Wow! I feel you pain, my wife is doing the exact same thing 15- years married, three children. I'm a teacher and a good father, after our last child was born a year ago she tells me she is no longer happy and loves me but is not in love anymore. I tried for 13- months two different counselors. All kinds of coaching relationship books online programs. Finally she said she wanted to separate so I told her she could leave but I'm not walking out on my kids. She refused to share the house and kids in a nesting separation 50/50. Then she went to an attorney filed for divorce and exclusive possession of our home, to try and have a judge order me out. She is definitely not the woman I fell in love with and married. She's playing manipulation games emotionally and psychologically. I am very broken 💔. I loved her with my whole heart, but she is pulled away on all levels. Now I'm fighting for equal time with my kids and our home. She said she feels trapped but doesn't want to be the one to have to move out.

Wife left me one month ago today. She was cheating on me with a coworker. I wanted to make it work, I wanted her to stay, but she left. She left and said he made her happy. Even after a month, my world is upside down. Sleeping has gotten better, but I just feel like a shell of a person now. I hardly eat, and it's hard to concentrate on anything. Like my brain has shut off but my body is in auto-pilot. This is the worst thing I have ever gone through. I still love her, and still want her, but....it's just not going to happen.

Going through this now , 20 years 5 children but in a very up down relationship, too much damage, feel so hurt by him, tried so much all time , and for what it feels , but take each day as it comes

How do you deal with the pain, resentment, dissapointment and hatred...when I raise our kids and struggle through the days he goes to the gym, has fun etc. It's so unfair. Everyone keeps saying I should be nice to him for the kids, I should be the best mum but he didnt have to! Noone told him to fight for the family and try for kids. Why should I?

@@dionnemartell4392 It was really hard but it gets better with time. Try to be cool and collected when he is around. Dont make time for him, talk pnly about kids if he is interested and dont ask him for favours, dont call him. I made all those mistakes and when I stopped...he's changed his attitude for better. Never let him know that you miss him - if you do....be proud and show him that you can manage even if you feel you don't. Take care!

Still figuring out & trying my best to manage it. Maybe I will try the writing that you mentioned. It is harder as I have a daughter and it pains to think about what she has to go through now.
Amina: The depression from divorce is the worst pain known to humans in my opinion. For some people it is absolutely excruciating and I am unfortunately one of those people. I am two years past my 2nd divorce and I still feel like I am dying slowly. The first one almost killed me too. There have been several suicide attempts after each divorce and for some reason, no amount of drugs will kill me. The last time I did it, I took enough to kill me 3 times and although I was unconscious for two whole days, I am still here. The only thing I can think of that would be as painful is burying a child but divorce is honestly comparable to that for some people. It will tear your insides out.

life will go on man. I am just starting and glad I am not in caregiver role anymore. my ex is mentally ill and refuses to seek help. she just wants cocaine, meth, booze and cigarettes and to hell with her family
yes you can heal, you have to think in a positive way and maybe try dating again, you do get better, our limbic system (a part of the brain) is just too active in depression, we can decrease the activity by doing a lot of exercise, eating well including nuts, and be surround people, all the time, friends, or collegues or just random people. believe I used to think it was never going to get better, but it does! it does!
I have just had my 2nd divorce and both came extremely close to killing me. For some people, divorce is much worse than it is for others and it completely depends on how much that person really did mean to you. My first divorce took 5 years to get over enough that I could function like a human. 5 years is an extremely long time to feel that way. I am 2 years in on my 2nd divorce and this one is far worse. If the first one took 5, I am sure this one will take 10. It is quite hard to imagine another 8 years of this. That "don't worry, it gets better" line drives me crazy. For some, it takes an excruciatingly long time to recover. 10 years of living hell is no joke at all. I am 50 years old. Do I want to suffer like this until I am 60 just to have a little time left and be too old to even start again? It does not sound appealing at all. Maybe some can recover but it is really not true for everyone. I don't have any family either. She was all I had in this world. Humans can not survive with no love at all.

