This is my favourite Lalique. Most important part of any fragrance (for me) is the dry down and this one is so good. Agree with you about going light on the trigger. 2 sprays is plenty and it performs well. Great longevity for me. Equus doesn't wow me. More vetiver-centric. It's good but not great. Ombre Noire has the best opening of any Lalique I've tried. Rich, warm, boozy, sweet, amazing. Longevity is average though. But wow, while it lasts 😀 The Encore Noire range is good but won't be to everyone's liking. Hommage & Hommage Voyageur are "acquired tastes" they're definitely not for the masses. I prefer Voyageur.
Love this one. I haven't worn it in the cold yet but might try tomorrow. Think that sweetness would be great cutting through the cold in London at the mo. I don't think this is too sweet at all and I don't like sweet frags, but I do agree that its at it's best a couple of hours in.
I was thinking about it recently since I’ve worn it a few times since this review and it is just the opening is the sweetest scent out of the fragrances that I own, i like a lot of classics, I know there are ones out there that blow this out of the water sweetness wise so that’s what may have turned me away from it, but the dry down is awesome and what I enjoy most. Thank you so much for watching and commenting dude !
Hey Kellan just watching this again, am breaking out the Lalique for a refresh test sniff. Always appreciate your attention to presentation, packaging and bottle design etc which with Lalique is always excellent especially in relation to price. I have a background in decorative art so Lalique is sacred to me, their glass is awesome, the bottle they did for L’Air du Temps might qualify as the most beautiful of all time. Encre Noir was a gateway for me, was recommended by a shopkeeper here in Toronto and that really reawakened my interest in mens perfumery which began with Antaeus Kouros and Santos and then disappeared for decades when much shittier fragrances starting coming out. So thanks again and good job!
Thanks so much for the support ! Lalique, especially with this bottle, definitely has great presentation. I know they are renowned for their glass work
Great review man. Just subbed 👍🏼 Have had my eye on this for a while. 4.2oz for under $30 is too good to pass up. Will definitely be pulling the trigger on it during my next haul.
I'm 52 and love this fragrance. It's great for the office, evening and formal events. I like to think it's sophisticated, warm and hopefully a little sexy! But what's with the cheap cap?!!
D MM this is a great scents very versatile, masculine and smells great ! A fresh lighter Drakkar noir, the bottle is cool the cap is cheap but 7$ can’t complain for the quality scent you get. Thank you for watching and commenting sir
I much prefer the EDT to the EDP because it's less dry and opens with pleasant lavender and citrus. The dry-down of the EDT is still a cedarwood bomb, but anyway... everyone wants the EDP because the dry-down of that is even closer to BDP.
russtex it’s pretty good, I mentioned the opening being a little to sweet for my taste but the dry down and second half of the fragrance is very nice gives a gentleman vibe. Thanks for watching as always dude !
oswjim I wouldn’t sweat this one to much I like it but I was disappointed to be honest I dislike the opening so much, dry down is where it’s at. Thankfully it’s cheap so who cares
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey I understand why you gave away pour homme the fougere is not my style so I ended up getting the Equus instead, check it out on fragnatica it looks like hidden gem.
Can’t believe most of the reviewers are saying that this supposed to smell like BDP. They are nothing alike. This is way too sweet and not 💈 like. Completely different fragrance overall.
bryan scott that’s a good question, but I would lean towards the Perry Ellis by Perry Ellis personally, it’s more mature and I think the notes that are listed especially the rose note really show in that fragrance, also you get a big bottle of it. I have some sentimental attachment to that Perry Ellis fragrance since my dad introduced me to it. But I think that part aside it’s still a better scent. Both are great but if you are picking one or the other go PE for sure !
UltraSupra that was the main reason why I purchased it but from what I remember bois du Portugal smelling like this one is not that close at all imo. It’s been a while since I have tried bois du Portugal but I know I remember it’s being so green and Fresh where as Lalique pour homme is sweet in the opening and maybe slightly similar in the dry down, have you tried both ?
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey Hmm... that's interesting because many RUclips reviewers say it's very close to Creed BdP. I used Creed BdP when it was introduced in the 80's, and I remember I really loved it. I'm not sure if the newer version is still the same, though.
UltraSupra I do not have much experience with creeds BDP I’ve only sampled it once but I remember how much I liked it and I didn’t feel the same at all about Lalique pour homme, it’s not bad at all but def not that similar from what I can remember
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey Thanks for sharing your take on it. I almost pulled a trigger on Lalique last night and now you got me thinking. lol. I heard there's a BpD clone from Dua Fragrance. Maybe that's what I should explore more of.
UltraSupra yeah I wouldn’t repurchase Lalique pour Homme again after this bottle is done which probably won’t be for years anyway lol. Again it’s a pretty good cologne but I get held up at the opening which is to sweet to me and does not have that barbershop / classic feel only slightly at the ending. Thankfully it’s 25$ so no big deal if you blind buy it
James Carter for whatever reason. I was not that into this scent, I still have not reached for it since this review. I should give it another chance while it’s still cold out and see what I think this time around

Wayne Morris the dry down here is what makes this fragrance awesome, not a fan of the opening, the dry down makes this scent memorable

oswjim no I do not have any, I saw it but wanted the original. I probably won’t try it anytime soon to be honest
Pour Homme is a nice fougere but have you got your nose on Equus??? The EDP with the Horse head?

Yes Avon Wild country I did a full review on. Thank you for watching and commenting sir
12h+, on my skin. After that, it dies down in a caress of vanilla. Eternal. Epic

What would you recommend, this or that Perry Ellis you did a review on? The Perry Ellis that looks like deodorant. LoL. I was interested in both.
