Although I understand the need to urbanize the city in such a short period due to the fast economic growth, I just wish they had preserved more buildings with Chinese historical architecture. China has thousands of years of history and i wish they show more of it in the way they build. Greetings from Pakistan 💚
Unfortunately some were heavily damaged during Cultural Revolution of Mao and his co-horts. Fortunately, En Lai and later on Deng were able re build some. The rest were totally destroyed esp temples and artifacts from ancient China.

I lived in China for two years... visiting 17 cities during my time working there. My favorite country on earth! I can't wait to return..... Slava does a wonderful job with his informative videos.
As always Slava, great video! 😊👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
I like that you also talk to locals. That's what 99% of the travel youtubers lack. Amazing videos!

I visited Shanghai in May 2024, very nice City, one of my memorable holidays with so many interesting places to visit.
My favourite spots are The Bund & Huangpu Cruise at night, wow! So mesmerisable!
I even had Malaysian cuisine in Shanghai, the famous NASI LEMAK!
Keep it up, well done!
If you ever go to Chongqing I would love a video about it, I feel like it's the coolest city in China, and someone who makes as good videos as you Slava I am sure would do that city justice. I loved this video, your videos are always great. Your best video every for me might still be your Moscow video :)
Thanks for the idea 👍
Sounds good!
@@RussianPlus hangzhou is the best city in china
@@realcoolvision what a 💩 place

It should be the best vlog about Shanghai. Thank you!
Great video, it looks like a fascinating place!
It is!
such a vibrant city with great people!!
Shanghai looks like an incredible city.
The rest were totally destroyed esp temples and artifacts from ancient China.
shanghai is a 200years new city with not much ancient architecture , while u can see ancient city 200km north, suzhou a 2000years old city with world heritage sites.
@@lukasloh2509 They didn't damage buildings, in fact they wanted to preserve their culture and cultural properties.
@@lukasloh2509That’s bullshit, the most damage was made when Japanese bombed Shanghai during WW2 not cultural revolution for sure.
@@lukasloh2509胡说八道个屁,不懂就查一下资料反而毛时期更多是保护建筑,还有周恩来是死在毛泽东之前不懂就了解再胡说八道。
This video is refreshing ' very nice that shows China is thriving , rather collapsing as other You Tube negative videos on China.

@@Eren_wk Thx!!! ❤️ Have u ever visited Xi’an before? If not yet, in the future if u have the chance, don’t hesitate to check it out! Not only Terracotta Army, try the most famous Roujiamo (Chinese type of burger but way better than that) Xi’an also has a well-known nickname “Capital of Carbs”, we have numerous kinds of tasty noodles and buns 🙌🏻