Not that I wish him any harm or have any thoughts of hurting him myself, lol. Trying to make you laugh, if that's even possible... I have so much to say... I need to talk to someone who is smarter than I am! Can't find a therapist of any kind that accepts Medicare. My lawyer gave me a number of some but they don't accept it either. I found a couple 2 hours away. What is really bad is we live around the corner from each other. And his gf who is moving in with him in the house he put together for ME works at the corner store where we both go. Hadn't been there in a while tho cuz I think it makes him angry with me. Then he will not stop harassing me by putting wedges between friends, Mother-in-law and who's next?! That hurt when I lost my Mother-in-law which I had a great relationship with! Her and I are very similar and I didn't ever think of the fact that he "married his Mother"!! He doesn't like her very much at all. I like her more than him and his sister. Sheila Collins I am sorry to hear that you are also in this kind of hell. There is nothing worse and my heart aches for you. It will take a very long time before you feel ok and friends will not understand. I hope that you can hang on. The only thing that will help you is finding new love. You may not feel like doing that but if you want to recover, you really have no choice but to try. Try an online dating site like Plenty of Fish. If you stay home alone, this will likely destroy you. The Monsters Why do folks who know me think that I should just move on?! Telling me yes he has moved on and you need to also. I am not as healthy as he is. I had a heart attack and went on Oxygen in Jan 2017. He basically became my caregiver but I still did things myself. He only had to do a few things to help me out. I think he got tired of being in that position and I wasn't as fun as b4. Yeah right! I have heard things from family and friends. The last time he went to Japan was to meet up with an old gf who is from there. Old gf who lived above us that I was making friends with. That was the second gf!!! I thought I knew everything he was doing but I find out more daily. I've lost friends and my own brother!!! I should hate him but I don't know how.... I feel like I am not a complete person without him in my life! I just need to be able to talk to him about things like the sq ft so I can buy an AC. Why does a person block a person who has been by their side for 30 yrs?!!? I don't understand things like that.... I am so confused about how he has changed into another person that I don't even know!!! How long has he been tired of me?! We were having some hard times but I couldn't see what was right in front of me. He didn't love me anymore by then already.... I guess but sometimes like the other day at Temp Support Court he hugged me and acted like he loves me. Well our friends were there (he had them subpoenaed) so I think he wants to show them how he is nice to me but he doesn't act like that any other time. He will not be in the car with me for 2 mins. First it was the lawyer that told him NOT to talk to me. Now it's a gf who gets upset when I text him. I am blocked from EVERYTHING, his whole life has been blocked from me. And I don't even text unless it's really important for him to know. Like when it's time to give our dog, Oscar his flea/tick and heart guard. I wish I had a heart guard..... I am tired now and just want to sleep forever and ever.
Sheila Collins Unfortunately my dear, what you are describing is typical of humans when they leave someone. There is only one thing that will help you now and that is new love He is not coming back to you and the pain you will experience will be worse than you could ever imagine. You MUST find someone as soon as you can. If you remain alone, you may not survive. I do not sugar coat things. You are in hell and will remain there until someone comes and saves you. Not texting him is a good idea too. Go on a dating site and look for someone. You may need to go on 10 dates before you have success but you will eventually. DO NOT stay alone. That would almost be like suicide. You need companionship more than ever. Give it a try. It saved me.
I am recovering in divorce after 25 yrs marriage it sucks being 50 yrs old and after 4 years doing all kinds of acting out, I realized ex didn't do this to me, I have more strength than I realize. It's hard to forget a lot of bad things but forgiving him is allowing peace inside myself to begin to thrive and most importantly forgiving myself is vital to move on......... just heal at your own speed and do you because hurt people need self care the most!

51 years married, we're 71 yrs old, after retirement started hanging with friends that drink from 4pm-10pm, 7 days a week... I was caring for parents with Alz. sister 64, pancreatic Ca and brother 62, brain CA.long time I took this and threatening he'd leave and I would state, there's the door. so finally he stated he wanted to be free. I said for you to go to drinking and go around with women, I don't think so get you a lawyer. Yes it is. Hard to find the courage to keep going at times. But for those of us who have kids moving forward is the only possible answer.

life will go on man. I am just starting and glad I am not in caregiver role anymore. my ex is mentally ill and refuses to seek help. she just wants cocaine, meth, booze and cigarettes and to hell with her family
yes you can heal, you have to think in a positive way and maybe try dating again, you do get better, our limbic system (a part of the brain) is just too active in depression, we can decrease the activity by doing a lot of exercise, eating well including nuts, and be surround people, all the time, friends, or collegues or just random people. believe I used to think it was never going to get better, but it does! it does!

I have just had my 2nd divorce and both came extremely close to killing me. For some people, divorce is much worse than it is for others and it completely depends on how much that person really did mean to you. My first divorce took 5 years to get over enough that I could function like a human. 5 years is an extremely long time to feel that way. I am 2 years in on my 2nd divorce and this one is far worse. If the first one took 5, I am sure this one will take 10. It is quite hard to imagine another 8 years of this. That "don't worry, it gets better" line drives me crazy. For some, it takes an excruciatingly long time to recover. 10 years of living hell is no joke at all. I am 50 years old. Do I want to suffer like this until I am 60 just to have a little time left and be too old to even start again? It does not sound appealing at all. Maybe some can recover but it is really not true for everyone. I don't have any family either. She was all I had in this world. Humans can not survive with no love at all.

