Great video, really useful for a level biology! One thing, on the last slide, should it say that hydrolysis breaks apart disaccharides and not monosaccharides?
He meant the same , monosaccharides are broken apart from their bond .... The bond they were having in a disaccharide or a polysaccharide ... Urs and his , sentences differ , however meaning the samee
around 60ish videos in, its not the clearest transition but i reckon about the 64th video of the playlist he made with 118 videos being the jump to A2. There are a couple of other bits where he goes a little more indepth or whatever as well before then. I made my own playlist of his vids for just AS i think you can look at my account to find it if you want.
Our playlist on RUclips only covers a portion of the course, we cover the full course in over 300+ videos on our website snaprevise.co.uk as well as many other features like revision guides, quizzes and a lot more to help you nail A-level Biology!

Great video, really useful for a level biology! One thing, on the last slide, should it say that hydrolysis breaks apart disaccharides and not monosaccharides?
It's kind of like when it's hydrolyzed polysaccharides they break down into monosaccharides or disacchrides i think 🤷♀️
ive fucking procrastinated so much thanks for the great videos to help me get back on track
What a great video that deepened my understanding of this topic! Thanks very much
Is lactose formed from alpha glucose or beta glucose along with galactose?

at 10:45 should it not be disaccharides are broken down to monosaccharides in hydrolysis
He meant the same , monosaccharides are broken apart from their bond .... The bond they were having in a disaccharide or a polysaccharide ... Urs and his , sentences differ , however meaning the samee

Really amazing video 👏
but in my level biology lactose is formed from beta glucose & galactose not alpha glucose.
Straight facts
there can be beta lactose too
if the constituents are beta glucose and beta galactose
It's an alpha glucose and a beta galactose which forms lactose ..
more useful than my revision guidebook and textbook
really good video thanks mate
You're welcome! 👍
can someone tell me when first year (AS-Level) stops and second year begins throughout all the biology videos?

Yes, same meaning Aline. Just two different words :)

Fructose is a 5 membered ring...
In this video, in sucrose molecule, the fructose has been wrongly shown as a six membered ring...
Lactose is made of Beta glucose and galactose i think it is typo at 4.11
