People were NOT ready for a Hulk film like this. It reeks of the 2000s and 90s Hulk source material. It’s deep and slow burning, then it explodes when Bruce Hulks out. Doing CG humans was a hard task, but ILM has done what was thought to be the impossible before during the 90's. The way the skin was rendered for the time was pretty good even before subsurface scattering became a thing.
This CGI looked great for 2003. I know people complained that the Hulk looked like Shrek but It overall the CGI looks great for it's it time. In fact it looks ten times better than 2022 She Hulk.
Bruce: You found me. Betty: You weren't that hard to find. Bruce: Yes I was. Wow! Just, wow! This short exchange conveyed so much depth of how Bruce gets completely lost when he's overcome by rage and The Hulk takes over. The 2003 Version for me showed the pure, visceral, intense rage of The Hulk on one hand, and the softening effect of Betty Ross on the other. And MCU gives us a freaking lullaby. I started out really liking Mark Rufallos Hulk, but by Endgame I despised his version intensely and now have come to appreciate both the 2003 and 2008 versions even more. Damn you Marvel! It might not have been for everyone but I like how bold this Hulk movie was and didn’t pander to box ticking requirements for typical superhero movies. It told a story in a very unique way and it’s very deep for a superhero film. It’s more of a story about internal struggle and rage due to past trauma as opposed to a generic superhero flick and that’s why it’s my favourite hulk movie to date.
I know right? He's not just some monster, he's the dark part of Bruces psyche. He constantly mocks Bruce, calling him puny which is why he feels he has to save him
Because they don't know how to write that character, it's what they do when they have nothing else, make a joke. Thor is another character they threw under the bus for a joke. I really liked Thor 1 & Avengers when Asgardians spoke in a Shakespearean way. They killed off everyone he knew and blew up his planet over the course up to endgame. Why? over the perception of his prestige & privilege, so therefor in order to progress his story and humanize him he must fall from grace. The problem is, they have yet to give him the turn around for a full character revolution to get back to grace. To truly be worthy and be more than human. Tony's Arch was to sacrifice himself as was called out by Cap in Avengers 1, Caps arch was finally admitting his faults to himself and to tell Tony about his parents and after that he could lift Thor's Hammer. Thor has yet to have his comeback moment. Some would say Endgame which was the beginning of that turn but we didn't get to see him fulfill that turn around and now by Thor 4 he's going to die & sacrifice himself even though A that's a copy of Iron Man and B doesn't satisfy the characters full revolution. In order to satisfy Thor's full arch he must become more than worthy. He should take over for King Oden and supersede him and rule the 9 realms like he was supposed to do in Thor 1 before falling from grace.
@@NuggetGX and Taika is the greatest thing since slice bread, we know. It's marketing. Thor 3 was funny I'll give it that and better than 2 but Thor 1 is a good movie commonly overlooked. The intro to Asgard is gorgeous, Lady Sif, Portman & Dennings are 🤤, You have Renee Russo AND Sir Anthony 'Hannibal' Hopkins as MF Odin. C'mon. He must show himself worthy to not only his father but to himself as a hero without power. There is a easter egg with the scratch along his eye from the Destroyer. Nice and I really don't mind this movie, even if the CGI effects aren't perfect. I also feel really sorry for Bruce Banner aka the Hulk since his origin is tragic and plus, the Hulk isn't really a bad guy or a villain; he's a false antagonist. Hulk's anger is mostly justified at times too. That hug at the end of the video was very touching, sweet, and quite emotional.

100% and everyone says this cgi sucks never undestood that.
This hulk’s CGI has tons of layers on skin.
Doing CG humans was a hard task, but ILM has done what was thought to be the impossible before during the 90's. The way the skin was rendered for the time was pretty good even before subsurface scattering became a thing.
There's plenty good about this movie
I think the fact that most of the cgi for this film went into the hulk itself helped a lot, I feel like the rest was very practical and very low cgi
How the hell does this look better then She Hulk, they really dropped the ball
I Love That Hulk Movie From
Universal Pictures & Marvel (2003)
The Incredible Hulk (2008) = Universal Pictures and Marvel Studios
I love the movie 2003 and Sequel Video game 2003.
6:49 Watching Hulk slowly turn back into Bruce is so satisfying.
This CGI looked great for 2003. I know people complained that the Hulk looked like Shrek but It overall the CGI looks great for it's it time. In fact it looks ten times better than 2022 She Hulk.
The CGI almost looks photo real in a lot of shots. ILM were real masters in the early 2000’s
Shehulk is garbage
💎
Still to this day I would love to see Ang Lee make a sequel to this film. Definitely my Favourite Hulk.
My favorite movie Hulk
Hope one day we finally get the Hulk movie that we all deserve
Unfortunately not until we renovate the freaks in boo hoo Hollywood.
2008 wasn’t bad at all
@@thecookj454 I agree, but it's not what I wish for a Hulk movie.
To be honest both H03 and TIH are great Hulk movies.
@@shocktun3s729 Facts 💯
Watching this scene as a kid was legit
Instead of trying to kill him, convince the hulk to join powerlifting!