Not that I wish him any harm or have any thoughts of hurting him myself, lol. Trying to make you laugh, if that's even possible... I have so much to say... I need to talk to someone who is smarter than I am! Can't find a therapist of any kind that accepts Medicare. My lawyer gave me a number of some but they don't accept it either. I found a couple 2 hours away. What is really bad is we live around the corner from each other. And his gf who is moving in with him in the house he put together for ME works at the corner store where we both go. Hadn't been there in a while tho cuz I think it makes him angry with me. Then he will not stop harassing me by putting wedges between friends, Mother-in-law and who's next?! That hurt when I lost my Mother-in-law which I had a great relationship with! Her and I are very similar and I didn't ever think of the fact that he "married his Mother"!! He doesn't like her very much at all. I like her more than him and his sister. Enough said, I cry too much! If you need/want to talk please do. Thank you!
Sheila Collins I am sorry to hear that you are also in this kind of hell. There is nothing worse and my heart aches for you. It will take a very long time before you feel ok and friends will not understand. I hope that you can hang on. The only thing that will help you is finding new love. You may not feel like doing that but if you want to recover, you really have no choice but to try. Try an online dating site like Plenty of Fish. If you stay home alone, this will likely destroy you. The Monsters Why do folks who know me think that I should just move on?! Telling me yes he has moved on and you need to also. I am not as healthy as he is. I had a heart attack and went on Oxygen in Jan 2017. He basically became my caregiver but I still did things myself. He only had to do a few things to help me out. I think he got tired of being in that position and I wasn't as fun as b4. Yeah right! I have heard things from family and friends. The last time he went to Japan was to meet up with an old gf who is from there. Old gf who lived above us that I was making friends with. That was the second gf!!! I thought I knew everything he was doing but I find out more daily. I've lost friends and my own brother!!! I should hate him but I don't know how.... I feel like I am not a complete person without him in my life! I just need to be able to talk to him about things like the sq ft so I can buy an AC. Why does a person block a person who has been by their side for 30 yrs?!!? I don't understand things like that.... I am so confused about how he has changed into another person that I don't even know!!! How long has he been tired of me?! We were having some hard times but I couldn't see what was right in front of me. He didn't love me anymore by then already.... I guess but sometimes like the other day at Temp Support Court he hugged me and acted like he loves me. Well our friends were there (he had them subpoenaed) so I think he wants to show them how he is nice to me but he doesn't act like that any other time. He will not be in the car with me for 2 mins. First it was the lawyer that told him NOT to talk to me. Now it's a gf who gets upset when I text him. I am blocked from EVERYTHING, his whole life has been blocked from me. And I don't even text unless it's really important for him to know. Like when it's time to give our dog, Oscar his flea/tick and heart guard. I wish I had a heart guard..... I am tired now and just want to sleep forever and ever.
Sheila Collins Unfortunately my dear, what you are describing is typical of humans when they leave someone. There is only one thing that will help you now and that is new love He is not coming back to you and the pain you will experience will be worse than you could ever imagine. You MUST find someone as soon as you can. If you remain alone, you may not survive. I do not sugar coat things. You are in hell and will remain there until someone comes and saves you. Not texting him is a good idea too. Go on a dating site and look for someone. You may need to go on 10 dates before you have success but you will eventually. DO NOT stay alone. That would almost be like suicide. You need companionship more than ever. Give it a try. It saved me.
I am recovering in divorce after 25 yrs marriage it sucks being 50 yrs old and after 4 years doing all kinds of acting out, I realized ex didn't do this to me, I have more strength than I realize. It's hard to forget a lot of bad things but forgiving him is allowing peace inside myself to begin to thrive and most importantly forgiving myself is vital to move on......... just heal at your own speed and do you because hurt people need self care the most!

51 years married, we're 71 yrs old, after retirement started hanging with friends that drink from 4pm-10pm, 7 days a week... I was caring for parents with Alz. sister 64, pancreatic Ca and brother 62, brain CA.long time I took this and threatening he'd leave and I would state, there's the door. so finally he stated he wanted to be free. I said for you to go to drinking and go around with women, I don't think so get you a lawyer. You've had to many wrecks you paid cash for...I will loose everything even my parents inheritance... he isn't then went to a party and text me he's getting an attorney..did. divorce but now extra year so far with assets...now he met someone for 3 months and wants to marry....

I can’t see women the same... I’ve tried but it just hurts too much. I foind what should be a perfect match. Crazy like me and laughs a lot and is kind and open and doesn’t lie and all this stuff... but I don’t deserve happiness... I am lonely. I hurt... I keep thinking I want to find the one that will finally work but that isn’t a thing... not for me... I hate myself. I hate what I did to you. I hate what you did to me. I was staring at this picture of you with P on her where the wild things are themed birthday. The way you look at her. And then I looked at the one where you guys were in a store and you threw up a peace sign and her beautiful blue eyes and wide smile reached the heavens above... I realized I’m gonna miss her birthday and I’m not gonna live with you and all this other crazy stuff... being alone and away from you I’ve laughed and had the best times I’ve had in a long time with my friends here on deployment. For a while the rocket attacks and work were enough to keep me busy... I don’t want to go home because there’s alcohol there... I love you.... I’m sorry.... I said a prayer just now. There was a couple times where I was missing something or I was scared for my life and I thought about praying and asking for help and I shook my head and told myself no you don’t rate God.... but I prayed and I haven’t in a while.... I asked that he would please take me life.... I don’t know why I’m writing....
