Thanks!
Thank you for the super thanks.
Thanks for sharing Cyrus. I have missed your videos. Hello to you and Birdsong.
Thank you. Yes, it's been a bit since I uploaded a video.
Good job big Cyrus, mine came with several vials of solution and little plastic cups but I wasn’t sure how to use them. Now I know. Thanks bro
Thank you.
Another great Informative Video, Keep up the great job, Just don't wait so long to do more.

Cyrus, very well explained and in plain english,
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it.
@@StillnTheClear Hey Cyrus. I have a question for you, 1 UK gallon = 4.54 litres. the US = 3.79 litres. difference of 0.75 litres when making large batches this works out a big difference. Would you suggest using the US fluid measurement ? or would it not any difference Thanks (South Wales UK)
@@daverees986 That's a good question. Let me see if I can get one of my buddies in on this thread.
@@StillnTheClear No worries, what I'm thinking is the quantity in your recipe would match your volume of fluid. I would adding extra water which could have an effect on the taste and abv. When I bought a Chinese still I messaged them regarding the same question and they didn't know there was a difference in fluid measurement, their stills are made for US gallons only. Thanks for getting back.
@@daverees986 I've tried to leave a response several times already.
I'm in the UK and always use Imperial measurements.
When we publish a recipe on StillnTheClear we always give Imperial and US quantities.
They're easy to scale up or down depending on how much fluid you're going to use.
I mash either 5 or 10 gallons imperial which is 6 or 12 gallons US.
Either way it's 22.5 and 45 litres in metric
I have purchased Konvio Neer pH meter. Without caliberation, Its company fitted reading is 14.0 but after keeping the meter in RO or tap water, it gradually comes down to 7.6 or around after some time. What does it mean? The meter is in yellow colour with three pouches. Can I measure TDS and pH level from the same meter or do I have to buy anotherTDS meter? What are the normal permissible limits of TDS and pH?
Love you're videos very informative. But i know a lot about ph pens and the first thing you should do is buy a quality ph pen . The best pen to get is a blue labs pen. They're very easy to calibrate. They come with a few packs of calibration Solution 2 different kinds 7 and 4 so if you're testing a majority closer to 4 for example use the 4 solution for calibration. One button calibration witch is easy. Clear instructions. Storage solution and stuff to clean it with. I would also suggest buying the cleaning kit and extra calibration solution. I've used many different types of ph pens the past 20 years and those cheap ones dont last and are very inaccurate its worth it to get the blue labs it can save lots of heartaches.👍🏻
Thank, I'm glad you like our videos. Thank you for your experienced input. I'm sure a lot of viewers will find it useful.
good to see you Cyrus
Good job! I like the background
Thanks!
I bought the digital ph meter that you show in your video. Followed your instructions to the letter. Meter did what it should do for calibrating. Then when testing with distilled water the reading was a 5 or 6 and dropping not 7. I will do it all over again but I am discouraged with the digital meter. Is there another way to test ph?
@@rogerraiche3669 You can use pH strips. They're easier to use, but not as accurate. You can get them on Amazon amzn.to/3UF6VB2. Did you order the pH meter from Still The Clear
Calibrating ph meters sucks. It takes too long for me. Anyway. I've been trying your recipes, and have had pretty good success. I also decided to try using crushed oyster shell. I bought a bag at my feed store, but its mixed with coral calcium. Is that OK to use?
Yes, that will still work fine.
Are you useing a different jar to mix I was thinking about cross contamination
I rinsed between each solution.
What if it is not the right number to match the calibration packets?
Recalibrate if the numbers don't match.
If I make to much mash and can only do one run in a day, can I save the rest for for the next day?
Yes you can. Sorry for the delayed response.
Yeah I need more ph packs
duh I feel stupid now, I quit the process after the first calibration, now I need some packets.
This ph meter sucks so bad my ph is 7.4 and this says 8 after calibration
This is why I sold my Vevor. I didn't expect to have to be a chemist. Just to make some shine. It a lot easier just to go to the store.
You are right, it is easier to just buy it.
