The people who were saying there’s nothing wrong with the Maxx Slash stock, were either getting their trucks from Traxxas, hoping to get trucks from Traxxas or just driving it straight back and forth without actually driving it like your average consumer would! That’s why I respect your reviews! You told it like it was! There’s a difference between being a brand hater and a true driver! Great video again! Thanks!

Oh ya I did drywall and shoe goo the body. Like you said the body will start to crack and brake. It is a dirt catcher for sure 😂 They have fenders for it. But I’d like to see what you use as a net.

This truck is awesome in many ways. Worth the upgrades for sure. I almost got wiped out my my buddies on a bash session. He came off a jump and went 50 feet in the air and I had to duck to avoid getting hit. My son would have loved this RC.
Before investing a servo saver and servo yes very much so this just works out of the box as it should now that I fixed the other it does drive good but its not anything you should have to do I am really liking the Mojave its a beast
I liked the Mojave so much I now have 4. Two highly modified, and two stock. More friends ask to drive my Mojave more than any of my other RC cars no matter the scale. Truly hope you get as much fun from yours as I do mine.
I really like the Mojave 4s and 6s. If not for the Fireteam the 6s Mojave would be my favorite of the Arrma 6s line. I've never put a bigger pinion on my Mojave 6s but I've ran the speed pinion on my Fireteam for nearly 2 years and it's never had a heat issue.
Pine needles and tiny cooling fans a match made in heaven. Mesh chassis covers bro. We don't have pine trees here I still like a mesh cover now on my off road bashers.
The mojave is one of those RC's that I will never part with. I got the exb roller and stuffed the hobbywing 1650kv max 6 combo in it with a 23t pinion. Its a rocket. And it just glides over bumpy terrain so well. This will become one of your favorites. A couple upgrades are all that is needed to make these perfect.
My fireteam came with the updated esc and servo (grey) but no paperwork on esc button configuration chart 🤯 that was like a year ago 😉 i updated to max6 combo. 😁 All good now. I have made mine very heavy with all the metal upgrades. Titanium chassis from scoarched and hinge pins, tool steel diff out drives from Ram Jam racing and titanium upper front hinge pins and rear outer hub pins. All metal diffs with steel gears. Stainless bottom plates to protect everything. Those are pretty much just extra weight to have on top of the titanium 😉 metal hub knuckels and proline wheels with 8x32 metal hubs hubs. Hot racing 15mm extensions. Integy metal a-arms. Perfect pass monster servo. I have upgraded everything to metal 🤯 radiomaster mt12 controller and ELRS receiver. Keeps me busy 😉 cool video man 😁
One thing to be aware of, if the esc on this is in anyway restricted, it is gonna cut out. The same with the Bigrock and Kraton. More than any other esc on the market, these require a substantial amount of airflow. I tried a chasis cover on both the Mojave and the Bigrock and both reacted the same. Once I started getting on the throttle they both started to cut out. And this was in colder weather. I'd imagine warm weather would be more problomatic. There is actually something in the Bigrock manual that talks about the esc needing a lot of air. It is extremely irratating because a major pet peeve of mine is cleaning shit out of the chasis but the damn system won't let you use the only thing that works. Both the Maxx/Slash and Maxx accept a chasis cover and dont miss a beat as but not this thing.
On fans I want to limit debris but need good airflow, I use tulle fabric. Lightweight, high burn point, and easy to install over Arrma’s fan grills; I just cut out a patch and screw down using the existing fan screws. It won’t limit sand or dust but it does stop pebbles, pine needles, and other fan killers.
Yep it’s a beast & the stock electronics do get hot I’ve managed to break 2 esc’s so far but the motor has had no issues at all also my servo was garbage but those are kinda minor grips I love the durability & how much power it has. They also tend to blow out wheel bearings.
Took me a while to get to this one. Love my Mojave, have had it for several years at this point. Cool to see the small updates that they have done over time 👍
Actually, I have to retract what I said about the Maxx Slash being much faster. 57 is the fastest I have seen one of these go. I only got 52. Maybe because the one I had was a mess out of the box. For some reason the Mojave runs hotter than the Kraton and Big Rock.
The sway bars on the Mojave 6s are useless but they do work on the Typhon. Hard running on the Mojave the motor does get very hot and that’s with the stock 16t gearing. All that being said I would still rather have it than the Maxx Slash and UDR. It has a more edgy handling which I prefer over other big trucks but it’s all in what you like.
Dang it man your right I had to go back and look so it appears these are tied for speed I really thought I hit over 60 with it. I will be redoing the speed when I compare I couldnt keep the dang thing straight to save my life lol. Gyro for sure would make a big difference.. then it's there when you want it and turn it off when you dont.. adding a gyro is why I went dumbo rc.. the receiver with gyro is like $10 way cheaper than spektrum or traxxas.. the dumbo rc transmitter and receiver with gyro is like $40 which is cheaper than just the receiver of the other brands.. no brainer to me.. great video man. Your review of the Mojave got me to go out and purchase one in fact! I did find that binding the Dx5c remote with a spektrum receiver greatly improves both the throttle control and the range of the Maxx/slash. I constantly have issues with the tqi in every traxxas that I have ever owned. The range is terrible despite it being the same 2.4 GHZ. They give you the cheapy remote for two reasons… most people buying these vehicles are going to have their own radio that they already have plans on using and it keeps costs down

