Watch my other videos where we get it dialed in but 1 the center diff was dry, 2 the servo saver was NOT holding the wheels straight causing it to flip 3 when I bound my remote to the car tqi was disabled all that made for a bad driving rc.
My biggest complaint with this truck has been how much dirt it collects in the chassis. I also agree, it should have came with the sway bars from the factory. That being said, I have really enjoyed driving mine and despite hitting 60MPH I have yet to roll it on the street. Its not a perfect rig but I thought it was a lot of fun!
The street is not bad it tends to slide or loose dirt in the grass its horrible and yes it does collect a lot of dirt And should have had the sway bars if done correctly it shouldn't have needed them I hope they make them available soon so we can try
Hey man.. love your vids.. found em when i was looking at the arrma groms and going brushless.. started my youtube a couple months ago.. been lots of fun.. thanks for the great content
You are more than welcome brother… who else can I talk to at 2-3 in the morning 😳… glad you are reviewing this truck… so far I’ve seen nothing but fan boys reviewing this truck soooo.
Yeah I watched a few one guy said it goes up on 2 wheels a lot but its controllable? What?? Most are running on a rc track no where near full speed guess I lucked out that the track was busy and I really got to run it because on a slick track it slides around great but how many people do that?
I think Traxxas messed up thats why they ship it with the front end bottomed out hoping people would leave it be and it might be stable then I dont know what the fix is I hope sway bars will help but Traxxas should send them for free this can jump i cant turn it runs fast straight thats about it lol
Got mine yesterday , I'll finish what Traxxas started , and turn this thing into a really cool car , wide kit , max tires , switch out the servo , I'll get it where I want it , cool platform and oh ya !! Some body trimming I'm sure , cool video !
I moved the rear shocks to the front and the front shocks to the back with stock Maxx rear springs and what a difference it is a Willie machine now Handel's so much better. It lands jumps better. I have a vid up.
picked up a arma mojave 4s today... been watching videos n comparing the maxx slash to the mojave's ... Only advantage i se with the maxx slash is the body and body mounting system. Price is pretty steep for what you get. shoulda been priced between $600-650
Honesty is the best. I enjoyed the truth about this Traxxas Slash. It seems like it could be a great car if it had sway control. As is however my thought is no. Thanks for the great review.
Thank you even if I never get something to review for free I cant make stuff up the sad thing is this shouldn't need sway bars to begin with and the fact they offer them afterwards says a lot.
@@L2theWcarscoffeelife for the price it doesn’t seem as fun as a Losi lmt or Big Rock 6s. A XMAXX or Kraton 8s is only $300 more? That’s crazy. I would be disappointed also, compared to what I already have. IMHO price should be $499. I have 5 Traxxas, seems this one misses the mark for me also. It’s hard to find honest reviews, we need more of that!!
@jimpalazzolo6013 thank you very much for the support. Wait until you see the video I will have up when I contacted Traxxas! At this price point it's pathetic to expect people to pay for a piece of wire. Rlarrlo has the Omni Terminatior at 200 bucks brushless, center diff, fans on the esc and motor and anti sway bars! Honestly most of thier stuff doesn't have them but they dont fall over and the fact they sell them after the fact unlike other cars shows they know there is a problem
When I seen Santa Maria run his the first day I said I'm Not a fan - Thing ain't that great at all. You confirmed it as well. Its Not a basher anyway. If anyone would rather drive this than a Maxx or Hoss or Sledge then good for you. Ill stick to my 3S Senton and 6S Mojave that already suck at bashing too. LOL
@surfside75 definitely the 4s Kraton is a tough rc I have a video I just recently did where its the only 4s to make this huge concrete drainage ditch its tough thats for sure only problem is the one I have with the slipper clutch gets too much dirt inside and keeps eating bearings. At a lower price point the Team Corally Syncro4 is tough, the 6s Kraton is amazing too anything udr or short course is better as a ground runner with small jumps granted the 6s Mojave can handle jumps better than this
@@surfside75 What I like to bash with MT8 MT10 Maxx Hoss Kraton for sure Kaiju - Just to name a few - there are so many - These Short courses fly on dirt tracks but for big bashing for decent jumps and stuff they are not my preferred truck - To me - If it can do a decent back flip that would be considered to me the bashing level I like . Not just racing around dirt because my Senton 3s with Sledge hammers on a dirt path is great but when you start trying to hit some decent bumps it just bottoms out and gets annoying to control. I cant stand that. Got a 6s Kraton never owned a 4s but I know Id rather use that than a short course to bash.
