Thanks for this Matt! You put so much work (late in the day) into these videos. Much appreciated. I want one but I can't make my mind up on which colour haha! The Ice Green is growing on me now I've seen it in a video. Thanks again. Oh and just to add, I noticed these Ukes have got a big voice!! P.S. Loved the blooper! That's why I tell people to come to you or SUS and not buy off Amazon. Don't make the same mistake I did!
The desire to get the video done, no matter if it was late on a Friday night, was partly motivated by the excitement at the new models, and partly out of fear from the big bill that arrived with them, haha! And I left the blooper in as my annoyance at the problem was overridden by the delight at a simple fix (as opposed to the usual grumping, cursing and eventual resolution that wouldn't have been 'snappy' viewing!)
Just seen on your site. Bought the concert version from you and it is just great value and sounds great. These sound so clear. Got to say UAS is in overdrive and I think there are colours for ever occasion. Must be the first store in the world to have these. Have been dying to hear them thanks made my Friday night. Have a great week.
Thanks Mike. They arrived at 9.30am and it's now 9.00pm - they have dominated my day! Leaving the office now... Will pick up a bottle on the way I think!
@@WorldofUkes Deserved. Enjoy.
A temptation - though now I’m left with the thought I would watch live ukulele set-up videos!
There's usually more effort, less immediate success and more cursing than that example!
Wow, awesome! I think I like the green one the best. I heard Kalei from the ukulele site podcast mention these being in the making a year or so ago. Cool to see them finally becoming available. Is that mother of pearl for the dancing man on the darker models? Thanks for sharing.
I think it might be 'pearloid', rather than mother of pearl. It looks like it is, but I wonder if at this price point it can't be.
@@WorldofUkes Yeah I’d bet you are right, I didn’t think about that. If it was mother of Pearl they probably would have specified.
@@psych336 I always go by the rule that if its a good thing, they'd tell you!
Excellent review but please could you show the gig bag or case, at this entre level point, if the bag is not up to scratch, you could add £30 to £50 pounds to the start-up cost. Or almost a 1/3 of the cost or your first Ukulele, to buy a better case.Thanks.
Yes, I agree... I thought about that but only once the camera was rolling! It is a good one, and good enough for this uke, for sure.
Put it down to making videos at 8pm on a Friday night!
I'll photograph the bag and add it to the listings on the website tomorrow.
Thanks for making this video, Matt. As an earth tone enthusiast, the almond milk and forest models hold really strong appeal for me. If Anuenue had released these at the same time they released the concerts, I most certainly would have ordered one. And if I’m ever looking at tenors again, I still may do so. I’m curious about your opinion, though - I thought the tone of the concert version of this was just more lively and vibrant. What I mean to say is, I thought the concert version, sound-wise, was more outstanding in its price range than the tenor sounds to me. But unlike me, you’ve actually played both of them - what do you think?
Yes, I understand what you mean. The tenor size is naturally a little fuller, so there's not the same level of immediate, zingy, brightness as with the concert. And there's more choice in tenor size, choice of good stuff that is! Ultimately, I like the fact that you can get something that looks completely different, without it being something that's just a novelty. And there were people who thought the concerts were a little too bright... so there's personal choice in there too.
(Oh, and before I did this video I recorded the first half of the one you requested!)
Fantastic, Matt! Looking forward to it.
Thanks very much for this. I just purchased the blue tenor her in Australia. Very happy with the tone. Unfortunately after just one week i see the neck has faded the length of the A string. Contacted the dealer who told me i need to put lemon oil on it. Surely this isn't normal after just 1 week.
Is this how you would deal with my issue or should i insist on replacement or refund?
Are we talking about the fingerboard here? I don't suppose there's any chance it could have been like that to start with? You do get lighter sections sometimes, natural features of the wood. It seems strange to fade.
I would check and oil a dry fingerboard before it went out, but would expect that then be fine for months and months, and even then, not causing it to fade.
As for how I would deal with it, I might well ask if you could try lemon oil - not as as the ultimate solution, but just in case that sorts everything out and saves you the hassle of a return. Yes, if it did work out well, it would save me the time too... but it would be easier all around.
I would, if you didn't have any, send you some to try I think.
Thanks very much for taking time to respond. I'm very disappointed with the service I have received. I'm leaning towards sending it back. I don't expect any faults after a week.
Pity because I really like the ukulele. Would buy from you but postage to Australia would be ridiculous....thanks again,
No, it's odd - these (and most things) are invulnerable from faults, but usually they'd be spotted before the went out (certainly here). I am still a bit puzzled by what it is - fading fingerboards is a new one on me.
Sorry I can't send a photo. The fade is on the A string, the length of the fingerboard. Like it has been used for years.
I've had it 1 week. Yes I agree it should have been noticed before I received it. Also the cloth? Finger guard is frayed in one area. It's the blue one, not that the colour matters.
Checked the seller website. Close up shots of the ukulele, clearly do not show any fading on the fingerboard.
Very disappointing
Thanks very much for your concerns and assistance.
What’s the difference between the green and blue
One's green and one's blue. (That sounds sarcastic but it's almost the only difference). More intricate fingerboard markers and a painted headstock on the green.
If you're asking why the green is more expensive... I don't know, other than they cost me more!
Can shipping at Malaysia?
Yes, for £25 (the info is in he description of each of these - you just need to add that shipping cost to your basket alongside the ukulele).
I know you spoke about tone but is it just me I hear a difference on the rosewood fret board, just want to know is it just me are can anyone else hear something different
I do feel, listening back, that it's slightly warmer with the rosewood. I didn't get that at the time, while playing, perhaps... but on listening back, I don't think you're imagining a difference.
@@WorldofUkes I did get the concert from yourself and I love it, ya the earth green sounded slightly deeper and I like that, unfortunately my eyes favour the other colours
@@440robin1 You could always go brighter colour and low G?
@@WorldofUkes yep I have a low G on my concert and I would be doing that, with it being bright it handles it perfectly to me also the moonbird I got from you handles the low G as well, or I’m just a low G person
@@440robin1 I think the punch of spruce is always a good match for low G (which can dominate a bit, unless you've got some brightness with the other strings to balance it out). So, you're probably just finding the low G and spruce combo works for you, as it does for me!
