It's more or less needed if you want to fight Canis head on. Between Miracle and Wrath, you will more than likely just get crit and die before you can kill her, and even if you could, she can miracle and dodge. Even Ced isn't foolproof, which says something.
5:55 My name is Ralph. I'm 776 years old. My house is in the central section of Thracia, where all the route splits are, and I am not married. I work as an employee for the Liberation Army, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don't smoke, but I occasionally drink. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep staves, no matter what. After having a glass of S Drink and doing about twenty minutes of arena abuse before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last mend staff visit. I'm trying to explain that I'm a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any Thracians, like Raydrik and Travant, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn't lose to anyone.
There's something very satisfying about there being an armour boss sitting on a throne that gives 10 defence and holding a weapon that halves the player's attack and Mareeta going "Yeah I can kill that in one round".
@@allenkeettikkal3149 Asvel cannot one round Raydrik without shenanigans like making him equip a bow or Luna manual + other stuff and very favourable RNG.
@@broccolidood5695 The Bragi Sword is weird in general. Despite the belief that only those with Holy Blood could wield it, Mareeta, Galzus and Eyvel cannot use the weapon. What's clear is that anyone that is a descendent of those within Sigurd's army has the means to equip the weapon. Which is odd, but that's what's clear based on who can wield it and who cannot.
You could also talk about thracia skills and its own whackness. Like how accost is detrimental is some cases, or how personal weapons some times just have skills. Or my fav. Vantage wrath working as god kaga intended ;)
Worth noting that in the Kaga games (including the variant of the skill in Tear Ring Saga) when you proc Astra with a double attacking weapon it just attacks 10 times rather than having to have a chance to proc on each of the weapon's two attacks. Also Tear Ring Saga has a quad attacking bow. Yes it works that way.
Vestaria Saga runs off the same Kaga-isms. The best examples I can give though is Imbued Lance(6x strikes) with Triple Threat(20% flat proc) resulting in up to 36 attacks in one round or Seratim Bow(4x strikes) with Flurry(Dex% bow astra) which can give you up to 40 attacks.
Osian would have the potential to be the best combat unit in the game if the Manster arc didn't exist. Unfortunately, Fergus and Asbel are very funny characters.
This is one of those things where you're initially like, "Well yeah, no shit." Then you play Thracia, and you realize they're so much stronger than you thought.
your editing style is a delightful sight on the topic of the video, it's part of what makes thracia unique. it makes some units that are otherwise not noteworthy really stand out, and it'd be nice if we got more randos with personal weapons again in future games

Funnily enough, Osian is pronounced how it's translated from Japanese. Or-sheen. In Japanese his name is Ōshin in romaji, and considering the letter "I" is pronounced as 'ee', both Osian and Ōshin are very similarly pronounced the same. Osian is effectively based on the pronunciations of that of the Gaelic. Named after a legendary poet and warrior of Irish mythology, Oisín, Osian, Ossian, or anglicised as Osheen. It's just that Heroes is inconsistent with their pronunciations. Despite pronouncing Scáthach more-or-less correctly... Those like Osian or Febail however were not as they're supposed to be pronounced more similarly to how the Japanese do. Even Diarmuid is relatively pronounced as Dermott and not Dee-ar-moo-id.
I love how insane and over the top a lot of these are. With how Thracia is, being less focused in combat, the game can get away wtih giving you such insane tools without compromising the challenge. Thracia truely is the most fun Fire Emblem game. They just give you a bunch of OP tools and tell you go to have fun.
You can actually reverse-steal prf weapons onto any enemy with sufficient rank, and they can use it. the only practical use of this is to reverse steal unlock staves onto the enemy in case Tina died or was not recruited. Its just interesting.
Imagine being the person who when training Maretta missed her strength growth 7 times in a row while trying to train her and just got discouraged from it and looked at their already trained Shiva who had 17 strength and was good enough hahahahahaha *sigh* why does the RNG hate me this much.
