    Beautiful soap! I love the soft colors and swirls. It's nice to see someone use plant-based milk and yogurt. I like using soy milk in my soaps sometimes as well and I don't see it used that often. The scent sounds right up my alley, I'll have to try it :)

    Lovely soap. Where can I get those containers that you use including the bottle the Lye was in?

    • @SunshineSoapandCandleCompany
      @SunshineSoapandCandleCompany  3 месяца назад +1

      Hi there! You can get these containers on amazon. I have an affiliate link in the description box and you can find the containers there. The bottle I had the lye and water in is just an old, recycled lye container. I save them to store my lye and water solution.

    Hi Cory. Would the milk and yoghurt not call for some preservative in this recipe? The soap came out gorgeous.

    • @SunshineSoapandCandleCompany
      @SunshineSoapandCandleCompany  3 месяца назад +1

      Hi! Cold process soap does not require a preservative, even with yogurt, milk and other purees like fruits and vegetables. The soap is naturally preserved through the process of it becoming soap. Also, the PH of cold process soap is higher (around a 9) which does ward off bacteria growth. However, if you add too much food puree like fruit, or vegetables, the soap can go rancid.

    What other oil besides coconut oil can I use? I am allergic to it.

    • @SunshineSoapandCandleCompany
      @SunshineSoapandCandleCompany  3 месяца назад

      Hi, you can use babassu oil or cocoa butter. You will need to return the formula back to a soap calculator if you sub out any of the oils to get the new lye and water amounts.

      @@tonializettewooten5628Cory is absolutely right about substitutions. I just wanted to add that I have a customer with a Coconut allergy and I sub Babassu for her soap. I find that it performs just the same as my soap made with Coconut. As Cory said, just be sure to run it through a lye calculator to check your numbers.

      Vegan milk is indeed milk, just not derived from animals like cows or goats. Vegan milks, also known as plant-based milks, provides similar nutrients and can be a good source of vitamins and minerals, such as calcium, vitamin D, and vitamin B12, and more that can be a valuable part of a balanced diet.

      @@hampusbrokmann8249well B12 comes from mushrooms, seamoss, cobalt and duckweed, so might as well add in fortified b12

      @@hampusbrokmann8249 The vitamin B12 used in vegan sources is typically produced through a fermentation process using bacteria, resulting in a form of B12 that is chemically identical to the B12 found in animal products. This means that B12 from vegan sources is just as effective and beneficial for the body as B12 from animals.
      In animal products, B12 is produced by bacteria that naturally inhabit the digestive systems of animals. In contrast, vegan sources of B12 involve a fermentation process using specific bacteria strains.
      Both animal and plant-based milks undergo processing to ensure safety and quality. The key difference is that the B12 used in vegan sources is produced without the need for animal products, making it a suitable and ethical choice for those following a plant-based diet.
      In summary, while it's not animal milk, vegan milk provides essential nutrients like B12 in a way that is sustainable and compassionate for those that chose to be vegan for that reason.
