Ya, the minute I heard they were "numbering" the chassis, I knew I couldn't get one. They have made an effort to try to make this a special collection piece and not a standard model kit. That means overpriced and too hard to get for the majority of us rc'ers. Too bad. It's a lovely car, but I don't need a trophy. I need a real car to play and have fun with. Anyway, I do at least have a real A stamp '80s one bought new in '88 with a fresh set of modern electronics. I'll just have to play with that instead.
I would love to get a fresh body for it though as my bag of vintage wrecked, scratched, cut up, painted 3 times old shells is telling me that 18 year old me was a terrible painter! lol.

The Shumacher Pro Cat classic was a challenge to assemble for me.
Yep, it's not an easy one.
I started to get a Schumacher but the srevicabiiity turned me off.

@@huubbouten3041Yes it’s a standard RC10 but being a 40th, it’s a little more collectible one could argue vs just finding a used RC10. That said, I would guess 90% of 40th RC10s will be NIB or shelf queens so how special, 🤷🏼♂️ Time will tell I guess.
Those wing uprights look like coat hanger wire so at least it would be cheap to replace if you bend them, that's 40yr old engineering for you.

Finding it difficult to cut open the Associated Electronics rc10 (Caution:) outer box tape. I may never see the inside. Waited since 1990 for another one of these.

Can you provide any details on the black edging tape you used? It looks like a great idea to help clean up lines around windows and other detail areas.

Did you factor in inflation? Todays price for the RC 10 is cheaper than in the 80's. $179 in 1986 is $502 today

UK, EU and Australia had extremely limited numbers. I would guess the UK only got 100-250 units

A total racing icon from back in the day and still a good drive. Nothing like a modern but way better than you would think. Ultima JJ would be my call for one of the best vintage track cars that can still purchase as a kit today for OK money but if you want the best, well then you are looking at YZ10R and Predator territory.
@@RCKickschannel when I was aged 20. 33-34yrs ago I bought a chain driven 4wd samurai that was fast that I bought from model shop in debden Broadway in Essex for around £300 wished I kept it but as a youngster you buy and get rid of etc but know I'm back into rc bought my first rc car in 1986 the monster beetle so got a re realise 2015 to build and a blitzer beetle too still yet to build.

Yep so cool. Thats how we knew we would see a 40th Gold Pan. AR would never have gone to so much trouble for just the CC so it was really obvious we would see the Gold Pan again and we did! Just a shame so many fans in the EU, UK and Australia have not been able to purchase one and experience such an epic buggy.

I think we should.be all boycotting team associated. Not all of us are lucky enough to get them. They shouldn't just be for the lucky ones we should all be able to enjoy them
If you want an RC10.....go for a FANRC they do a worlds reproduction and if you want a Metal pan pay JC racing a visit. You can get a full RC10 these days without going anywhere near AE

Just face it Gavin it's a cheap Chinese Taiwan piece of crap that's why I never bought one of these cars because you had to go with the old antique ones because that's when the manufacturing was done precisely that sounds like something that's made for Americans but not in America
A lot of butt hurt people in the comments crying over price and availability… Early birds get the worms and it costs what it costs. Get over it! My 40th was an awesome build and I’m sure the 10T will be even better. If you can’t afford the stuff then you’re in the wrong hobby. Whah!
The price, yes you can debate value as each person's take on it is different. To some a Ferrari is exclusive hand crafted quality and thus value for money, while to others it's ridiculously overpriced for what you get when you can purchase 5 BMW cars for one Ferrari. The big issue I hear is availability in the US and Asia being relatively easy to obtain vs the extremely low numbers shipped to UK, EU or Australia. This then upsets Team Associated fans left out in the cold and for that reason, I do have sympathy.
@@RCKickschannel online orders and preorders aren’t exclusive to locale tho… Everyone everywhere with internet access has the same chance to secure an order. What happens on the retail side at local hobby shops where you are, I don’t know. I’d be more interested to know if orders were prioritized, proocessed and shipped to “Content Creators” such as yourself first over us “Normal Joes”. Seems like the kits were on YT before anyone else’s workbench… Now that would be something to complain about. Overall I think the marketing didn’t reach the proper people. I.e., those of us 45 and up who don’t have social media and don’t care to be on our phones 24/7. I also noticed a (2 per a customer) header next to the preorder button when I ordered the RC10T that was missing from the RC10 order page.

What happens if you spray Camel yellow then black? Why white then black?
