Complete Burnout as a Flower Farmer Florist | My Experience
Four years of intense work lead me to an emotional, physical and mental breakdown. It has taken months to feel like I'm getting back on top of life and able to reflect back and share the experience. I hope everyone looks after themselves so this doesn't happen to you.
For those wondering as it may not have been clear in the video, Yes I am still growing flowers!

Some Privacy Please! Planting a Living Privacy Screen
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.16 часов назад
This week on the Australian flower farm we have a pulled out all stops to get a 26 metre privacy screen planted out. We live in a very private, sheltered area and there is a couple sections of our boundary fence where we could see straight through to our neighbours. And as much as we love them... we love our privacy more! The plan we used was Pittosporum. I also finally planted out the Camellia...

Hi Phaedra, thank you for sharing. I can’t even explain how much this video resonates with me!! I’d love to see you continue to grow flowers. I’m in Nova Scotia, Canada and also have a flower farm. Our seasons are opposite and I’m never at the same stage as you, but watching your content during our winter really helps me for my next growing season. Even if you grow fewer flowers watching content about techniques, tips, and tricks is invaluable. Your beautiful gardens can be your teaching space? Always enjoy new videos. Happy to hear you’re on the mend to your joy.❤

Our kids absolutely love our cavoodle, I would have loved a cavalier because the poodle x gives her playfulness and energy where as I prefer our couch potato greyhound . I would never get a lab or retriever too much energy when kids are at school and more expensive to feed and more to clean up after.

Hi Phaedra, I'm so glad that you are on the mend. I was/ or still am in the same boat. Tryed to grow my flowers to teach dyeing wool with fresh flowers, witch I did for 8 years, and then my whole flower garden flooded ths spring for 6 times. I inversted € 700,00 0n flower seeds, plants and tubers, with 5% succes out of it all. Then I desided to teach, for a part, dyeing yarns with mushrooms and lichen, so I ordered mushrooms and lichen for $ 700,00 in the US. I also ordered for € 2000,00 yarns from a mill in the UK for 30 students, but there were 24 students on my list to teach this year, and 22 did not show up, whitout a valuebel reason. BUMMER. I only had 18 students. So in the end this cost me money, and I did not break even. So next year no teaching for me, but I am gonne wright a book about natural dyeing wool, with flowers, mushrooms and lichen and I start knitting again for my 6 grand children, things I did not do the last year.Wish I could come over and give you a BUG HUGGGGG. Take care of yourself, as I will try too ❤❤❤

If you are going to get a dog to play with James, get a golden retriever, they are one of the dogs that is most likely to become good friends with cats. We both are team both, except that Bruce is incredibly allergic to cats. When we bought our house on Cortes Island years ago, it came with a 7yr old cat and when she became too old to be an outdoor cat she became an indoor cat and Bruce had to take allergy pills every day. She lived to be 21 and moved to Campbell River with us and our two golden retrievers when she was 20.

@@phaedragardeness He had to take allergy pills until the day she died. Definitely Golden Retriever, if you google it, they are up there. As an example, one of our golden retrievers, Dax, was on a mission to make friends with all the neighbourhood cats for her whole life. She even learned to sit still and wait until they approached her. One neighbourhood cat would walk up to Dax and roll over so that Dax could lick her stomach.

Team 🐶❤ i do love cats too but i find them such heartbreakers with no road sense.💔 i really do like the look of a Pittosporum hedge they are tough as nails and make fantastic foliage for flower bunches, i have a varigated one called snow leopard and its very pretty... i work at an advanced tree nursery and sell these babies all day everyday my biggest advice for these would be to prune! The ones you put in the ground actually look a little root bound and stressed i would chop them in half (i know scary) but in return they will thicken up and put energy into the bare branches. ❤🎉
