In most parts of China, tea is a beverage added to restaurants, just like when you go to eat, restaurants will provide tea, but this tea may not necessarily be good tea. If people just want to drink tea, they will buy tea leave and make it themselves, just like making coffee at home. If you want to find a place to try Chinese tea, I suggest you go to a tea shop where you can taste it for free. If you are in Guangdong, you can try morning tea, which can provide better tea and Dim sum. Thanks for adding the bit of colonial history of Shanghai ( Shanghai was carved up into different foreign concessions /occupations with signs such as “No dogs and Chinese allowed” on entrances!)); which should make us appreciate the Communist/socialist revolution for sovereignty and the current success of the People’s Republic of China!👍👍👍
China has undergone a thorough socialist revolution, eliminating feudal remnants of landlords, foreign compradors, and imperialist forces. China is completely independent and does not have to obey orders from the United States. There are not many countries in the world that are not threatened by the United States, and China is considered one.
Actually, concessions were abolished in 1945 after WWII victory when China first stepped on the world stage as the winner. So nothing to do with the Communist revolution! Communists have brought nothing but misery to the city. Shanghai stopped developing until 1990s. She was the biggest and best city in the Far East before WWII.
I will give you a suggestion. Brazil and the United Kingdom are the two main countries that import Chinese electric vehicles. It would be helpful for your channel to find some Chinese electric vehicles (at least 2 years ahead of exports to your country) while traveling, because Chinese electric vehicles are amazing

Great video and tips .. I was in Shanghai recently and stayed at the Hyatt which was walking distance from the Pearl tower. There is a spot where people took selfies of themselves and the 3 tallest buildings by placing phones on the ground. Amazing shots in the evenings.

You are very brave and came to China despite the warnings of the media. Very good! In the Western media, China is all negative. They describe China as a poor and backward country, evil communism, and an economy that is about to collapse. If you go to China's small counties and third-tier cities, you will also find that China is very clean. There are no homeless, thieves, guns, drugs, LGBQ+ and other problems.I strongly recommend you to visit the rural areas of Zhejiang. Shanghai is very close to the rural areas of Zhejiang. What you see with your own eyes will surprise you! !

As a Shanghai local, you have a very accurate understanding of the history of the concession area
Shanghai ❤ es muy hermosa
Traveling is a great education. I learned this from visiting Italy, where my sister and her husband live.
The ’french’ street you show with platane trees and low buildings : it looks actually really like walking in a french city in France.
wait,platane is a French word?

I will give you a suggestion. Brazil and the United Kingdom are the two main countries that import Chinese electric vehicles. It would be helpful for your channel to find some Chinese electric vehicles (at least 2 years ahead of exports to your country) while traveling, because Chinese electric vehicles are amazing
thankyou for sharing nice vlog 🥰👌🏼
Shanghai is a MEGA city. Also I recommend the nearby cities like Suzhou, Wuxi, Hangzhou, Nanjing,Ningbo. You can find other beautiful views or nice food there.
✨💖China love and peace!
Carol n Chris, Thank you for the video. It was entertaining and informative.
Request could you do a video or intimate as to how do you stay connected, what all AAPs and social media you are using or one should have while travelling to China.TIA.
i think i love Shanghai now
Great video and tips ..
I was in Shanghai recently and stayed at the Hyatt which was walking distance from the Pearl tower. There is a spot where people took selfies of themselves and the 3 tallest buildings by placing phones on the ground. Amazing shots in the evenings.
I expect $14 covering a whole tea set and hot water to refill that enables people sit there for hours relaxation. The price is cheap for tea drinker because it can't be high quality tea.
I asked her if it was just the pot or a cup but she said a cup for only one person. She seemed to speak good English but maybe she said it wrong or got confused by what I meant between the pot and cup?
@@JumpingPlaces Definitely $14 for a pot, no one selling tea by cups in tea house in China, not those baverages called ''tea'' of course.
@@vjthemad4852thanks for the clarification, unfortunately we had a language barrier issue then
Love the videos you guys made since I am a local Shanghainess. Btw, welcome to China. Next time you can try Hangzhou, I highly recommend this city to travel.
Are you guys still in China? My favorite RUclips couple. We were both in Shanghai at about the same time, probably. I am now in Wuhan, I hope to bump into you guys while you are in China. Oh! it is pity you guys are on the 144 hrs visa. I hope to meet you guys one day. Enjoy your China trip.
I'm very glad to see your video. I haven't been to Shanghai for ten years. I, who am in Pyongyang, North Korea, envy you. Have a good time.
Wow I never knew Shanghai was like that!! I have got to visit
Go and visit Georgia, old culture, old history, picturesque views, sea, mountains, museums, climate in just height hour drive changing from semidesert to semitropics. Great food, wont regret.
Chains people's is very nice and and Chaina is awesome place to visit guys you should also add the prices of the hotels so that the people's in overseas know where is the cheapest place to stay
Nice video but you kinda missed the best part....the Oriental Pearl Tower! The line is very, very, very long but well worth it.
would be cool i'm sure :D
Gday Chris and Carol! After watching your Beijing vlogg at Forbidden City. I remember how exciting it was to be in the Palace when I visit the city 10yrs ago. But then I realised that you forgot to visit the Great Wall Of China in Beijing! Or maybe you already went there before? Anyway Shanghai is another exciting City Specially the Yuyuan Garden and the best Dumpling is in that complex. Anyway enjoy your Asian travel and hope to see you guys Down Under Here in Sydney one day? cheers Ronaldo
They did a vid on the Great Wall last week.
I’m surprised the teahouse was so expensive. You and Carol are better off buying bottle tea. It’s probably just as good
因为那是一壶茶而且可以像咖啡馆一样度过整个下午时光,还有最重要的一点那可是观光区域
i like your history perspective
No beggars, tents, drug dealers, homeless people to be seen… definitely not the USA or the Land of the Free 🤣🤣🤣
You are talking like the white man, how many Natives you met in America? 🇲🇽
You should Xplore - :
1) Xinjiang
2) Urumqi
3) Tibet
4) Inner Mongolia etc.☝️🇨🇳
Those will Show you the **TRUE Beauty of CHINA🇨🇳**
😂Urumqi is Just a city of xinjiang province
I love China ❤❤❤
very enjoy your video style
It'd be great if you could also tell us about the weather of the places that you jump to. Is it hot? Cold? Humid? Dry? The temperature? Clothing options necessary? Etc. Thanks for the content!
Am loving this video I’m going to Shanghai in 2026 and so excited looking amazing xxxx
