- Welcome to the ultimate RC showdown! In this video, RC RUclipsrs from around the UK come together to race Tamiya TT02 stock RC cars and determine who's the fastest on the track. We all started by building the Tamiya TT02 kit and then met up in Cambridge for an epic race.
However, things don't go quite as planned when I decide to cheat and make a few modifications to my car to improve its speed. As the race unfolds, it becomes clear that my modifications are causing problems with the car, leading to some unexpected twists and turns.
Will my cheating ways pay off and help me secure the top spot? Or will the other RC RUclipsrs prove their skills and take home the victory? There's only one way to find out!
Join us for an exciting and action-packed race that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Watch as we push our Tamiya TT02 cars to the limit and see who comes out on top. Don't miss a second of the fun and excitement - hit that play button now!

you got that edited quick!!! Great day had fun :)
I had a blast. I’ve been laughing all day while watching all the footage back. 👍🏻 XMAXX racing next?
Cracking up watching your car Kev.😂
I would have gotten away with it, if it weren’t for you meddling kids….
Oy! Spoilers!
The Scooby Doo ending...
@@toolbaggers I don’t want to burst your bubble, but the vast majority of my audience are between the ages of 35-55 😉👍 ( actual stats show 74% between 25-54, with 52.9% being 35-54) 😇
🤣😂🤣😂
@@TomleyRC I'm 48 and I'm your biggest fan 😂
This is so cool. Almost all my favorite uk rc’ers together. Need to add Rob Brennan, the OAG, and Mark Bryan 😎
"We were given stock Tamiya TT02 _Audi A4s_ "
KevinTalbot: "I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that."
Love seeing all the UK guys getting together

Those Popalong guys might have had the upper hand with all the Tamiya racing track time....Great stuff
I love these crossover RC videos.
Next you guys should race each other with the lunchbox, modifications allowed 😀.
Great vid Gav.
Super cool to see the lot of yall out there together especially Kev and phil especially since the bad blood that had for so long. Ive been a lond time sub of urs, tomley RC, and Kev, RC icons, and Glen at both his channels. So keep it up and im hoping to be able to get me some more RC's im recently divorced and coming off the covid thing i had to sell what cars i did have because i was out of work. And now having to pay the ex. I dont know how long its going to take but i love the 1:10 crawlers but theres nothing like the old school i had a couple gold pans TA. And a few more ventage. Like the touring cars. I just loved it all. Hopeful sometime in the future i can get something to run but im subbed to well over a hundered different RC channels urs being 1 of the first. Sorry for being so long winded. I just appreciate yall and what yall do
Looking forward to watching the next one.
Congrats papalong
This was a great idea. I enjoyed the video.
I love that the audi is finally getting some attention. Had one last summer, best rc I've ever got. Gonna get another soon💪💯
Awesome! Can’t wait for the next race!
XMAXX racing next Noah?
@@RCKickschannel oh yes hopefully I’ll catch you then!!
I really enjoy this contest!
You guys are heroes!!!!How can you drive with this annoying bip bip bip that sounds ???😅😅
LOL it did sound like it was coming from a person in the corner, I did think that myself lol
Audi V8 is exciting if you are a hardcore VW/Audi bloke like me. Was considering it but I am a Kyosho guy and picked up a Fazer WRX with some special bits.
I see now all the secret cheats are coming out 😂 it was great to meet you looking forward to the next race 👍
XMAXX racing?
All My goto RUclipsr are in here!
Got my first tamiya truck race in two weeks, can't wait!😄
Lock the front diff
I used to race 1/10th scale Touring Cars at a Club in Newcastle upon Tyne from '96 - '99. We raced in a school hall, on wooden floors and ran stock motors (to prevent anyone spending their way to victory). Had to run Schumacher Mini Pin tyres to get any grip.
Was always amusing after the janitor had polished the floor. It was like ice racing.
I raced a couple of Schumacher SST '98s (one with a BMW E36 Coupe shell, and one with a Dodge Dakota pick up shell, and a Tamiya FF01 FWD, optioned up with carbon chassis, etc, and a Volvo 850 Estate BTCC shell). Still got all three cars and they're all mint as were never run outside.
The Tamiya handled well and was surprisingly quick as it had less transmission power loss. Used to eat at least one pair of front tyres every meeting though. The front wheels would start out white and be black by the end of the meeting.
