NOTE: the Paragon technically does not have a false bottom. That said, it's padded enough on the bottom for most EDC use cases.

A very helpful comparison ahead of tomorrow's update, thank you!! Just popping in to edit my comment as the question of the price difference between the DLBP and the Paragon was answered on the TB forums. Thanks so much again for the detailed look at the two bags!

Found this video helpful even though it's 2 years old. Just came across the paragaon and also wondered what the taiga halcyon looked like outside of product photos. You went over both! Was hoping the taiga was a little more tan but as you mentioned, it kind of reminds me of UCP with that greyish/sage green color to it. Hoping they release or bring back more black halcyon.

I’m glad the two front panel zipper slots don’t overlap. Stuff won’t bunch up. I haven’t gotten the Daylight to work for me as a personal item trial packed for a flight, and I can’t use it locally due to lack of a quality ultralight laptop slot. On the other hand I’ve used both styles of convertible packing cubes on flight, under seat.

I plan on selling my Synapse 25 to get this new model. It seems a lot better for me who doesn't really have much stuff. The shape of the Synapse is kinda difficult for me to use when fully packed as it extends out too much for my liking lol

Hey Spencer thanks for the review! I was wondering, how well does a side kick fit into that front pocket?

    Awesome review!
Do you happen to own an Aeronaut 30 or 45? I'd love to know if those bag can be squeezed into the rear backpack strap compartment. Would be cool to store it there and pull it out when needed as a daypack or if you need to check the Aeronaut.

That's a really interesting question. I'll check it out and let you know!

Checked it out: I definitely can't fit it in the back of my A30 and I don't have an A45 to test with, but I'd imagine that i won't work with the A45 either because it doesn't even close to fit in the A30. Bottom line, if you want a packable day pack, I'd do the Daylight all the way.

To me the color looks like a ‘Eucalyptus green’. We have a tree species in Australia called Eucalyptus tree, and koalas love eating the leaves from the Eucalyptus.

I'd love the Paragon for travelling light. Had been looking at Jansport-style packs. Would 2 packing cubes fit inside? Model or approximate cube dimensions? Would use with Icon as personal item. Also interested to see if a Side Kick fits in exterior pocket. Great review!

Could the paragon lay flat inside a larger travel pack. Like a GR2 or Nomatic travel bag? Or would it be too bulky? When I travel I normally lay my daylight flat in my larger bag as it doesn’t take up much space.

Not so keen on the Tiaga. The blue DLBP was so much nicer to me...

Thanks for the video! Do you think the Paragon will fit inside an Aeronaut 45? For packing inside the A45 and used when arrive at destination. Thanks!

@@macheezm0 unfortunately no. The Paragon can't be rolled effectively.