@L2theWcarscoffeelife thanks. Picked up the Kraton 4s in green with the new center diff. This truck certainly looks the part😎 just need skids and shock travel limit straps. I have a true basher now🤣 My other trucks are; Mojave 6s Baja rey 1/10 v2 Vorteks 3s Trx4/Trx6
It is based off a Maxx. The Maxx does not handle good either. You would think it would be better lower to the ground but it is not that much wider than the Maxx. Looks fost tho
Like I mentioned on the video I can run the X maxx faster and not have it fall over even my 6s Big Rock can run and slide around not fall over I really thought the lcg chassis would have done better too.
@@L2theWcarscoffeelifeit’s a proven fact the main reason they released this was they had a ton of V1 Maxx parts over stocked, it has most of the V1 Maxx parts, pls fact check me, i definitely probably will wait till there is a V2 , & then maybe i might pick one up, great video, glad your one of the real ones, honestly is where it’s at, don’t get me wrong i like most of traxxas products, just my 2cents😉👍🏽💯
I disagree - I consider my Maxx a dual contender - I had my Wide Maxx at 72 MPH for speed runs and now its back to basher mode. Its done super speed on runs and bashes like a beast. Although the turning radius is quite long and painful. With that being said. You Can probably nail 80MPH with this MSLASH on nothing but pinion and spur upgrading but it will never be a Maxx Style basher. Well not the way it is now. If they pull out some trickery and somehow release A lift kit for this MSlash then that would be a major game changer as far as dual contenders go. TRAXXAS CAN YOU HEAR ME ? MAXX SLASH LIFT KIT BABY !! LETS GOOO
PS… I promise this is the last comment… sometimes adding sway bars IS part of tuning suspension, which really sucks, but I believe you are totally correct on the sway bar deal… 100%
Before you said the front tires are hitting the body acting like brakes. Trim the body a little around the front tires and you should be fine. Jeff in LA USA
I would have to cut the whole fender out to the hood you can see rub marks way up top too its hitting all the way around they really should have fixed that is what it is I guess just shoe goo it hope it wont rub through.
@@L2theWcarscoffeelife Yes I saw that when you were closing out at the table after I put my comment. It would almost look like a modified if you made the cuts. Is there a way to use stiffer shocks or maybe a spacer on the body? Maybe a spacer on the shock to raise up the springs on the front.
@JeffinLowerAlabama you can always go stiffer on the springs or put a little fuel tube on the shaft to limit the travel. I wonder why the spings were falling off out of the box like what I saw in the hobby store did they take all the tension out to keep it from rolling so easy hoping nobody would notice or touch it I am going to try a few things
@@L2theWcarscoffeelife the fuel tube is what I was suggesting for spacers. Have used a spacer on the front gear of some planes. Sure you'll come up with a fix
I’d sure like to see a new body and a widemaxx kit on one of these. The car in its current configuration looks so frustrating. Thanks for reviewing. I’m gonna save $700
If this was a Truggy type car. I think we’d all appreciate it more. My maxx never could stay landed without donkey kicking off the ground. I feel your pain
I have the 8s Xmaxx and Outcast both have a ton of power and sit higher than this and dont flop over I really thought this would be more like the Sledge low to the ground and moves the control arms are stubby on this for a car they say can hit 70 with gearing and is off road its a bad combo they could have made it a solid rear axle at this point then I would have expected it to flip which is why I dont have and solid axle cars lol
@@L2theWcarscoffeelife yeah, for sure. This car I bet drops 100 buck by summer like the sledge did. For a couple hundred more I’d buy anything else. A few of us just watched the pain you had with this car. We are all out. Thank you for the review.
I appreciate the support I really want to like this rc but I have to be honest about it for some it might not be a problem for me its not a basher it should shine on the ground driving to me it just doesnt deliver.I contacted Traxxas wait for that video to come out @@Havingoneofthosedays-
I found out after the fact that when you bind a remote it disabes the tsi so I did not have it all so that was a problem. I have other videos I put the shock extenders on the front, new servo saver and servo and its actually fun to drive now it made a world of difference it doesnt roll over for no reason now thank you for watching and the comment
New Sub here!👍🏼 great review bud!! Totally thought this would be epic, sounds like it shouldn’t have the Slash name as they handle like a dream!!😁 more like Max Flip!!😜🤙🏼👊🏼
Thank you very much I had high hopes thats why I spent my money on it I keep it honest and always will just show what happens when I run it I hope the sway bars will fix it but it shouldn't need them
I’m trying to sell or trade mine after the second run. The tires rub, and the servo stopped working after second run, brand new. Luckily I had an extra servo from an XMaxx. But if you’re having a great time with it, good for you, just not my style I guess.. $750 after😂😢
Check out my video with the new servo saver totally different rc now. Sucks your servo went out and this is has problems out of the box like you I am a consumer I purchased this to have fun my 3 wheel do do trike thing for 20 bucks worked better lol. Hot racing servo saver makes a world of difference and tightning the front springs to keep the tires off the hood.