Gave up racing RC when I calculated I could run a full-size race car for the same money, so got into clubman rallying. Mostly tarmac as I have an allergy to trees. - Not the pollen, but to hitting them at speed. The tree always wins.
"Mostly tarmac as I have an allergy to trees. - Not the pollen, but to hitting them at speed." LOL 100% the worst thing to ever crash into is a tree. It NEVER ends well.
@@RCKickschannel , quite. I've been a rally marshal at two accidents which required the Air Ambulance, and I was marshalling on Rally GB in 2005 when Michael 'Beef' Park, a Peugeot Works Co-Driver, was killed after their car hit a tree sideways at 104mph.
I've had a couple of minor offs whilst I've been rallying, but nothing too painful/expensive. Worst experience was trying to drive a rally already having got whiplash karting the day before. That became not much fun rather soon.
At least with RC racing you can have ma-hoosive crashes and it mostly just hurts your wallet.
Racing is racing, no matter if it's scale or full size. The personal risks are bigger full size, as the recent death of Craig Breen (WRC works driver) have brought to the forefront. - A freak accident. A tragedy. But none of us would compete if we didn't consider the risk. It's all about passion for a sport/hobby.
My rallying is a hobby, as I can't afford/am too old to make it a profession. It's just for a bit of craic.
It was RC cars which got me into full size rally cars (and drag cars), and I'm still into RC as well.
great to see you all racing and having fun... wish i could join in
Much laughter was had that’s for sure
Just thinking on the steering mod what is the difference between the standard and drift chassis steering components.
Great video. I wish we could have more Tamiya racing here in USA . Very low cost fun...
You don’t see many in the US then?
@RCKickschannel some. But very little. I am from Texas. This is Traxxas country so most entry leval racing is Spec Slash based off road
Great video but theres only one touring car
The mighty rs500 💪
Metro 6R4 for me all day long. A balls to the wall group B never the likes we will see again.
Its probably a good thing to leave a bit of bodypost available to be able to up your car a bit if its running low, before you have to start cutting the body up. :D This event looked like lots of fun, fingers crossed it could become a yearly event, or more often if you guys start doing it with different cars (buggy, touring, bashers etc). The low cost of entry classes are nice as they are more accessible.
Just want to point something out, that you DO NOT need more steering on touring cars usually, often the problem is too much steering, and it basicly just means you're going into corners scrubbing your tires, and on high traction, you're rolling a lot. A LOT of cars looked like they needed to drop the steering rate from 100 to like 80 in the race footage.
Yep, you would think right lol
The body post thing is something I learned from Eurotrucks. Having an extra hole leaves more room for body movement without scrubbing the ground.
Finally, a TT02 with a drivetrain matches the real car. Nice build. How does your Mrs react when you do a massive build? Were you all on bone stock brushed? No aluminium shocks or camber links? Looks a fun race
Bearings and race rims and tyres, that’s it. Stock kit motor, stick ESC stock friction shocks
That looked like a episode of BlackAdder R/C.
Are you using a TT-02 as a doorstop at the RCkicks studio and secret world headquarters yet?
But seriously, that Audi is pretty cool. Granted another TT is a bit monotonous, but the history of the real Audi V8 was straight up muscle car.
So really nice to see that car body set available here locally.
I sell on most TT02 chassis as I have had sooooo many over the last few years. I have the TT02 SRX in the collection as that’s the ultimate TT02 kit Tamiya have released so far. It still needs a body
love to see Claire!!!, but why KEV is running a short wheelbase car? thought this was a even race, all with the same body...
You could run any Tamiya body you wanted. In the end the Audi V8 was the better body to run. The rear wing and kevin's big logo stickers on the Porsche body kept giving him grip rolling issues.
Kev's gonna start collecting TT02's now, just wait!
Not like he’s going to teach them to fly
200 like wow 😊 Gavin I would like to see you guys in person
I found with my TT-01 drift platform, that locking the diffs with fluid wasn't the best idea. Tamiya or 3Racing or one of the aftermarket groups do a diff locker that worked better. And yes the bump stops are there for a reason, which I found out the hard way as you did.
Yep my TT02 SRX has a totally locked one way front diff. Yep removing the bump stops is really not a good move lol
I love your victoria pemberton bike for the morning ride very very nice
Got to drop a few KG some how
😂
@@RCKickschannel lol
A TT02 with missing front driveshafts? No way that never happens ever lolol.
