You can also use packable daypacks as your packing cube!

True. Though I’ve never used it that way before, it makes sense and saves room while still making it functional 👍🏽

And, Bihn makes two perfectly rectangular packing cubes that have straps and hence double as day packs (this Daylight is a slightly teardrop shape which is less efficient inside rectangular luggage but works well as an packing cube inside a larger teardrop day pack. An alternative use is as a "pullout" bag inside a larger carry-on luggage that might be at risk for gate checking.

A few things - - I've been a tom bihn fan for many years. 1) all of their bags will keep your contents dry even in the pouring rain. 2) women will like this as a work backpack choice because of its lighter/slimmer profile. It also has a grab handle on top. 3) the front pocket is a great pocket for a water bottle and umbrella. And, 4) the way to solve the front-pocket organizational dilemma is to buy a Tom Bihn Freudian Slip. I think the S19 fits, and it adds some structure. If you don't want to use that much real estate with that large of an FS, try a smaller one. Then you can move it from one bag to another.

maryhazlett hmmm... interesting, I never thought of using a Freudian slip in the FRONT pocket, never seen it done before. Assumed it just wouldn’t fit. If you think it’ll fit and be able to stay in place secured in the front pocket, it’s def worth considering. Thanks.

@@carrygodmother8360 You just stock the top part under the "flap" above the diagonal zipper. I learned about this from a tip on the Tom Bihn Forum.

Do you still have this pack, and would you consider parting with it?
