Most people don't buy into brands because of design, cut, material etc (It's a factor but not the principle reason). People buy into brands because they want to support the creatives behind the brand or buy into a certain lifestyle that the creative behind the brand has sold them. In other words you can't build a successful brand with product alone. There are a million brands with 'good' product. Of all the rising streetwear brands that are popular today, think about the creatives behind them and how many industry connections they had behind them when they first started the brand. If you want to start a brand, and you haven't formed those connections yet... Don't start with a tee, start by trying to form those connections.
Idk if this spoke to me, but with a clear understanding that this resonates then I should follow this advice. Lowkey. Lowkey. But going to take action to get those connections!
Jack Parker idk if your the creator or something but ... the image on the opening page is too gaudy(blue, navy, black) the T-shirt’s and hoodies are expensive, does the brand have good enough quality to be charging those prices? The T-shirt’s are a straight no, too expensive, and why would people buy a T-shirt with THAT specific logo? It didn’t have a reputation or anything. The hoodies also.. the logo means really nothing and is frankly kind of boring and bland, I’d prefer a plain H&M hoodie. Although I will say I love the long sleeve T-shirt design but why don’t you sell that in more Versatile colours like white or black? That’s al
If I'm going to be honest, I *LOVE* cars. I want to make my own sports-car manufacturing company one day. but it is indeed a LOT more expensive, and after doing a lot of research, the automotive industry is a LOT more brutal and unforgiving, *ESPECIALLY* with McLaren and Lamborghini running these streets. There is a reason Fisker went bankrupt. So i decided to build money through my clothing brand instead of taking a 10 billion dollar loan for JUST A FACTORY. I do love fashion, I've had a sense for it ever since i was little, so I decided to use it as a stepping stone to get to my MAIN goal. The Automotive Industry.
The timing for this is crazy. Literally spent so much time researching everything you mentioned in the video the past couple of years & finally worked up the courage to start my own label
I love love love these why your fashion brand suck vids. Basically everything what not do to be successful in this industry.some of it is common sense.that is if you studied from people like damond john,Karl kani ,Ralph etc etc....me I just pay attention to my environment and the society streetwear fashion. Thx a ton Reg
My brand is mostly based off Instagram, where I get a little of recognition. I've came across a few big brands that have copied stuff that I made in the past. It really doesn't affect me, because I know I'm being watched by those with more ties in the fashion world. It kinda gives me validation because it means that I'm in a good path.
@@jackparker2018 Hey Jack, what does your brand represent? Also a quick question, why do you write your name without capitals and do you know what "curated" means?
Off-White crowned as the most popular brand of 2019. The Italian streetwear brand is ranked number one for the second time in a row on the list Hottest Brands of Lyst. Off-White is the most popular
Building a brand, getting so far as ‘success’ takes time. A lot of time! Overnight viral success can help getting established, but for most of us, that’ll never happen. So if you’re stuck with that need to follow your passion, better plan on 5 years or so of patience and grit to reap any rewards. 😅
All of this is bullcrap. Guys, do you wanna know how to build a successful clothing brand? Network is the key to succes, you need to know the right people to make your brand hot, and by right I mean celebrities and influencers inside the fashion/streetwear industry; that's how Jerry did it, that's how Kanye did it, that's how Bape did it, that's how Supreme did it and that's how virtualy every succesful clothing brand has done it. If you are a nobody sorrounded by nobodies it doesn't matter how hot your clothing is, only your family and friends will be buying it.
This is such a good question , I believe their is a lot of clothing brands In the world but their are also problems with these clothing brands , where the new brands can fix these problems.
I said this once and I won’t stop saying it. Too many brands doesn’t fucking matter. I’ve seen a graphic artists grieve over an “over saturated” market. Tbh. If you know your vision. It’ll resonate with the people. And that’s facts. Of course it’ll take time but the right connections elevate a message. If you even think for one second about how many brands are out there, you might as well stay on the sidelines. If not. Get out there, learn the competition for a bit, learn, sweep and expose the fakes, then fight with the big dawgs and earn respect. It takes heart, determination and focus. And an understanding of your personal capabilities to THE MAX.
I’ve had 7-10 designs stolen by regular to big names like kith and pleasures shit sucks making a brand if u don’t have the backing / budget. Everyone wants a dollar or validation it’s a mess and headache industry to get in go for your dreams if you want but going for the dollar is gonna end up happening as much as u dont want it to

I would argue that putting out stuff and gauging a response is a form of research in of itself. Great video!
