Thank you Lisa! I agree with everything you mentioned here. Especially with the fact that most difficult part of going through this abuse and then being cheated on, and abandoned, is the self-doubt that remains with the survivors. Also, in shifting the focus from what hit us to how do we heal it. I have trauma stored in my body, from these events, where my body goes into the state of anxiety with smallest of triggers, and then I become disoriented, with weak self-belief. Dealing with new relationships is hard too, no longer knowing what is right and wrong in the ocean of self-doubt that now lives in my body and mind. I will be focusing on healing this part from here on. Cheers to everyone, who is struggling to survive and then thrive after emotional abuse.
I totally relate to how it’s in the body. Disoriented is a great word for how it manifests in current situations. It’s like living in two worlds. Wishing all the best for you.
One way to know that you're dealing with a narcissist is when they take, and take, leaving you feeling depleted. Whereas, you'll receive less, and less or nothing in return.