I appreciate the honest review. My first thought when I saw this was why would anyone get this instead of a UDR or Baja Rey. Making a monster truck chassis into a SC truck just seems like a bad idea from the start. It looks like the shocks are way over-dampened from the video. If that's the case some lighter oil might make a big difference in handling. Doies this have a center diff?
I have never been a fan of the solid rear axles that make the trucks handle poorly lol I thought this would be a lot better with the independent suspension and based on tested platforms obviously not something is wrong and yes it has a center diff
yea Justin I went to look at the Maxx Slash at my local hobby shop on Friday. I ended up getting the UDR instead. totally different trucks, but the quality and build difference of the two trucks is insane for the same price. i already have an Xmaxx and a maxx to bash though to be fair. so i didn't really need another basher.
Classic RC Company is where I buy all my Traxxas RCs, too. Kenneth is awesome! Traxxas really should’ve released this with Sway Bars. I want to put it against both my Mojave 4s and 6s but it looking like it won’t be able to compete in the handling class against either one.
I like to shop local when I can support the small shops they are nice people there. It should have the anti sway bars I can turn my Xmaxx faster than this
I keep watching the videos on these trying to like it but everyone I saw so far shows me that it would be a waste of money since I have a Mojave 4s with a 6s system in it. Now there's a champ in my book! Too many upgrades needed to make the Maxx Slash work like it should IMHO.
I love how they hid the remote control in the body. Lol. I mean it seems like a pretty cool car but I had the Mojave 6S when it first came out and I thought that was amazing. I wonder how you compare it to that? Sorry I haven’t been on the tube lately. Just a lot going on. I sent you an email. Hope all is well with you brother.
No worries I know you have a lot going on. I never had a Mojave so I cant compare. I can say the Big Rock 6s with the tires it has is very slick but fun! And it doesnt flip its very stable.
It’s a shame the handling isn’t good.. I think if you tried non belted tires it would make a huge difference, if you try it let me know … and I agree at 700 anti-sway bars should be standard!! Thanks as always for your honest opinion.
@Adubbs87 belted should be better with out ballooning they stay flat and should have better contact and the side walls dont flex yeah at this price point they are nickel and dimeing us the Rlarrlo Terminator at 200 dollars has anti sway bars and a fan on the motor!
@@L2theWcarscoffeelifeI know the terminator looks awesome and from what I saw it performs awesome!! More companies need to think like that instead of trying to take every dime they can from their customers.
I tried it off midway and full it helps in a straight line the body roll takes over in a turn I think one problem too is the belted tires are so hard there is no flex to them this rc has stupid little nuts holding them I dont have anything else to even try on it
Turning down the steering will not help a crap design neither will duct tape that would just shred turn to a mess its not going to do anything to keep a tire from hitting fuel tubing yes manufacturer the rc right is a better answer sticky messed up duct tape is a horrible idea seriously tire is going to eat right through it only change settings in a app if you have the Bluetooth module so your suggestion is flawed not everyone has the module I recommend watching my other videos where I fixed the actual problem not try to hide it
Why that sticker bother you so much that’s there slogan and has been. It’s just like Arrma putting don’t just bash blast on ever car. I was laughing when you was looking for the radio thinking they forgot to put one in your box. I would have thought the same thing.
Lol yeah I started thinking they had rollers and ready to run for a second. Arrma puts the logo on the bottom not the hood. Traxxas wouldn't be so bad but the whole fastest name in rc was too much especially when my Kagama on 6s will smoke this lol. I can not like it if I want why put all the pretty colors then hide it?
At least Arrma puts theirs discreetly under the chassis or the body. I agree that it looks tacky as hell plastered on the hood. In oversized font nonetheless.
To me it’s such a clumsy truck. I almost feel bad for it. It wants to go but just tips over so easily and so difficult to even stay straight at times. If you were racing on a course and everyone had one it would be fun. But there are so many better options for the price holy moly get a Sledge for crying out loud please lol.
@@L2theWcarscoffeelife i just picked up the UDR last night haven't had the chance to try it out yet. Thanks for the video. it's good to hear information from all sides.
