    Great review ! Got an 💛Anuenue Golden Glow UC 10 💛for almost a year now and the only complain I had was the chords that making a high pitched sound and hurted a little my fingers cos a bit too thin. Switched for Aquila's New Nylgut and its perfect ! Nothing moved, still in tune, still in great shape ! Even the pointy part of the rubber pick guard is still there (but can be removed for the ones annoyed with it)

    • @MrVilou
      @MrVilou Год назад +1

      @@pedrosanchezpalma4443 Well, I bought a set of chords and changed them right after the original set of 4 chords snaped. (When only one or two chords snaps, it's advised to change the whole set)
      It is a little less high pitched from the original (almost the same) but overall, WAY MORE confortable while playing (fast chord positon changes don't hurt anymore).
      The sound still as lovely & unique as when i bought it. Mechanics makes the uke stay in tunes for very long period. (You need to stretch them a little after installed, just before any tune adjustement. You can also put some graphite pencil into each holes of the fret nut, it helps a lot for staying in tune)
      If you want a more round (traditional ?) sound for the uke, i suggest as others did in the comment, to put a Low G on it.
      Have great time with your AnueNue, its a damn fine instrument. :)

      Hi Pedro - I only ever review with original strings (unless on a rare occasion I've had a string break in testing it). The reason being that strings are totally personal and subjective. What I think of what a uke comes with doesn't matter as buyers will likely switch to their preferred brand if they buy one, and it's not for me to tell them which they should pick.

    I ordered one of these in the Quiet Shade color (gray). They are made in China and Anuenue here in the USA did not do a quality control check before sending it out. The first few frets near the headstock were so sharp that they cut my finger when I was checking for unfinished edges. The action was too high, and the vinyl pickguard was coming up all around the edges. HOWEVER, I will say that this ukulele has excellent intonation, incredible sustain, and the volume is loud! I think I just got one that slipped through QC.

    • @GotAUkulele
      @GotAUkulele  2 года назад +1

      Ooh - that's a tough one - and my comments are COMPLETELY subjective. First - I sense no difference in feel in playing on these so think it is just the look. Fret dressing is good on both. I like the look of maple as I adore my Fender guitars (with maple boards) but that is the subjective thing. These are not, however, like Fender guitar maple boards - Fender necks are glossy and slippy on the face - this is more matte. But I do still like the look. At long last, the recognition that the front of the uke gets scratched there! Most of my instruments I've had to stick on phone/tablet screen protectors cut to shape to protect them because I wear them there. But this leads me on to another gripe - most ukes larger than soprano extend the fretboard beyond the body joint - that's the bit I hit with my fingers when strumming (OW)! Considering that, even if you play up the fretboard, very few people go beyond fret 12 or 14, why not finish it there? At least, some uke makers could give us the option?

    Painting ukuleles colors like that cheapens the instrument in my view. Such a thing points to plastic and cheapness regardless of what is underneath. It repeals the seriousness that the instrument deserves. Nothing beats the beauty of wood grain. My tastes. But as usual, you do a great job of reviewing it.

      I'd agree that coloured ukes are not for everyone - but take a look at the aNueNue Lion - talk about colour - and that is a serious high end instrument!

      @@GotAUkulele Thank you. I will as I'm starting to figure out which one I'll buy that is mid-range tenor. Thanks for your input.

      I don’t know if there’s any difference in how the other colors are applied, but in the black case, the finish is almost like a wash, rather than a painted surface. It has very much the look and feel of the wood, except it’s black. You can still see and feel the texture, unlike on my glossy wood one. I quite like it. And I quite like my glossy one as well. And it works well for those times you don’t want to be so “serious!”
