Yes I've never seen any sort of 30 day transformation of any type that was really telling at all, besides maybe minor fat loss. 3 month or even 6 month transformations are where visible differences are able to be seen.
Yes. Lets see 6 month results; or is this a Beachbody channel? Edit: The proper way to use this bad boy is to attach a 40 lb. kegel weight and swing that bad boy around, alternating sets of more traditional kegel exercises in the gym.
Don't attach a door anchor on the same side the door opens into. The door could open due to the resistance band overpowering the door latch, and you get popped with the band.

I, myself purchased exactly the same model and started using it around 1 month ago. I feel that your review is extremely fair and I agree with everything that you have said. I felt the same way about the build quality… The rotating piece should be smoother and metallic on bearings for this price. One observation from my side; try using the door attachment through the hinge side of the door. That way if anyone comes in while you’re using it, it will never release. Thanks for the great video!
I’ve been using mine for over a year. I use it 3 days a week just to work my neck through the ROM. It feels great. I use their harness for a little heavier load for flexion and extension.
Another Iron Neck user- I loved it. For sure a pricey piece of equipment for what it is, but it's also the best way I've found to train your neck so for now it's just a price point we have to accept. It's funny I never was worried about the cable snapping (It never even occurred to me) but now I really want to try it attached to a stacked weight. Really good video!
Love the work! I always get excited when I see you drop a new video. As a fellow 'Iron Neck enthusiast,' I recommend placing the door anchor on the same side as the hinges to minimize the risk of injury. Also, if you haven't tried doing 'diagonals' with the Iron Neck, you definitely should. They're quite intense and might work well for you too.
The door latch strap will be reliable if placed on the opposite side where the hinge is..Place it just above the top hinge (so it won’t slide down) and close the door..It will not move..Also, (extra credit) if you place it lower just above the middle hinge, you might be able to do this exercise sitting in a chair if the legs have current injury and you are working out but avoiding the legs..
Mine just arrived! (Thnx for the discount code btw) It was 499 - 10% as of 02/09/24. It arrived with better quality resistance bands than the ones shown on your video. I don’t think I’ll get popped in the head by them breaking lol. Love the content btw!!!!
I didn't make sure the door was latched once and got hit right in the eye from eight feet. It was a bloody mess for a couple of weeks. No damage, but the ophthalmologist said it almost tore the eye open. Make sure the door is fully latched -- maybe walk away from it with your back to it at first. Or wear eye guards. For the senior citizen set, this device doesn't help with the appearance of the platysma muscles, those cords that become visible in you neck as you age. It may even make them worse because you're contracting the muscles. I believe the key there is to do considerable stretching of those muscles.
I’d be interested in seeing if working on range of motion and neck flexibility and if that improved any other aspects like sleep, reduced neck tension, etc.
An update video mid year, year end if you keep doing it would be great. Pricey, but if you use it and get results....no free lunch. Should last for a lifetime.
David Puddy works out! Actually, great progress. I never knew such a head halo existed. I've used neck harnesses in the past and hung fairly light weights from them, and they worked, but this device really works! Props!!
or.....you get a carabiner, set it up to a door mount, connect a small snatch block and run a tension band through it. Now you got a system that rotates at the pulley on the door instead of on your head and you can just rotate the band around your head. You can get some pretty crazy well made climbing gear anchors and pulleys for way way less than 600 $
P I would highly recommend attaching the door attachment by the hinges and get a much tighter safer fridge. This way the door can't fly open. Attach it to the other side if they told you to attached to that side that's bad instructions because I owned plenty of not yet including this one and you can easily attach it to where the hinges are and it's great
Subbed. Great channel. Been doing neck for long time with head harness. Just bought their harness (went cheap) and using their band with carabiner scares the shit out of me. It can take your eye out if it goes. Wonder if there are any reports of that happening. Great review.
ive seen so many of your reviews and realized I wasnt subbed. Just subbed, you do such good realistic reviews. keep up the good work. we thank you. As far as the iron neck , that price is Freakin INSANE. I bought an entire $2,000 home gym, used on marketplace for 500 bucks. to compare an entire commercial grade multi gym to a plastic disc is so crazy. For my neck I use the Neck flex, a quarter of the price for their most expensive version and gives you more exercise options.