19 yrs ago and still looks good...
But that green colour is little bit too green 😁😁
That green is perfect
I like the geeen
Hulk’s trousers have infinite Young’s modulus. Stretchy enough for the Hulk but strong enough to keep his dignity intact.
Tobey Maguire and Eric Bana would've made a great team.
We need theme be in secret wars
I'm so glad I have this movie the hulk is one of my favorite superhero ❤ really miss and enjoy this character!
@Keyy^8💫 STOP POSTING THIS GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!
The CGI was way better than what was used in other movies of the time, and even it has a better love story than the Twilight movies.
Best hulk movie ever
It's amazing 😍✌️
@Keyy^8💫 STOP POSTING THIS GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn you all to hell!
Then it's so strange that he shacks up with Black Widow of all people. Like, did Betty Ross not exist in 2015 when "Age of Ultron" started happening?
Hulks Weakness is for Betty😊😊😊😊💚💚💚💚
I would kill for marvel and universal to partner up again and make a sequel to this masterpiece
marvel had the rights now bud 🤞
Jennifer Connelly in this movie surpasses the entire MCU all phases all time. What an incredible performance.
Fs in the chat for that one pilot
It's alright, by the time he enters the exosphere he won't be able to get any thrust as the air-fuel mixture just stops running due to lack of air and he'll gently fall back to earth due to gravity.
@@battlefennec wouldn’t he crash then and die?
@@lul_alex7075 no. They have ejection seats. Plus they have plenty of time to reignite their engines, the aircraft hasn't made it out of the atmosphere far enough where it would burn up on re entry. Look up the F-22 max ceiling altitude and you'll see why.
@@battlefennec do you think he’d wake up in time and be able to steer correctly though? I mean what about the bridge he almost crashed into that because he lost control
Bro I LOVE this hulk. Eric Bana is best hulk
Bana is sooooooo much better than Ruffalo!
@2:04 ... Is the most perfect depiction of Hulk and Banner's beginning thoughts about eachother ... Watching that scene as an adult really gets the brain going
The Hulk/Banner's psyche is nightmare fuel
A masterpiece.
Hulk is my second movie and Hulk is my second Marvel Superhero
The Awesome Incredible Hulk Ever ✅✅✅✅💚💚💚💚
Yo maybe Puny God is a reference to Puny Human.
Despite the amount of hate this movie gets, for some reason I just love it. It’s the most comic accurate adaption of hulk.
I love this movie to death
The comic style transition just hits me hard
Just when I thought I couldn't love the Hulk any more than I did as a child, HE SAVES THE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE.
I like that they gave Hulk a creepy sinister voice rather than a typical dumb brute voice.
I know right? He's not just some monster, he's the dark part of Bruces psyche. He constantly mocks Bruce, calling him puny which is why he feels he has to save him
Ang Lee killed it as Hulk.
@@janethmuganyizi3155 Still like Lou Ferrigno and Fred Tatasciore's voices as Hulk.
Loved thistle movie as a kid and dont know why it recieved lots of hate it truly deserved a sequel with Eric Bana he was fantastic as Hulk
The Hulk we now have is a literal joke. Disney ruined him
Because they don't know how to write that character, it's what they do when they have nothing else, make a joke.
@@ubercoo i really like thor ragnarock, and i hated thor 1 and 2.
@@NuggetGX It's okay, nobody's perfect.
@@ubercoo wdym? 🤣 thor ragnarock was just the better movie. Thor 1 and 2 were complete snooze fests. 😴😴😴
@@NuggetGX and Taika is the greatest thing since slice bread, we know. It's marketing. Thor 3 was funny I'll give it that and better than 2 but Thor 1 is a good movie commonly overlooked. The blu-ray is great with Mjölnir fling through space with the soundtrack you can fall asleep too. Coulson is still killing it, tieing the new audence to a relatable gov. agent and we have Hawkeye's intro. Stan Lee breaks his truck, ANOTHER! I'm done.
Best Hulk ever and Cgi is almost perfect
This excites for marvel fans that haven’t watched it yet, go watch it its so underrated
My childhood movie I was big hulk fan reading comics and this came nostalgia back when marvel was successful and the stories and movies were awesome
@Keyy^8💫 STOP POSTING THIS GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!
@elie 9 STOP POSTING THIS GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the best Hulk film to this day.
2:18
Hulk's only line (Puny Human...)
Puny God
😦
Take it all
That HUG, with the 33-year-old Jennifer Connelly.....😍😍😍😍
Nooooo Hulk! Don't smash San Francisco!!!!
Baner hulk não iria ouvir o thor do ucm
@elie 9 STOP POSTING THIS GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent film. Actually respected the character and didnt just resort to mindless action straight away.
“Puny human” gave me chills 💀
A true masterpiece. The soundtrack and acting faithfully cinematic.
I forgot he actually saved that fighter pilot
Underrated movie. That transition at 6:54 from CGI Hulk to Eric Bana was flawless. Great acting, too. "You found me." "You weren't so hard to find." "Yes I was," he says with a hint of mania.
