Why is no one talking about how wood and iron blocks can stop recoveries with hit boxes unlike dirt
Because it's something that while great isn't necessarily practical in most situations because u generally have an abundance of dirt
@@kittengold9814 that is true but if you build a lot with dirt whether it’s to block projectiles or something else, by the second or third stock you pretty easily can get rid of all of the dirt. It still is pretty situational tho and other things can definitely be better

Remember when we thought the learning curve for Min MIn was going to be tough? I got pretty good with her in the first few days of her release. But Steve is going to be much harder. I'm also very interested, I want to learn how to play him. I also can't wait to see what is done with him in the future

I've got some tips for what you can do when you die as Steve. Let's say you die and you have a diamond, I would highly recommend you craft a diamond tool as quickly as possible when you get back on stage so that you can do more damage. I would also suggest that if you don't have a diamond but you have gold, I would try to craft a gold tool as fast as possible so that you can mine materials faster. Another thing you can do is mine as many materials as possible when you get back to the ground if you don't have gold or diamonds. It's better to gather more materials over trying to chase the opponent. Only chase the opponent if you are good on materials, otherwise you should gather materials or craft a diamond/gold tool when you get back to the stage.
If you are at a high percent, all your tools have broke, you have diamond/gold, and you are one stock above your opponent I would not craft until you are killed. Reason being is that if you are high percents, you will die very easily and it would be a waste of a diamond/gold if you immediately crafted one when you have no tools. Try to put on a little bit of damage on your opponent with your punches or punch the ground for extra materials before you die. Only craft materials at high percents if you are on your very last stock.
One last tip is don't waste your time t-bagging, taunting, or building an L on the opponent when they die. Only do that if you are committed to trashing on people and/or you are good on materials. Instead if you are playing the character in a serious manner, use your time to mine materials or craft tools. This is especially useful if you get a star or screen KO. If you have a lot of materials already then feel free to trash on the opponent, otherwise if you aren't doing good on materials do not waste your time trashing on the opponent and instead use those precious seconds to gather materials and/or craft tools.

I agree, his options, trapping, edgeguarding, and his amazing matchups against many top tiers means that he has a lot of potential.

We’re gonna see a lot of top tier smash players having Steve as an alternative fighter due to how he literally makes some characters recoveries irrelevant. He’ll be used as a counter pick pretty often
He is busted but require so much time to only be secondary, it would be interesting if veteran players maining him too
In my opinion, Steve is a multi-tier fighter. He's able to craft better weapons, some of his attacks don't work if you don't have much materials, and he can be played in many different play styles.
You can actually get less shield drop lag by summoning the crafting table and then attacking. I think 7 frames instead of 11.
As someone who has found a new main with this DLC, this video is very helpful, thank you guys

Steve was the reason I got smash and only played him since when I tried dark Samus ( cuz she looked sick ) I realized that you have a LOT to take care of as Steve. Well... A lot more the most of the other fighter out there.

Steve is the kind of fighter where if you get counter picked, you get countered hard. But if you counter someone yourself, Steve is ridiculos. I still think Steve is A tier.

Steve is sick! Played, practiced, and learned his move set! he is so optimal to get into players heads! I love him playing him for a month straight
I feel like Steve is going to be mid tier since his moves are pretty predictable. But who knows? I don't think he's a broken character by any means but he's definitely does have a good combo game that's easy to execute. The blocks can get in the way but they're not unfair since they can be broken and they only stick around a short time.
His quick frame data and tricky animations makes him very hard to telegraph. He does have some very good moves in his kit but he needs to be optomized first. I'd put him around high tier for his current results and his so far good playerbase.

I think Steve is going to be very viable and I believe he will be a high tier maybe a top tier depending on how he is utilized