I am huge fans of the Kraton exb and 6s Big Rock as well as the Talion exb. All 3 are my favorite rc's of all time. That said, was not a fan of the Mojave. Maybe because of the horrible workmanship right out of the box. Bolts loose, no fluid in the diffs and a faulty esc which the update did not fully fix. The one I had ran sluggish and overheated in 30 degree weather. Horizon was no help. It annoyed me so much that I traded it for the new Kraton exb which had none of those issues. I find the Maxx Slash to be much better. The Spektrum esc's do offer a smoother driving experience in terms of throttle control, but the Maxx Slash is faster and does offer better throttle control on 4s. To each their own though.
I watched that horrible video watch when he drives it how hard the front end bounces and look at how high it sits he modified it that is not stock!! Then he says you need to set end points and take out steering what a load of b.s. I changed out the servo saver kept full steering and it works fine once I added shock extenders to the front because why put the right shocks on it or proper springs it handled way better he keeps saying its 4s thats a load of crap it was built for 6s with their b.s. marketing of 70 mph it cant do not stock he is clearly trying to do damage control so he can sell them. I appreciate the tip its a shame he did not have the courage to tag me if he was going to talk crap then say all youtubers are dishonest he is pos in my opinion car should come ready to go out of the box no excuses this is not a 100 dollar WL toys car its 700 more money than the Mojave it should out perform it. My comparison video is coming
@@L2theWcarscoffeelife I agree. I did like it at first but then the esc blew and I had to spend nearly $100 on shipping costs to send it back to Traxxas to get it replaced. I had a new Sledge last year which I have since gotten rid of that had the exact same blown esc issue. Once I got it back, I order a clear body and painted it to make it more scale. The body looks great but as I drove it more it started to get on my nerves. The debris buildup is unreal and the throttle is just not smooth however once I bound the Dx5c to it things have gotten better. You getting the Mojave wet my appetite to purchase a new one, so I did. I had one in the past but had forgotten what a phenomonal truck it is. For some reason I thought the Mojave was significantly slower than the Maxx/Slash but that is not the case. I made a mistake. Driving them back to back, the Mojave blows the doors off this. No ifs ands or buts and it drives how the maxx/slash should drive. Not having a power off button is completely cheap on Traxxas part as well. Its as if they purposely developed a cheap 6s esc mainly because they know so many people replace them however they still did not adjust the price. The truck does drive better with the 4s system in it but again, they market it as s 6s system. I do like Traxxas 4s system which behaves like I had hoped their 6s system would but it is not the case. They definitely need to improve many things on this but my main gripe is how the esc with this motor delivers power. It lacks the sophistication of it's competitor's and needs to be overhauled asap. I demand that a $700 rc offer an esc and motor thar work more cohesively together to deliver a smoother throttle response such that competitors offer. I drive my rc's to where I eventually let them rip so during that trip I want the vechile to drive in a smooth manner and this one just does not although the dx5c does help. Having to use a different Remote and receiver is a whole other story. The tqi is flat out terrible. It loses connection after 150-200 ft which is another annoyance.
Traxxas had a problem with some of the Xmaxx rc's catching fire so now they disable the off button, its very aggravating sometimes you need to turn it on and off several times not yank on the wires. I have not had any esc issues luckily I do find it odd the Sledge feels so much stronger than the maxx slash my Slege will back flip under full power while still moving and I have not touched the center diff. The Moave is so much smoother the power comes on stronger the suspension is what I expect it to be for this kind of rc The Traxxas is just so limited its pathetic they released it and didnt take the time to dial it in

The Moave is so much smoother the power comes on stronger the suspension is what I expect it to be for this kind of rc The Traxxas is just so limited its pathetic they released it and didnt take the time to dial it in
Terrible how open it is and gets so full of grass easily!
@scuba6797 I put the scorched rc fenders on it check out that video