Hmmm, I like the video, but we had totally opposite experiences with this RC. In my video I bashed mine as hard as I could, got it to 57 MPH, drag raced it, and got it ran over by a Mercedes and it kept driving like nothing happened. I didn't have much trouble with traction rolls either. Maybe terrain differences might be the difference.
it does way better in loose stuff or a smooth rc track in grass it will flip easy too easy unless from what I tested you keep the front end dragging the way they set it up with the tires hitting the hood
@316RC no need to touch the dual rate I have a video out with all the fixes makes it run great and I have the part number of the springs too not just saying change springs just a suggestion if your going to say change something let us know to what change springs is too generic softer or harder what rate part number thanks for watching check out my recent video
Every video I've seen of this thing has been disappointing in my opinion, extremely so. Honestly, if a reviewer gives this a full pass without any criticism I just wouldn't trust them. Glad you tell it how it is, but also sorry you had to pay 700 for that vehicle. I'm thinking you would probably like the Mojave 4s based on what you like, I'd love to see you review that and compare it to this.
I have the Sledge and its a fantastic vehicle its very fast and handles great. I do have a 4s Kraton I have videos on and its a fun rc its great jumper and dang fast too not sure if I will do a Mojave the platform is real similar to the Kraton. You never know of a sale pops up. Yes no rc is perfect if its nothing but compliments I dont think they are being honest.
was gonna get one of these but once they discontinued the hoss and put the 120$ heavy duty extreme kit on the new stampede vxl with no price increase, I got a Team Corally Kagama instead. I dont agree with that kinda crap.
I see you unboxed it the parking lot probably because you didn’t want your wife to notice you bought another RC car I would just turn that bad boy around and sell it not worth getting in trouble for that just leave it in your trunk
Actually my workshop has a little renovation going on its been hard to unbox larger rc's working to fix that. I planned on the rc track but that was being worked on so no time to swing home unbox then head out to test it weather was coming. Besides it blends in with everything else I have 😆😆😆
@@L2theWcarscoffeelife Love your channel.Just teasing ya .My wife stopped asking me ,she just matches me with hand bags lol 😂 good luck with your new truck .Earl made his fast and strait !!! 👊
@GamedogRC I have vids on the Mojave as well its a blast and is ready out of the box. The Maxx Slash can be good it just takes some tuning and money but it should be better out of the box You should be happy with the Mojave it is wild
lol, thats 100% a basher, you dont need to jump an RC car 10 meters up in the air for it to be a basher, compared to a UDR which is a completely different barrel of fish along with the losi baja reys are braded as "scale trucks" the maxx slash on the other hand is made to take abuse and even has skid strips on the roof for when your driving like an idiot, plus this thing has that classic traxxas slash to short for how wide it is look going on, she aint scale at all
@@L2theWcarscoffeelife you know what, i take it back, you could jump this thing because its a basher, just look how its made, the Maxx from which it comes from is quite durable because it has been designed for bashing, you can also put thicker oil in the shocks for large jumps, my point is its not in the same group as a UDR because its a basher made for bashing
its a lcg chassis not made for bashing it has very little suspension travel thats why its supposed to be a udr might be based on a maxx but also the slash its dropped to the ground with no travel you can jump it all you want your just hitting the chassis I dont know why everyone thinks or wants every rc ot there to be a basher this is not for skate parks do what you want but good luck the dang tires hit the hood as it is on the ground did you not hear how hard it slammed on my little jump?? definetly not a basher see Earl Moorheads comment @@harlyquin
@@L2theWcarscoffeelife Cool, and thank you very much for your speedy reply, 1st off just to be clear im not a basher, i only own 1 car that is a basher and i dont even bash it, i have an Arrma Talion which i run on 4s cos thats fast enough for me, i own mainly scale trucks (baja reys, smt10, Trx4 and so on) you can see them on my channel if you like, 2nd - like i said before you can put thicker oil in the shocks for normal jumps but if you jump any RC car high its gonna bottom out on the chassis no matter what amount of suspension travel you have, cars are designed to do that and thats why alot of bashers have flat/LCG chassis, also i dont see Earl Moorheads comment, not that i need to i know im right little fella, but thank you very much for this back and forth, it has been most enjoyable 🦄
That suspension needs to be tuned to your driving style is all bro… plus, on dirt that thing will be awesome I’ll bet. That rolling crap would drive me nuts too🤨… my UDR use to drive me nuts until I learned how to tune suspension for my driving style… that and driving a bit more “scale” and my UDR is fun as heck to drive!
Usually the udr trucks have a solid rear axle so you expect the roll this is all independent based on the x maxx chasis I really thought it would turn better the xmaxx is way off the ground and doesn't flip like this I will see what I can do to dial it in makes me wonder if that's why the factory had no pressure in the front springs to make it not flip have it sit on the ground? Sure is wierd if you do that the tires will hit the hood makes me wonder.