14:08 looks like the before pic might be lower on the neck and the tape is useful. The tape is resting on the trap and the other one is above. Could be a bit larger difference than perceived
Back when I was 7, I got a nitento 64 and iron neck for christ mas. The nintendo ended up on craigs list. The IN I've still got and use 1-2 times a week. People that doesn't have comically long legs really struggle to get a triangle choke on me during BJJ rolls
Honestly, I do believe your results are skewed somewhat, but also this undeniably works, just some logistical and consistency issues with this experiment- First I think your neck likely looks a fair bit larger than it actually is simply due to the fact that in your before pictures, you got some decent coverage with your facial hair which is a naturally darker color than your skin, the darker appearance of your face around your jaw and neck may lend itself to a sort of optical illusion slimming effect, I think it'd probably have been a good idea to keep your look more consistent between pics so your perception isn't potentially skewed or exacerbated due to other outside factors, it could be a case of your jaw looking less defined with no beard which then makes your neck look bigger by comparison, but I do believe the measurements are accurate and is a healthy level of growth for a set of muscles that are very testy to try and train. Second, while I do believe the build of the headset allows for more consistent resistance, I feel there is something to be said about there potentially being an issue of bloodflow and circulation, since essentially any form of resistance comes from pressure applied to the front, back, and sides of the head, and given that your forehead was often red after a workout, I would be worried about potentially cutting off circulation during prolonged usage, or potentially damaging or bursting arteries and blood vessels in the forehead due to pressure and an attempt at even mild progressive overload. I think it's an issue that MAY be able to be resolved with additional padding, but I do think there's gonna be an upper limit to it at some point, you can train the muscles, but you can't train blood vessels to be resistant against pinching, pressure and constricting, you just can't make soft tissue harder, and even if you could, you wouldn't want to. Third is the same issue mentioned about the plastic at the end, even if equipment failure is unlikely, the last thing anyone wants is for equipment to fail...when it's strapped to your head and pulling on your neck with a tension band, I honestly think they may be sacrificing too much practicality for comfort in this area or to cut costs, because ideally you'd want a lightweight but sturdy metal for the framing/ring for this, as more than likely, the extra weight of the metal may have some benefits to strength on it's own, but would also likely be a better product overall in terms of durability. Even if YOU'RE not snapping, the next worst thing would be your EQUIPMENT snapping, especially when you're dropping 500-600 dollars on this. Lastly I just wanna say, despite my criticisms and concerns, this is a great video, and the product seems to work exactly as intended, I'm just laying out an uncontrolled variable in the experiment, and voicing some potential design flaws and issues with this specific way of training. Obviously the first thing people think of here is not wanting to injure the muscles in the neck or spine and potentially cause harm to the spinal column, but if I were to guess a potential flaw of this that could cause damage, it would be the constriction of soft tissue around the head and face, as well as putting prolonged pressure on small, weaker bones of the skull like around the temple, the human head and neck isn't optimized to adapt as well the rest of the body in my opinion. But yeah, those are my thoughts.
@@abdulcole1100 I mean if you want to, you do you- But just exercise caution (pun not intended) with how much you try to progress with this kind of training, I know some people with severe neck/spine issues swear by it for strengthening those muscles they suffer with- But just be careful about either adding too much weight/resistance, or trying to do too long of sessions starting out- And maybe be willing to sacrifice some of the traditional ways you'd progress with most exercises, again, if the plastic is a concern or the structural integrity, DON'T add more weight/tension. Same for if you start experiencing too much redness or possibly bruising from too much pressure on/around the face. Most weight/resistance training places the weight of a load on padded parts of the body with muscle and fat, like the palms of the hands or feet, not on places that are close to the bone, like the head and forehead. Pretty much if you start experiencing too many uncomfortable side effects to the pressure, then maybe focus on shorter/less intense sessions. It DOES seem like the sort of tool that'd be useful for physical therapy, but for "building" muscle in healthy people? I don't know. I think if neck training were a priority, it'd probably be best to check out the techniques used by amateur and competitive wrestlers to strengthen their necks, as wrestlers are known for having some of the strongest and largest neck muscles around. There's also a chance I could be ENTIRELY wrong, most of my concerns were just based on speculation.
was looking for reviews that specifically talked about the resistance dial on the pro. My hunch was that it was a gimmick/unneeded. Nice to see an honest review. I'll get the one without, thanks!
Word of advice: you should use the door anchor so that you are pulling on the door in the direction that it CLOSES, not in the direction that the door opens. This is a very important principle for any door anchor system. In the video, you were anchoring on the wrong side (very dangerous, as the door can open and the attachment will fly out towards you).
I feel like the measuring point is lower on your neck in the before pic, hitting a little trap (I see a little gap between the tape and your neck at 14:06 on the before) and the after is tighter and at a slimmer point of your neck. Your neck definitely got bigger
That's an interesting piece of equipment. Ofc you can get great results with just using plates though. I started out last year with a neck circumference of 40 cm. Started doing neck training 2-3 times a week using plates ( 3-4 sets each direction of the neck, so 12-16 sets in total, 30+ reps per set). Neck is now a bit over 43.5 cm in circumference. I just started training my neck as a fun experiment. I like the look of a bigger neck though so stuck with it. After a neck workout with the pump my neck is like 46 cm. Would love to have that big of a neck without the pump. If you are muscular a big strong neck complements your body very well. Makes you look a lot bigger.
The door jam thing should probably be used the other way for the door so that you pull in the same direction that the door closes. That way it will only fly off if it breaks the door or itself snaps.
