Winter), the Chinese Restaurant even has a Michelin Star, at least that was the case when I was there the last time.
Unfortunately, they scrapped their birthday special, which I used 6 or 7 times: regardless of your age, if you could prove that it's your birthday, entry was free.
Same for groups of people from retirement homes and people with special needs, which needed advanced booking, but that was all.
I still love this place, even though I haven't been in years.