It took a lot to get the car to go straight I set it with tsm off still was pulling bad I am going to have to pull the horn off the servo and center everything but once it was set the car went straight it just body rolls really bad and makes the back end want to swing around its not fighting the trim
Based off your review, not interested, thank you for your channel, having a cup of coffee,as you would,it's the good stuff,😊 hey I got truck you like I'm getting in April, it's beast and price is nice, you're a vet, definitely look good in your collection, cen reeper American force edition, amain hobby, let me know what you think?
I hope the sway bar kit will fix it I dont get why they didn't add it bit it shouldn't need it to be honest. I hope I didn't throw 700 in the trash. Gotta have the coffee!! The truck looks nice never heard of them but it looks like good stuff.
It’s Scott bro… closer (like closing the door) 1313yo is something that I just threw together and now I realize I should have used a name people could say and understand
All the videos I've saw the handling was suspect. The ones it handled good they were driving pretty slow. All i see is the bouncy rear suspension. I'm surprised every time it's not mentioned. Off bumps and jumps the rear bucks and swaps then flips.
Hey let's make the Maxx platform faster and heavier with 6s Revo electronics, but limit the width so that we can deplete our surplus of Maxx V1 suspension parts......😂
No it needs to stay on the ground so you can drive it having fun sliding it and driving around. The servo saver is too slack check out my latest video with a new parts see the difference.
Put the traxxas wide maxx kit 1.7 springs thicker shock oil k4s wheels steel driveshaft and it out performs any arrma 6s and 4s thunder rc bashed it stock and hit gnarly jumps it just depends on how picky your are abt things like this no rc is good out the box without some upgrades
Why would I do that? If I wanted a wide maxx I would buy that. Thunder rc seriously?? Where do you see me throwing cars 50 ft in the air to break stuff for views? I drive my cars. For 700 it shouldn't need parts to run. Next this will never out perform any 6s Arrma that's Ludacris! This thing cant jump to save its life it will never come close to a kraton and its not as good of a short course as the Mojave. Steel driveshafts for what? Your talking dumping money into stuff that doesn't need to be fixed. Why doesn't anyone ever search a channel to see if there are updates?? Thicker shock oil NO! I thinned it our put front springs on if you would have looked and please dont ever mention any channel that treats cars like crap! If I want to be high I have enough actual skill and will fly one of my planes not destroy my car for views idiotic to jump this rc just a fact its a short course NOT a basher everyone needs to stop with this dumb standard of a rc is good if you can launch it. Watch my other videos see how good it runs now without some goofy wide kit that destroys what the rc is seriously that makes zero sense just get a maxx then.
I can't imagine much south of a jelly filled balloon handling worse than a Xmaxx. Add in the bonus of the auto removing body every other crash and i get more exercise driving my Xmaxx than i do at the gym. I have both Mojaves and they jump pretty decent. They fly and land predictably if you hit it right. They will traction roll if you really go in hot but they do their part if you do yours. I'll drive one tomorrow to find out in person but in video form it's not impressive. The only thing it does as well seems to be collect dirt and grass under the body, lol. Finally if Traxxas released new rigs as often as competitors folks would be more honest and critical. It's just so rare to get more than new bodies on existing chassis and BOLD NEW COLORS that Traxxas fans go nuts over anything new simply because it's new. People were paying $1200 plus for that snap on toy and $1500 for ultimate shiny stuff ffs. I am neither a hater or fan. I buy what i want from whoever makes it. I have rigs from all the big names and several small ones but i own more Arrma and less Traxxas. Traxxas last 2 new rides have been versions of trucks Arrma already made pretty good. This and the Traxxas Kraton. If this would have been XRT based and 8s then I'd been first in line to get mine yesterday because nobody else has done that yet. I have a SBR 2.0 and it's a great scale sct but doesn't bash well. Instead i ordered a Super Rock Rey 2.0 today since it's on sale for $599 right now. I'm hoping it'll be a better basher than the SBR 2.0. Even if it's not i won't destroy a $300 body finding out. I'm hoping to run 8s Backflips on it since there's no body for them to scrub and that they'll give better air control. I don't want or expect backflips from a sct or rock racer but do wanna be able to point the bumper how i want while in the air. For $600 i can't think of a reason not to. Sorry for the novel, it's just refreshing to hear honest takes from folks who spent their money as opposed to those who got it early and or free. I appreciate the honesty. First time here but not the last.
