You for very well for only drawing for 3 years! Thanks for sharing your stuff with us. Even though I've been retired for several years now, I do remember being tied to the desk. Get up out of there as often as possible! Your mental health and eyes both will thank you for it!

Thanks for the reminder, Tracie! My body does love me more when I take my sketchbook outside.

Awesome little duckies! Yes I am starting to find it hard to do anything at my lunch. I find myself just not wanting to leave the area because there is nothing in walking distance from the office I work. I pretty much have sketched all I can there and have got in a lazy moment lately. I got to change it and figure something out. I have lost my spunk 😢. Thanks for sharing your time with us all and have an amazing day!

I totally feel you on that. I'm starting to "run out" of things to sketch, even though I know it's impossible to truly "run out". I think what some people do is they sketch the same spot over and over again in different lightings and different weathers... it becomes a worthy pursuit that way. I just haven't put in the effort for that just yet.

Nice quick sketch! I often go to the park close to my office. Painting greenery or birds or sometimes I try people but this is hard because they are all in a rush

Becky, isn't it possible to take your lunch outside? It'd really help your eyes and your body to unwind a bit. Those ducks really are 'in your face', aren't they!!!! They seem really out of character for that scene. Are they a permanent feature? I'm glad they gave you a break, and it was interesting to see how you handled it. That hazy background was a really good backdrop. 😊
Ps: It was interesting to hear you talking about cooking. It's one of my favourite things to do. An a complete coincidence, I cooked a Chinese meal this evening. It's probably my favourite genre of cooking at the moment, especially as they're easy to cook for one person.

Omigosh, please tell me more about the dishes that you have cooked up!
It is indeed possible to take my food outside. I'm just a bit lazy :p my lunch is usually hot food (rice and something) and does require sitting down somewhere to properly eat it. And balancing both my lunchbox and sketchbook on my lap can be quite a challenge :p

@@beckyisj I would gladly share that recipe or others with you, but you dont have an email address listed and I don't do other social media.
As for lunch, I eat first and sketch after, following experiments of trying to do both together, even at the table... Mine's usually a sandwich - not too problematic, but if the tomatoes that almost always go with it are the small cherry ones and not the small, longer type, they can squirt everywhere (sometimes the shop doesn't have the longer ones) - and the chopped fruit in fresh orange juice likes to take a look at what I'm doing before going to my mouth.... 😄 (All made at home, btw, and fit into a zipped, A5-size, book-shaped thermal lunchbox).
But if you've only got a 30 minute lunch break, I guess it's not so easy if you want to sketch every day. Otherwise, just getting outside to sit somewhere - on one of those ledges, perhaps? - will make a huge difference. 😊
