I hope one day you guys can have your whole flower farm covered with a watering system 🌸🌱as it’s a game changer.
It’s such a lot of time and energy to hand water everything, and we all need to work smarter not harder, especially as we get older!

Cathi!! I saw your Kombucha gummies video pop up on my home feed and I need to sit down and watch that! We love our farm layout now so a watering system is definitely on the cards now!! Just need to get onto it. We would need WiFi out in the paddock for this one (which we could do) so it's a bit of extra set up to get that happening! I think we are looking at one more season of hand watering...

@@phaedragardeness I used to be a Winter lover too Phaedra, but finding this year I’m feeling the cold, so I’m trying to keep moving to combat that!
I used to work outside in the cold in a t-shirt when I was in a farm job, but my knee injury changed my mobility for a while… currently nearly back at about 85%, so I’m feeling more promising about that…. Now to lose some weight🤣🤣 Anyway lovely, enjoy the gummies, they are so easy to make and a great sub for jelly lollies xx 😘

Interesting how it's little tiny sprinklers. When I finally move, I hope to start with a black slate, putting irrigation in first thing. Pretty cool how it works with the phone. Hope you can at some point use it everywhere.
hi Wende!! Yes that would be amazing to get the irrigation in first!!! The little tiny sprinklers are just ones we had on hand, ive used them through a veggie patch in the past. The type of sprinkler is somehting I also need to look in to!!
Wow I didn't know that this level of technology was available to smaller growers (as opposed to big industry). But I guess it makes sense, I just didn't know about it!
I had no idea either! We had looked at a very large scale system (the type of thing used on 1000acre farms, cropping) and had wondered how we could scale it down. Then RainPoint contacted us about this… and I think we could scale it up. Still looking into it!
The system looks great. Much more advanced than a small wifi attachment I bought last year. Did you get the rest of the stuff from Bunnings?
Hi Jane! It is pretty advanced for a home garden system isn’t it! Yep pretty much all the fittings and tube and sprinklers and things were from Bunnings or our local servo (that has a farm store).
Wou,d you be able to use the soil gauge other place sin the farm to test out different watering strategies ?!
Do you mean to keep an eye on moisture even if we don’t have irrigation set up there? Yes that could work!! It would need to be within wifi range though (and we don’t have wifi further than about 3mts from buildings). In an urban setting that could be a really good use though!
I find you need lots of washers on garden connectors and the stupid thing is ( as usual!!) that the only packets of washers you can get at Bunnings have heaps of ones you NEVER, EVER use and about one that you actually need. I got mine on ebay.
That is so true and I recon they sell those mixed packs knowing they will make more money. We have a little servo in town here that has a bit of everything and they have washers though!!!