I foolishly bought this and now am already angling to trade it for something else. Initially I liked it but as time has gone on I have been awoken to it's many flaws. The handling is terrible and the esc is hot garbage. Basically it drives like RC's drove 20 years ago with all of the surging in low speeds and just an esc that is light years behind competitors. 6s and the chosen stock pinion are too much for this truck. This is a 4s truck
The front shocks are useless. The trucks are shipped with springs that are too short. Even with full preload you get slap. The front dives so bad under braking that it will pitch left or right depending on what hits first. The rears are too short also. They just added shock extenders for the rear. Way too cheap out and reuse old shocks. The only new parts on this are the chassis and the tires. The rest is V1 max and sledge parts. I removed all the stupid stickers also. First thing I did. Looked dumb af. The tires aren’t really good for most surfaces and are too heavy. You need to spend 480$ to get the Maxx Slash to where the Mojave 6s is out the box. The aluminum parts and the upgraded parts. It’s insane the slash was shipped this way. It’s just a straight money grab. This thing could’ve been so much better out the box, but then Traxxas would lose money not selling you needed parts just to actually drive it. It doesn’t handle well, doesn’t jump well, tips super easy. They at least could’ve given us the UDR servo with metal gears. But instead a plastic box with plastic gears. I’ve already had the motor thermal on 2 4s packs and was 55 degrees out. This thing is going to cook when it’s warmer out. I cut the cables so I can run Ec5 connectors and the battery tray is tiny and only allows 48/50mm max height. It’s designed to run 2 5000mah Traxxas batteries. Who wants to run those overpriced turds. 140$ for two 3s batteries. I paid less for 2 quality 6s 6000mah 120c. I’m with you man. This thing is all hype right out the box. Your front tires will start to wear a hole in the body. Mines messed up a little after 4-5 hours. Wait until you run your a little more. The front skid between the arms gets wasted on everything. Even small transitions it bottoms out.
as you can see in the video the spring was just bouncing in there way to short I wonder if they did that knowing these were unstable hoping people would drive with the front end scraping then you have the tires eating the hood how the hell did they miss all of this I turned my springs up I only had a little scraping from them definitely shoe goo or duct tape it to protect it maybe even a little fuel tubing on the shocks makes me wonder if mine is worse because I tightened them so it wasnt scraping the ground although that shouldn't cause it I wonder, I am about to put out a video on what Traxxas told me when I messaged them all I will say is I am a bit offended and pissed at them. You can get Zee batteries at a very good price that fit so your not stuck with Traxxas batteries its what I use in my XRT and other cars they do good.
For 700 you shouldn't have to fix anything easy fix costs a lot of money for something that should have been right out of the box so no thats not acceptable
Throttle control is not the reason the body rolls it leans too much its too slow to respond and falls it has nothing to do with Throttle I have plenty of videos powering a rc in a turn they dont flip this has a defect I hope you understand and I appreciate you watching and the support
Not a basher you say? Poor driving but durable. That's the very definition of a basher! It sure a sh*t isn't a serious SCT either. What is it then? Mojave 6s DESTROYS this thing right out of the box. Merely proclaiming by decree that this $700 waste of time is 'not a basher' will certainly not prevent pretty much everybody who tragically buys it from bashing the hell out of it at their fave skate park. It's based off the maxx so not sure how it isn't a basher. If it's not a basher and not a serious racing rc then it's just an expensive toy that doesn't compete in the marketplace. I have the Slash Ultimate and love it. This rc is an underwhelming letdown.
yup thats what I say all I can do is put the info out youtubers who should know better what did they do jump the piss out of it and complain it cant jump so I reiterate its not a jumper even Traxxas did no favor with the dumb video of it skate park bashing. I figured out the biggest problem with it I am working on the video now you shouldnt have to invest in a new rc to make it work maybe up the performance but not make it work all I can do is share my experience I let people decide if its right if they buy it think its going to jump 10 20 feet and love it then they will be disappointed nothing I can do should I not say anything because someone wont listen? Is what it is Traxxas is a sinking ship the warranty sucks they think thier crap doesnt stink lots of competition now they arent the king of a little field of companies any more Kmart didnt think much of Sam Walton Sears didnt think much of the internet and where did get them
Watch my other videos where we get it dialed in but 1 the center diff was dry, 2 the servo saver was NOT holding the wheels straight causing it to flip 3 when I bound my remote to the car tqi was disabled all that made for a bad driving rc.
Traxxas looks like they’re releasing sway bars as an add on, but I agree with you.
Love the honest review bro. We have the luxury of being 100% honest without fluff in our reviews. Keep up the good work!
Thank you very much
Hey man.. love your vids.. found em when i was looking at the arrma groms and going brushless.. started my youtube a couple months ago.. been lots of fun.. thanks for the great content
@basherz_den thank you very much glad to hear your enjoying the content
You are more than welcome brother… who else can I talk to at 2-3 in the morning 😳… glad you are reviewing this truck… so far I’ve seen nothing but fan boys reviewing this truck soooo.
