At Suhr, he was playing a guitar made from a template of a regular production model more or less suited to his preferences. With Charvel, he had a custom set of pickups made by a Fender Custom Shop wizard, a custom made Floyd Rose bridge just for his signature model, he even messed with simple stuff like the output jack placement and the fretboard inlays, there's the reason.

I know this is an older vid but no locking nut? Very kewl guitar built to his specs but touting ease of de-tuning w/o having a locking nut is not mind-blowing :p Amiright. I know, GG is a virtuoso, not doubting that.

How's he doing double stop bends in tune with the tremolo floating? I know he has a Tremel-no in the spring cavity but that only prevents the bridge from moving back when the mechanism is tightened. You can see he pulls the bridge back a little to give the chords vibrato so I know the Tremelo-no is not being used at this moment
