It's absolutely incredible, the feat you pulled off with the guillotine series/movie. This kinda top-notch production almost feels out of place on RUclips, I'd seriously love to have it on DVD or BluRay to proudly display on my shelf. I feel the same. I pre-ordered the blueprints purely because this is the only creative work on RUclips that has ever made me actually want to own a piece of it.
This is some of the absolute best content ever put on this platform, and yet it only has 1.7 million views across five videos after over two years since its inception, with two videos getting lucky and spiking those numbers. I saw when the numbers were even lower. This series should be reaching millions more. And yet the algorithm has barely pushed it. Rusty, you are a visionary in this line of work. The dedication is insane. I sincerely hope you put out more content like this. It wouldn’t be the same without people like you.
i am on a brand new youtube account right now for the first time in years. i saw this new upload on my main account's homepage and came here to subscribe to Rusty & play this video on this account. all that to say, when i searched him up on this device/account 5 minutes ago, I got two separate alerts from the yt app warning me that this is sensitive/dangerous/inappropriate content. his stuff must be so hard shadow-banned that the algorithm doesn't even feed his content to most people. it's kind of a testament to the quality of his work, i think, that he was able to harvest so many views from a platform that is actively working against him.
I sat down to watch this after not following the channel for like 3 years. A Noah's Ark saga that is a modern day philosophical epic alike The Old Man and the Sea or Candid, but for the 21st century. Genuinely shocking to see the guy I watched sing noose songs in middle school make this.
I just want to share how the ending made me feel. I've survived two attempts on my life, both times I expected just a "lights out", but that's not what happens afterwards for everyone else. The world keeps going and the people who should've reached out before are wrought with guilt. Often during those times of depression, the only thing that kept me going was the trauma I would inflict on those who loved me contradicted by me not wanting to live in the world I did. A combination of things after that second attempt opened my eyes so the speak (including these videos, and especially that livestream): I didn't want to die; I just wanted a better life. My life since then has honestly gotten far worse, but not because of new perspective. I lost my apartment, moved in with my brother. He kicked me out a few months later for no apparent reason, forcing me to move home with my parents. I am in a worst place now than where I was over two years ago, but now I know what I want. I want a life where I can be who I want, not putting on a mask just for people's approval. I want a life where I'm not always waiting for the next disaster. I want a life where my friends are my family; blood isn't what's important, it's the people who stick with you and want the best for you even at your worst. And I'm going to make all the changes that I can to have the life I want. If that means things get worse, then that's unfortunately what will happen, but it won't be a regret. As long as I still have my life, I'll be happy to do all that I can with it.
Rusty cage is one of the few people that I've seen use RUclips to create something with feeling, something that's worth investing and looking at, something that feels like it has actual purpose and meaning behind it.
Rusty Cage a true artist. From music to movies to writing, there is always a reason and a message he brings. May you find peace Rusty where ever you end up.
I'm extremely grateful for this series, it truly is a testament of how creators can actually produce and develop high-production, interesting and genuinely kino media, even on RUclips. Thanks Rusty, I'll enjoy this rewatch.
Still the best RUclips series of the last 4/5 years, unbelievable that someone pulled off such a long project with no sponsors, no ad revenue and with YT proactively limiting the visibility of the videos. Also the Chubbyemu cameo is still the funniest bit of the whole thing, it's so out of nowhere, love it
As I watch it in full you can fully appreciate what the meaning behind all this is. A story of a man, struggling with mental health and at every turn he finds that he's got nothing to live for, even to the bitter end when he tried to call a friend before he decided to end it. If you pay attention he has a rant every time he works and snaps out of it when real world things happen, he hears the storm but opens the tent and it's not even raining, he's struggling with his own duality of his purpose but he's struggling with his desire to give up. You hear it said so many times, "give up" "you're not doing enough" "you're not good enough" only to find the voice telling him all this, the masked man, literally a mask he himself owns, it's in his mind. The tragity is when he pulls the leaver his phone rings... It's too late... 👏😔
I will say, your last live stream did exactly what your one song said. You got us all to go to the guillotine together and with a twack and a thud and the sound of liquid splatter, the dead silence till the stream cut off. Finally!! Hope you're still alive young man
This is absolutely crazy. I just checked today to see if any new video had dropped since last time, was left saddened, and then this! Yes!
emp lemon has been awfully quiet ever since this dropped
I feel like Rusty could become one of those off-the-beaten-path tourist traps. Come see Rusty Cage's Lemon Chopper! Sell books, merch, and, of course, fresh lemonaid.
your videos are so important to watch and understand the twisted world we live in
Still absolutely incredible on the rewatch, even after watching all the others. I know your rotting head still has more projects in there, but don't be too awful on yourself. This day and age is moving faster and faster with content and technology, and even with that, from your first knife song, I've enjoyed every piece of your artistry throughout the years.
I hope whatever you're doing, you take some time to yourself, have some lemonade, and just breathe a bit. It's all shit, but at least in this corner, you've got a dedicated base of people who want to see you succeed and spread your videos where we can. I wish you the best Uncle Rusty, you've helped me through a lot of dark times. I'll happily wait years to see your next piece of media.