Yeah I watched a few one guy said it goes up on 2 wheels a lot but its controllable? What?? Most are running on a rc track no where near full speed guess I lucked out that the track was busy and I really got to run it because on a slick track it slides around great but how many people do that?
No one can get this thing running right. Guys have tuned the suspension and tires but still cant get it running right. Thanks for the honest review!
Do you got a video I'd love to see it it seems to be a cool truck
Thanks for the honest review! Those RUclipsrs that were given these for free don’t tell me truth because they’re scared of losing free trucks!
Thanks for the honest review, it is much appreciated!! 👍
That's whats I do I appreciate the support
LOL
What trucks are actually designed to be basher?
Do you think kraton 4s is one designed to bash?
I have a true basher now🤣
My other trucks are;
Mojave 6s
Baja rey 1/10 v2
Vorteks 3s
Trx4/Trx6
The body rubbing on the front outside tire could cause roll. 100k diff fluid in the front may create some push in the corners
LETS GOOO
My Maxx V2 is best truck I have. Handles awesome
PS… I promise this is the last comment… sometimes adding sway bars IS part of tuning suspension, which really sucks, but I believe you are totally correct on the sway bar deal… 100%
No worries more comments the better the algorithm loves it yeah its tuning it should help not be a necessity I hope they come out soon and fixes it.
Exactly the way the tires are tucked in looks like a real race truck tires sticking out just makes it a maxx at that point
I appreciate the support I really want to like this rc but I have to be honest about it for some it might not be a problem for me its not a basher it should shine on the ground driving to me it just doesnt deliver.I contacted Traxxas wait for that video to come out @@Havingoneofthosedays-
I haven’t had that problem except when I raised the suspension. I also have the nanny stuff turned up to 50%. Appreciate the honest review.
Crazy. This is a badass truck. Guess everything isn't for everyone.
Change your name to honestRC!!!!
Just curious did you crank up the TSM at all to help with the control? or no
I tried it off midway and full it helps in a straight line the body roll takes over in a turn I think one problem too is the belted tires are so hard there is no flex to them this rc has stupid little nuts holding them I dont have anything else to even try on it
glad I found your channel
You can turn down the steering in the app... Also I recommend putting gorrila tape in the wheel arch so the tyres don't wear off the paint
Turning down the steering will not help a crap design neither will duct tape that would just shred turn to a mess its not going to do anything to keep a tire from hitting fuel tubing yes manufacturer the rc right is a better answer sticky messed up duct tape is a horrible idea seriously tire is going to eat right through it only change settings in a app if you have the Bluetooth module so your suggestion is flawed not everyone has the module I recommend watching my other videos where I fixed the actual problem not try to hide it
Had such high hopes for this truck, but it sure looks nice so a 700 bucks shelf Queen?
I hope the anti sway bar kit will work but it shouldn't need one but they should install it definitely wont be a shelf queen I would sell it first lol
Why that sticker bother you so much that’s there slogan and has been. It’s just like Arrma putting don’t just bash blast on ever car. I was laughing when you was looking for the radio thinking they forgot to put one in your box. I would have thought the same thing.
It's a dumb slogan when it's not even true.
The price is ridiculous.. for that money could you buy so much more fun trucks
List of trucks off the top?
I am thinking;
Kraton 4/6
Mojave 4/6
UDR
LMT
Baja Rey 1/10
Vorteks 3s
Big Rock 3s
Just watching it run in other videos I could see. It handles like crap. Same reason I would never get a Maxx.
I have a Sledge its definitely a way better rc
@@L2theWcarscoffeelife yessir me too its a beast
I thought that the "UDR" version is an UDR.. isn't the suspension on this different than the "UDR"?
@gewglesux yes udr is sold axle this is independent we dont have teleprompters so sometimes words get mixed up lol
@@L2theWcarscoffeelife I agree it is much better in a low traction environment.
Easy fixes. Upgrade those front shock springs and adjust down those steering dual rates from 100%
@316RC no need to touch the dual rate I have a video out with all the fixes makes it run great and I have the part number of the springs too not just saying change springs just a suggestion if your going to say change something let us know to what change springs is too generic softer or harder what rate part number thanks for watching check out my recent video
Is the body the same size as the Slayer?
nope this is a totally new chassis design
was gonna get one of these but once they discontinued the hoss and put the 120$ heavy duty extreme kit on the new stampede vxl with no price increase, I got a Team Corally Kagama instead. I dont agree with that kinda crap.
Sorry for all the comments… but I comment during the video😳. Anyway, that thing will wheelie like crazy once them tires get worn in a bit…
Driver error. Let off the gas when you turn. Wonderful vehicle.
fan boy 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love the honesty❤
Thank you.