Gavin. What do u think about if instead of using the white, if u had sprayed it in platinum silver or gun metal gray? Do u think those colors would have looked good the stock livery? I hope u can make since out of that😂 but either way, cool car, race and video
It would need to be a light silver as the stickers are dark. I would do it in yellow, that works well
That did look like a lot of fun. I have a TT02 on the way, not sure what body I'm going to get for it though.
Depends what you are going to do with it. Shelf queen, something like the Senna body if you want a painting challenge. Racing something simple and I was happy with the V8 Audi myself but for out and out performance, something like the low slung modern Ford GT
@@RCKickschannel Hmmm good suggestions. I might get a WRX body, I love those things.
Ian is like a mobile chicane, he’s all over the place, he even puts chicanes in the straight lol 😝, but at least he’s doing it.
I’m not making any excuses for my poor driving skills 😂 but I did stick to the rules unlike some people 🤔
Thank you for being an RCKicks subscriber from the start Mike! 4 years!
less is more
I saw you were using a 3600mah lcg shortie, I think I have the same battery and if so, it only weights 125 grams. That there would have been an issue, you had alot of weight on the motor side, plus the springs are very stiff as they are based around a NiMH, not a lipo. So a higher mah/heavier lipo would have helped
Kevin even run a 3S Lipo in his for one race for fun lol. Things did get a little toasty lol.
@@RCKickschannel thats insane to do that! Did his tires come off the rim?! Is kevin getting into the business of making pretzels? Cause I bet his driveshaft looked one done after running a 3s
I can't quite dial my steering so it runs straight it seems to run off in a certain direction I've tried dialling it on the control do you have any tips great video and content always look forward to your videos
It’s the servo, you need a better one
@RCKicks also do you have any of your logo stickers so I can promote your channel in the northeast of England I will pay for them
Where is round 3 going to be? We have a lovely venue at Risby (not far from the other venues)- Minis?
Some talk of us all racing XMAXX's but nothing has been confirmed
@RCKickschannel that sounds like a great idea. We have raced xmaxxs (and others) on our channel. If there is space for another channel then we love to join in and may have ideal locations!
what is that white framed, black wheel car top left 17:24 ? looks awesome.
Kyosho Javelin with the option white bar set
Kev Talbot!
You can do vintage races, buggy or drag races something off you are not familiarize
Any clues what that pink is Vinny used?
PS-Yuck
Not sure but it’s a strong vibrant one, not a baby pink.
@@RCKickschannel it’s the perfect pink.
i like the car in pink
Don’t tell Vinny, he thinks it’s blue 🤫
What tyres did you use? Seems all had the same 😊
Schumacher race tyres
@@RCKickschannel aha thanks Gav
When a bunch of bashers go racing and it still looks like they're bashing 😂 jk good job guys 😄
Vinny and the Popalong guys are much more disciplined and super quick, the rest of us just want to mess about and have a laugh. Kevin was having a really bad time with issues from glitching, servo issues, body rolling (due to his fancy Porsche body) and a little bit of sabotage. Phil’s body was amazing, the skill level to be able to paint like that was off the chart. Shame we all smashed into him lol
Thought it was a race ? Not a banger race lol 😂
100% banger race lol
You would probably have been faster without the modifications Gav 😂. Kev cheating with the Porsche shell backfired 😂. So how many kept to the rules without any modifications 🤔😂?
I would guess half. 😂
@@RCKickschannel 🤣🤣
Looked like you guys all had a lot of fun, well except Kev I don't think he likes losing 😂
Is a different body shell cheating though?
@@davidmellish3295 as everybody else ran the same body then I would think so but the Porsche is not a good handling body in the RC racing
Had to give up watching too many adverts... 👀📺💵
Sorry, small channels need support if you want to see less adverts but I totally understand
Noah 😅
Hey!
@@noahsrcs1808 😉😂
Im shocked at your cheating Gav, cheaters never win. Just ask toyota, it dont matter how great your cheat is 😁 looked a great day out for you all 👍
It was a great mornings racing, if not a little early for me
@@RCKickschannel i know that feeling, a lot of the events i go to are 3 hours away. But setting off early does mean you miss the traffic 😂
claires link is not working.
I’ll go take a look. 👍🏻
Thanks, fixed now
