I'm glad to see you come to China. If you encounter problems in China, you can always consult the young people you meet around you. They will give you the most enthusiastic help because they are exposed to the forefront of science and technology. Regarding Chinese food, you can consult the merchants on how to eat it, and they will be happy to teach you. I hope you have a happy journey in China.
@@kevinaa114 This is true, but these towns were built mainly of wood, and over the years they were destroyed by war and rebuilt. You can't preserve an old, beautiful building like Venice. But if you talk about the history of these towns dating back to 100 BC, the historical environment of China determined that the north produced warriors to defend against and invade the nomads, and the south produced grain to feed these warriors. At that time, we did not have more technology to transport food, mainly through land transport and river transport to ensure the delivery of food to the north, so the town you see today was only to protect the river transport of small forts and posts for troops to rest, people around these buildings slowly developed into towns, forming today's towns.
im surprise that i havent seen you try Jian bing in any of the videos yet ?! highly recommend its a Chinese savoury crepe very common for breakfast (crepe itself + egg + soybean paste + coriander + fried bean curd for crunchy texture some places might put process meat similar to spam and optional chilli paste as well) had to describe it incase you might not like the ingredient lol. another common breakfast they have is the fried chinese donut (long stick of fried dough) and fresh un sweeten soybean milk.

My grandma is from that town Zhu Jia Jiao. I spent my childhood summer there before it became a tourist attraction. I love to get away from the modern city and hang out with my cousins there. My aunt's house is still there and is being rented out. Last time (this summer) I was there it was under construction, because that house was more than 100 years old. When I stood there the house was so much smaller than I thought. You chose the right time to go there, off season time. The sticky rice with pork belly is the authentic local food. The bugs and the fried dough are actually not. I am glad you had a good experience there!
went to the same town in Shanghai and ate in a local restaurant which has many western oil paintings on the walls. the food in this restaurant is fantastic. 😃
If you have time, I highly recommend visiting Chengdu, a city in the west of China, where you can see giant pandas and enjoy many delicious foods, such as hot pot.😊
salamanders are amphibians. They are closer related to frogs. But this species is a consider living fossil that remain same as 165 million years ago. Never seen these colors though.
Hi, nice video… Are you from Ireland as you have a Northern Irish accent 😅 Them swimming things I actually thought they are newts as they can live in and out of water, remember seeing them back in yestayears in school trip exotic pets That braised pork looks 👌
Is kind of strange to me to call an ancient water town (and other even more ancient ones) the Venice of Shanghai when they are actually older than Venice itself.
the fish with long legs is a giant salamander, scientifically known as the giant salamander. The comb and horn scraper I bought later are made of buffalo horns. Using them to wipe your body or face can help you calm down and sleep. It's a good thing.

if you went during the winter which it seems like from the way you said it was cold 😂, it's off season for tourists. if you are about during a work day, you might also notice that a lot of these tourists are older. one thing older chinese don't like is the cold so it's going to be a lot emptier at tourist places during these months. probably better for you because you probably would not like the sea of people you get during peak season lol.

Let me tell you what kind of fish it is, translated by the merchants, it is called a baby fish or a hexagonal dinosaur fish, in fact, it is a salamander, which can be purchased on Chinese shopping platforms, and it is sold by size, about 1.3~2.5 pounds, and there are many colors now, which are completely the result of artificial breeding.
that lady who is trying to sell the Mahua snack to you is really using a bad sales tactics hahaha. She did say something not that nice but I guess it's her way of selling things.