Agreed 😉👍🏽💯
This vid just solidified my decision. thanks. my still get a arrma mojave 6s
@GamedogRC I have vids on the Mojave as well its a blast and is ready out of the box. The Maxx Slash can be good it just takes some tuning and money but it should be better out of the box You should be happy with the Mojave it is wild
@@L2theWcarscoffeelife yea my buddy has one he drove it on one one my vids. Ima go look at those vids.
lol, thats 100% a basher, you dont need to jump an RC car 10 meters up in the air for it to be a basher, compared to a UDR which is a completely different barrel of fish along with the losi baja reys are braded as "scale trucks" the maxx slash on the other hand is made to take abuse and even has skid strips on the roof for when your driving like an idiot, plus this thing has that classic traxxas slash to short for how wide it is look going on, she aint scale at all
No its not a basher lol what ever your definition is small jumps is not bashing thats just something any rc can do
@@L2theWcarscoffeelife you know what, i take it back, you could jump this thing because its a basher, just look how its made, the Maxx from which it comes from is quite durable because it has been designed for bashing, you can also put thicker oil in the shocks for large jumps, my point is its not in the same group as a UDR because its a basher made for bashing
its a lcg chassis not made for bashing it has very little suspension travel thats why its supposed to be a udr might be based on a maxx but also the slash its dropped to the ground with no travel you can jump it all you want your just hitting the chassis I dont know why everyone thinks or wants every rc ot there to be a basher this is not for skate parks do what you want but good luck the dang tires hit the hood as it is on the ground did you not hear how hard it slammed on my little jump?? definetly not a basher see Earl Moorheads comment
@@harlyquin
Looks like the steering trim is off. tsm and you are fighting it.
It took a lot to get the car to go straight I set it with tsm off still was pulling bad I am going to have to pull the horn off the servo and center everything but once it was set the car went straight it just body rolls really bad and makes the back end want to swing around its not fighting the trim
I got mine yesterday n I also am disappointed
Hate to hear that but it is nice to have that confirmation as all the paid reviewers never said anything
@L2theWcarscoffeelife yeah it doesn't hand well at all ! Just not happy with the truck! All the hype n that's the best Traxxas can do !
@scottblake6850 I contacted Traxxas wow I am working on a video reply from that
@L2theWcarscoffeelife hopefully you get a good reply from Traxxas! I'm thinking about getting rid of the truck that's how disappointing iam
Lol no problem I hate getting a name wrong now I know good deal
Put 50 weight shock oil in the front and turn down the front shock knobs ALOT fixed
If you do that the tires bounce off the hood not and option fact is out of the box it should be right
All the videos I've saw the handling was suspect.
You know what? It rolled alot, but it did have a tendency to land tire down when it did, though. Thats worth something, no?
No it needs to stay on the ground so you can drive it having fun sliding it and driving around. The servo saver is too slack check out my latest video with a new parts see the difference.
@L2theWcarscoffeelife I know. Just looking for silver lining, man 😀
This thing is bad ass just change the tires you wont be disappointed
Ditch the servo saver so the tires actually stay straight then its ok lol Tires wont help if the rc cant hold them straight.
Traxxas is also not going to be making a fan for the motor
I foolishly bought this and now am already angling to trade it for something else. Initially I liked it but as time has gone on I have been awoken to it's many flaws. The handling is terrible and the esc is hot garbage. Basically it drives like RC's drove 20 years ago with all of the surging in low speeds and just an esc that is light years behind competitors. 6s and the chosen stock pinion are too much for this truck. This is a 4s truck
Hate to hear that sucks spending this much money and it doesnt work
The front shocks are useless.
The rock n roll 😂😂😂 for 700 bucks 😮
Subbed for the honesty
Thank you very much
I got to have one
Best 👍💪
I've seen a few people at the park running these. Very unimpressed by this maxx slash. And at the price point they are chaging its not worth it imo
easyfix,,better tires n stiffer springs + thickershockoils
For 700 you shouldn't have to fix anything easy fix costs a lot of money for something that should have been right out of the box so no thats not acceptable
Continue to keep it real... Salute!
I agree not a basher
definitely not it lacks the suspension for it but its ok thats not what it was designed for
You got high and tight (almost)… that’s a haircut for you guys that don’t know…
Its getting a bit shaggy plus I have gopro hair from the strap lol
I don't know what you're talking about response
It's called thrallo control and watch again. I don't want your talking about but awesome video anyway and stay safe
Throttle control is not the reason the body rolls it leans too much its too slow to respond and falls it has nothing to do with Throttle I have plenty of videos powering a rc in a turn they dont flip this has a defect I hope you understand and I appreciate you watching and the support
Hello 👍
Hello my friend
