Since you went smaller spur you need to down on pinion too. You've effectively geared it up with a smaller spur.spur and pinion are opposite. Bigger spur means more power less strain. Bigger pinion means more speed, less power and more strain.
I'm enjoying your videos and I agree, it's your money and you car. I personally like to overpower my cars so that heat is no issue. But again you're having fun and that's what counts 👍🏽
Exactly its funny how people freak out what I do with my rc maybe if I said this is what you need to do but no I am just sharing the fun thank you for watching and the comment
@RobbieBain-o7f thank you very much for watching and the support. This is boosted a bit with a new esc and motor if you missed that part. Out of the box on 2s its ehhhhh ok lol other than that its a solid rc very durable and handles great
nice video, I am so looking forward to getting mine whenever they get to Australia. Going to put the VXL system with 3s in it as around 40MPH is plenty for where I want to run it. Great to see you out having fun with the car.
how do you figure its toy grade?? See thats the problem you just hate traxxas take it somewhere else you cant afford or dont like the price dont buy it thats not price gouging you have plenty of options out there I slammed this car from 15 feet into a concrete wall didnt break your calling it a toy pathetic
Traxxas is ripping us off with the junk they put in that buggy and come up with that price. Well, who cares Traxxas diehard fanboy and with deep pockets? No problem. 😂
Traxxas is overpriced. But as long as people pay what they ask then that won’t change. I have mainly Traxxas because my LHS is exclusive Traxxas. Their electronics are sub par. But they come out with some good designs so I’m a customer for life. Arrma is also good with much better spectrum electronics. As far as this JATO goes I will not be buying it. 525 for the VXL 4S I just can’t justify it. If I really need a buggy I’ll do Arrma.
I put that aluminum center drrif 20 million & aluminum drive shaft 540 vxl like u said I built the vxl already y wait ran on 3s yesterday in all I got to say is this all it amazing
@rcmarylandmillz8390 I have the center diff coming I cant believe the slipper got that tore up I am still on the original in my Rustler vxl but I am pushing 4s in this lol. Cant wait to get it in. Glad your having fun with it
Hey L2 theW👋. Have you ever put a 6s spectrum and 2050kv motor in a 4s arrma outcast ? It actually went in pretty easy . The only issue or non issue is the center drive shaft loses the bearing due to the larger motor taking up the space and one screw to hold the esc down but one with dbl sided seems to work . I kept the same pinion and will use a 4s battery . It’s raining so I ll check it out another time but on the basement floor seems decent . It didn’t really need it , well , maybe a little more power will be good for me. Seems like they had some thicker fluid in the center diff but I put 500k in there and left the others alone for the time being . If I like it , I ll put the 4s system in the granite with the steel diffs . If I don’t like it I can always put things back to stock . There was a clear difference putting a max6 g2 1650kv in a K6s . Hoping for good outcomes 🤞 . Have a great Sunday .
@Hungrybird474 cant say I have because I don't have one lol I do have the 4s Kraton pretty strong rc. I put a 6s esc in my Vendetta still on the stock motor no issues I got it to bust 100 mph. Yeah the drive shafts suck all of mine have the metal hot racing drive shafts
Sounds good . I did do that today and kept the same pinions . So 6s 2050kv in the outcast and 4s 2400kv? From the outcast in the granite with the same pinions on each . I could only do quick runs because of the rain today but the granite is awesome so far in 3s and the outcast needs a higher pinion than a 12t with a 4s . Hindsight I should have swapped the pinions but I’m running them as is tomorrow hopefully . The 4s fit perfect but tight in the granite and the 6s wasn’t a good fit with the esc cockeyed and the longer motor . I think watching this vid earlier inspired me to do the swaps . Your Jato turned out excellent 👏. I seen some rubber pieces they sell for inside diff cups to help the loose driveshafts , or a rubber o ring or the beloved airline tubing is what I’ve always used .
I guess they designed it that way I checked my VXL Rustler and it had the same play I guess you need it to help with removal of parts. Thats awesome I inspired you to do that thank you for telling me that is amazing. I am still learning about gears and that lol. Trial and error lol its fun I am going to put in a center diff which will be the higher 45 tooth spur then put in the factory 12 tooth pinion it will.slow down a bit as long as it still wheelies and back flips I am good. I appreciate the support thank you
I said in the video I recommend a center diff only after I saw what was happening there not a bling guess, and there is nothing with my motor space is tight jam in a longer can if you want or can I already said this is what I could get quick and it works fine you throw out a motor size no kv info no esc info interesting no gearing info just a center diff what kind of recommendation is that? What power 2 3 4S?? I never recommended the motor never happened I recommended a center diff and metal hexes thats all but you never said metal hexes thats perplexing as well thanks for watching
Awesome!! What gearing are you on?? Any over heating.. great video.. I already did the vxl but maybe I'll change the gearing after seeing this... lol😎🤙🏽
@basherz_den 15/40 and yeah it must have went into thermal here I need to check the settings. On a 15/45 I didn't have have heat issues at all. I am going to go back to stock 12/45 see how it does this should bring the heat down a bit more make it easier for the motor. It truly is a great rc as far as handling a durability and with 3 or 4s its real fun Traxxas screwed up the price for a 2s and so many people are hating it but I keep it honest and in my opinion its expensive but a good rc other than that
Great set-up, just need to do something about that thermal shut down. And like you said before, at least I have something to get out and play around with, like our last conversation. (Very Blessed) Thanks again for the great content!
@PRESTINERCs on the 45 spur I didn't have any problems I am still trying to figure out gearing lol I thought a 40 tooth spur would be gearing down a bit obviously I geared up so I will go back to a 45 I had no problems with that setup. All that matters is your having fun to quote Tolbert the best rc is the one that puts a smile on your face. I understand wanting more there are a lot of nice cars out there but just as long as it doesn't keep you from having fun thats the most important. Thank you for the support
@Harvz78 who said I was ripped off? Nobody forced me to buy this. I made money on ad revenue and gained a lot of subscribers still cheaper then a vxl which you cant get then half the people will.so proudly buy one then be happy to rip out the supposed junk traxxas electronics and have even more into it. Just have fun enjoying the hobby.
nice to see some builds on this. people have been doing speed run slash 4wds for a while now so the potential for speed was there for the beginning.

Have you or can you leave links to the motor and esc you spoke about earlier? That speed is insane! Nice work!

How did the Synchro 4 tires work out and how was the fit? Someone said the offset was different so you cant used regular 1/8 scale tires/rims
@@TALott1977 they fit perfectly no issues at all
I think THAT GPS mount is designed for under the chassis mounting🤣😂
@rcguygarage lol its way to pretty for that 😁 its the only wing mount approved mount 🤣🤣

Nice looks sick like the upgrades and blue wing traxxas definitely killed it on the looks of the rc I think it looks sharp....
Now we're talking...That my friend is how I would expect a Jato to rip! Great tire choice.
@@geoffreyyoung9043 thank you very much
Why would you let them rip you off knowing you are not getting what you paid for with that 💩. 🤦♂️Just ended up spending more on upgrades.

@tyshiddejuremanbey1313 it was for 2S calmn down I doubled the power its going to happen 10 bucks steel gear not a problem lol
Hello
hello my friend
Yeah, you definitely didn't build it for speed runs. Wheel nuts and a drive shaft isn't building. It's proactive maintenance.