You shouldn't expect 30 says to change much. Do this for at least a year. And then check the results. Also hooking it up to the cable machine is a really good idea, as you can progressively overload to like 100kg
I guess aluminums wheels for the cable machine will be alot better feeling, because of how much smoother and especially on the pull back ( witch is what the iron neck is using) thanks for review✌️✌️✌️
As a rule I *never* have metal hardware on the far end of a band that's going to my face/head, if something happens to the attachment it becomes a serious projectile. I have a friend who got hit by a stretched band in the eyes (no hardware, just the rubber) and that temporarily damaged his eyesight, scary stuff. I have a homemade contraption, made from martial arts belt with two loops on each end with carabiners, attached to a loop band which is attached to whatever anchor by looping through it. I only train my neck in static positions under resistance (keeping an upright posture, chin tucked in, neck in alignment) not with movement, as I think it's healthier in the long run, but that's just me.
Thicker. And its going to take a while. I am 64 and I just started training for pistol squats and have been weeks just working on getting all the way down, these things take much time; that is muscle maturity.
I'd for sure wanna see a month to month progress on this one. My buddy talks about getting this thing every dang day so I'm interested in maybe one day getting one for myself
He almost looks like Will Ferrell when he was making those faces.. I almost thought he is the actor from the movie in some frames.. When that attachment was on his head... Great review.. 😊😊

You should try to do 100 dips for 90 days
Dude! I found myself laughing a lot at this but I do find you pretty damn funny! Great video though I do like your video’s
I feel like the measuring point is lower on your neck in the before pic, hitting a little trap (I see a little gap between the tape and your neck at 14:06 on the before) and the after is tighter and at a slimmer point of your neck. Your neck definitely got bigger
I like the look of that around-the-door door anchor. I think I'd use some other stuff I have more than I do with one of those.
I didn’t know about this, thanks for letting me know (: I might try it.
The thumbnail is on another level, love it. 😂
gotta love those skits with Kevin
Yessss a mini skit!!
The door jam thing should probably be used the other way for the door so that you pull in the same direction that the door closes. That way it will only fly off if it breaks the door or itself snaps.
There's iron neck now 😂 iron fist, iron leg, iron arm, iron head... Pigmie such a good watch. I wanna try it as well
Great review, thanks! Do you notice any effects on better performance in activities, sports etc?
Super job, entertaining video.
You shouldn't expect 30 says to change much. Do this for at least a year. And then check the results. Also hooking it up to the cable machine is a really good idea, as you can progressively overload to like 100kg
Its at least better than the 1 week experiments he does
@@captchagod64 ye
looking big man!
I have done neck exercises a lot in my 20’s. It helps you look like a superhero, basically.
Door anchors should always be placed on the side of the door that doesn't swing open.
Thicker. And its going to take a while. I am 64 and I just started training for pistol squats and have been weeks just working on getting all the way down, these things take much time; that is muscle maturity.
Try to do the 75 hard!
The door jamb piece needs to go where the hinge is located.
The 360s at 8:08 look illegally funny
Put the door jamb attachment thru the hinge side of the door. Unless you wanna lose an eye or a tooth.
If you continue to use it can you then show us what your progress is after idk 4 months or smth
When will we be getting more skits ?
Nice gains🎉
I'd for sure wanna see a month to month progress on this one. My buddy talks about getting this thing every dang day so I'm interested in maybe one day getting one for myself
Great video review, but 350 bucks is still way to expensive for a device that only trains your neck imo
This has to be a comedy channel. I do more laughing than learning 😂.
Edge from WWE used this for his comeback to protect his neck from c-spine fusion surgery.
It didn't add much if any size, but as long as you got stronger, it was worth it. A stronger neck can do a lot for reducing injuries.
Wtf is that price xD even at $100 it would be ridiculous, but 600? Joke
Wonder how much they were before the Joe Rogan effect. That dumbass ruins a lot of shit .
Looks so goofy when using it especially the facial expressions but how are you supposed to look cool using this haha, definitely want one
You'd be a great Kung Lao in the next MK movie.
You should do a video training martial arts for a month
He almost looks like Will Ferrell when he was making those faces.. I almost thought he is the actor from the movie in some frames.. When that attachment was on his head... Great review.. 😊😊
I don't know if you were trying to be funny but your face was hilarious whilst doing this.
Neck Flex with the rotation attachment all the way. Far less money, far more durability and versatility.
The cost is insane for the build quality.
Bro your neck is noticeably thicker from all angles but from the side it is much more toned looking.
You're the first youtuber to use this thing correctly.
do you think if you used this while standing on a whirlyboard or similar balance board would be good?
Oh god. I found myself today motivating myself by saying automatically "But you gotta focus!" Lol
🙏 Mortal Kombat !!!!!!
Radian hat 😂
Your headspins will get better... Probably be able to halo now
try improving jump height and go for that ninja agility
could neck hypertrophy training cause a pump so good, so succulent, that it would stop your airway?
Good accessory to attend fashion week in paris
Great review. I just bought the same one. Thank you.
