    Sorry, I tried last summer with natural rope but it didn't work so I tried with cotton for crochet also it's not working, so I tried with wool yarn still it's not working. Then the day before we leave for a week vacation I took some big Ziplock Bags, pour water into it & pricked (1 tiny hole) with thin needle at the bottom & place it close to the stem of my plants. Brilliant, they work well.

    Good idea . U can avoid soil filling into third pot by simply keeping the pot upside down also or use any other object in between the tomoto plant pots like a small plank like bridge and save one pot with soil.. Alternatively, u can keep the water bottle in one of the pots with plants and avoid third pot with soil

      Thank you! 🙂True, as long as the pot is large enough to hold the water bottle.

    Recommendations: 1)tie a nut or washers to twine to weigh down in bottle and 2) hole in a popsicle stick or garden tag instead of toothpick in soil to anchor twine - good wind would blow this away.

    2 things to add...
    use a thinner rope or better yet use a string . It will drip at a slower pace at the same time be sufficient for the plant.
    Make a small hole in the bottle cap and pass the string through the cover. Keeping it open will give access to mosquitoes to breed

    I think it's better to bury the cord in the substrate so that the speed of watering could depend on the saturation level. Otherwise I calculated that about a litre of water could be spent in 2 days. For some plants that could be too much. For example, my lemon tree uses only around 500 ml of water in a week.

    • @CoolStuff7
      @CoolStuff7  2 года назад +4

      True! I didn't bury the thread in the ground so I could film the drop accurately. It is certainly better if we bury the thread.👌

    You could have the string inside some flexible tube. Have the tube slightly longer than the string. Then you could push the tube into the soil and there's a slight gap for the drip to fall. That'd eliminate/minimize any evaporation

    • @vinn3327

      No , it's gravity fed,it has to be higher than the pot , as long as the rope/yarn (not this plastic shit theses days ) is wet it will water ya plants until the bottle is empty. And make sure you have enough rope in bottle. 👍

    • @sweetkitty2798

      @ Sweet Nara It depends a lot on the weather. In a closed space it does not evaporate, if it is in an open space, at very high heat or strong wind the wire evaporates or dries. If you use the system outside, it is better to pass the wire through the hose.

      @@tonyhaltmar1383 Im not sure what problem you think you have solved. At the time of watching this video, I wanted to try this but it doesn't matter either way regardless as I have an automatic drip irrigation system!

      @@JustinBlake35 I"m sorry, I meant to type "buy" not "but." If you don't mind, how does your system work? I am looking to keep a few pothos plants watered while I am away for work, usually a couple of weeks at a time. By the time that I return, they are on the verge of giving up the ghost.
      Thanks!

      @@tonyhaltmar1383 they are extremely easy to set up. I actually got mine from temu for free! All I was required to do was, cut the tubing and place the sprinkler heads where I wanted them. I don't have mine on a timer, I just manually shut it on and off when I need to. But you can get timers to add to them!

    Most of what you're doing happens outside the frame, because the camera is too close.
    I don't think it will help anything though, when it's really hot in summer.

      Run the rope thru a plastic straw and insert to the depth you want to water, middle, bottom. Keeps the roots going down, stronger, more productive. Or run it thru 1/4"
      plastic line that is on evaporative coolers or buy length needed at hardware store.

    • @CoolStuff7
      @CoolStuff7  3 года назад +4

      It is enough not to dry out if you go on vacation for a week.
      It depends on the plant and its growth. Obviously, for a larger plant you will use a container with more water. Thanks for watching!

    the space you use for your water bottle could be used for another plant...you also need that much water for a day not a week in the season so a bit of a waste of time and effort really ..get an irrigator set from the hardware store..they are cheap and reliable

    Irigasi tetes dengan tali sebagai pengantar tetes air...
    Saran. sebaiknya botol ditutup dengan tutup botolnya 1 putaran untuk mencegah nyamuk bertelur( bahaya).
    Jumlah tetesan bisa diatur...1 tali...,2 tali, 3 tali 1-3 tetes per 5 detik ( 12 tetes / menit).
    Untuk siram boleh 12 tetes/ menit, 1 tetes / 5 detik untuk perawatan biasa, bisa juga dihentikan dengan cara lepas tali dari pot...( di vedeo ini ada pohon tomat).

    Il ne faut pas avoir de tomates trop gourmandes. En pleine saison une tomate consomme entre 1/2 et 1 litre d'eau par jour.... Je crains que ce système ne soit QUE pour éviter la mort des tomates pendant 1 semaine de vacances... Et non irriguer comme il faut chaque pied... C'est bien pour une tomate cerise sur un balcon à l'abri du soleil... De plus un petit "paillage" serait bien pour éviter l'évaporation de l'eau au pied de la tomate.....