If you think Thracia prfs are cracked you should play Tear Ring Saga you aint seen nothing 😂. You get an early enemy myrm with a sword that is basically a killing edge that is monster effective and halves all damage recieved. Then a few chapters later you get another myrm who has a sword that INSTANTLY BRINGS HIM BACK TO LIFE AT FULL HEALTH. It has like 60 uses and dying just uses up one of them. You can also get the greatest cavalier of all time in chapter 2. He has paragon and gets like plus 6 to all stats on promo. The early prepromote Paladin also double promotes into a Wyvern Lord just because. I could go on and on. Also every unit learns unique personal skills as you level up. There is an early cav that is not nearly as godly but she gets vantage and wrath eventually.
Great and fun video! However I must point out one massive flaw. The take you make at 0:32 is so blatantly wrong, that's just an objective fact I make the rules.
Not at all to be pedantic here, but Prf. on Fire Emblem weapons does not stand for: "Personal" but "Preferential." Mareeta if given Adept and Accost, can actually attack up to 80 times. One of these days, I want to attempt 80 attacks on Raydrick. Obviously she has to be using a brave weapon for this effect so, there's a chance he dies way before she gets there, but it would be funny nonetheless. Nihil negates ALL enemy combat related skills including Pavise if I'm not mistaken. Which makes her an amazing mid-to-late-game boss-slayer. There are plenty of other instances of bosses actually having relevant skills in this game as well. Thracia is my favorite game in the series, bar none. Genealogy is number two. These games have incredible story, outstanding gameplay for the time period they were made, which is a bit flabbergasting that either of them exist in the time of the Super Nintendo (Famicom.) There may be many - what you call - "blessed units" but there's not a Thracian character who is unusable. Staves are powerful! Thank goodness, because they're virtually useless other than healing outside of the Jugdral games. And they actually grant experience to boot! Wow! Almost like they're a functional part of the game... I've done playthroughs of FE5 without the warp staff, without Gaidens, without deadlord recruits, without preferential weapons, without staple characters. The game is always hilariously fun. And something incredible always ensues. 99 hit caps, 99 crit caps, 1 hit floors, FCM, built in supports off rip, preferential weapons everywhere, some of the most broken general use weapons in the series; flame sword, kingmaker, brave axe, brave bow, warp and rewarp and so much more! Magic doubling as attack and resistance so that Ensourcel is incredibly powerful. Stat caps of 20. Changeable growths with scrolls, and the crit negates they grant (aside from wrath!) movement growth, con growth, and movement stars! Secrets galore! Gaidens everywhere! Hidden; promotions, items, characters, weapons so on and so forth. If half the rest of the series even had a third of what Thracia has to offer, I'd claim Fire Emblem to be the best series ever made in its genre. But alas, political agendas rule the modern day. I wish more folks would get off of the kaga-hate-train and join Jugdral. It's hilarious, because I couldn't care less for the FE games that preceded them. A good game is a good game regardless of whom it is that makes it.
Nihil is actually very relevant in Thracia because unlike in Genealogy it stops everyone's favourite nemesis Big Shield from activating.
The only power to rival holy weapons. Big shield was what killed the Crusaders
It also blocks a few lategame bosses, including Reinhardt (though it's much easier to just warpskip or status the guy).
It's more or less needed if you want to fight Canis head on. Between Miracle and Wrath, you will more than likely just get crit and die before you can kill her, and even if you could, she can miracle and dodge. Even Ced isn't foolproof, which says something.

There's something very satisfying about there being an armour boss sitting on a throne that gives 10 defence and holding a weapon that halves the player's attack and Mareeta going "Yeah I can kill that in one round".
You can do that in Nintendo 3DS Fire Emblem as well, but this time you got 2 units to one round the final boss.
Asvel can do the same thing though, and doesn’t come midway and desperately needs training to be relevant.
