I've got it and used it at a wedding on Saturday - absolutely loved it! This on one body (RV so can also use crop mode for some extra reach) and then a portrait/longer lens on my second body. I never felt the need/want to change lens. It also wasn't as heavy/girthy as I thought it might be - would certainly say it's closer in size/feel to a typical 24-70 than it is to the tamron 35-150 which I also have.

Hello. Just a few minutes ago I watched your video about the new Sigma 24 70 f2.8 DG DN. Somehow I like both lenses, and I don't know what to choose between 24 70 and 28 45 1.8. I know that they are different lenses and have things that differentiate them a lot,but.... Please tell me your opinion as if you were choosing for yourself. What would you choose between 24 70 and 28 45? Thank you very much

Yeah for me personally 28-45. That 1.8 is hard to beat.

28-45 for sure. If you are ok with 2.8 it is better choice with range but for me 80% of my photoshoots I need 1.4 or 1.8 aperture so 24-70 was left in bag alot and not used very much on wedding day.

i just shot a private wedding party of my aunt and if you have to be quick to catch the moment a zoom definitely is the better choice, i am currently in the market for a 24GM 1.4 and a 35GM 1.4, would you choose the 28-45 1.8 over those 2 lenses?? how big is the difference between 24 and 28? for my gimbal use this lens would also come in handy, great photos and stunning location btw

    I like the shot at 7:21 (28mm)
17:13 "weird problem ... that the subject at the edge was not tracked" => that's not "weird", the PDAF cover only 95% of the frame, so it's missing 2.5% on the left and 2.5% on the right.

I'd rather just have a 24 and a 35 on two high-rez bodies and use Crop Mode to get 52. For work like this, I'd have two bodies anyway. Do you have a clear process for choosing between this zoom, or, say, a bright 35-150 vs. two or three bodies with primes? I used to shoot events with all primes on three bodies, but I recently got a 35-150, which I like very much, and now I'm dithering. My primes are calling me again, and the convenience of the zoom sometimes leads me to use it in lower light than I should.

A great video. I have a question to ask you, I want to change my Sigma 24-70 2.8 Art for a Sony 35mm 1.8, I also have a Sony 85mm 1.8 in my second camera body. I am unsure whether to buy the 35 1.8 or buy the 28/48 1.8. Greetings and thanks.

Buy new Sigma 28-45 for sure and 85mm 1.8 on second body is top wedding combo for nice portraits and catching all moments and not missing any of them with 1.8 that is indoor must for me.

if i were you i will buy 28-45mm and keep the 85mm and tro be safe sometime u need a wide angle add a 16mm (i use viltrox f1.8) or 20mm lense

Just picked one up and love it although its quite a bit different than having a 50 in use. I think there is place for this and a 50 tbh
It will defo replace my 35mm GM and help me to shoot 1 body for large parts of a wedding day.

I think I saw your blog post with the photos - amazing work!! I’ll stick with 35Gm and 50Gm

Thanks dude. I’ve never been a fan of 35GM even though I’ve used for a while now. Don’t love the distortion when vertical compared to the zeiss 35.
I do like 35 50 combo but then no 28 which is such a great focal length.
Have you used this at a wedding? I think outdoor it’s a lens that doesn’t really come into its own as you feel the limited zoom range quite a lot. But inside and over course of a wedding I think it’s a different story. 😊

@@tobiahtayo5149I'm on the same boat with 35mm GM and I'm using always 24mm 1.4 and 50mm 1.4 combo with 85mm 1.4 on other body (now using new Sigmas DG DN and before GMs and 50mm 1.2). I'm always in situations when I need to shoot with wide 24mm and after few sec I would like to shoot on 50mm but there is sometimes really not time to change lens so I have to shoot on 24mm instead of 50mm and with this lense it is no longer problem. Paired with 85mm on second A7IV body it is superb combo for wedding day.

@@jbmedia8882for everyday zoom I think it’s too big. If you really need this 1.8 yes it’s nice but If you can live with 2.8 the 24-50 G lens is great, lightweight, sharp and starts from 50mm for me it’s a plus ;) most used focal length.
