DEV NINTENDO NETWORK SHUT DOWN ON JUNE 20TH - I recorded this video earlier.
Yes, I did download all of these courses and there likely exists a dump of them elsewhere.
2:00 When a Super Mario Maker level was deleted because it didn't get stars, I liked to say that the level "star-ved to death".
I absolutely hated when that happened
Just remember! The devs were making hot garbage too!
Nintendo takes down glitch levels, yet makes some themselves.

to explain its basically bug testing
They were probably for testing to make sure the glitches were fixed
they were getting rid of competition
which ones were the glitch levels
This is so cool, and because the network shut down on June 20th, this is content that is unable to be re-created
me after spending 60 dollars: (i can recreate the content in smm2)

these courses prove that nintendo staff are actually just normal human beings who can sometimes make dogshit mario levels

It was probably just them trying to recreate a bug that was discovered and exploited by players, so they could patch it.

Hey, I know a little something about this! I have a video of one of these levels on my channel. Accessing the dev servers is actually something that has been know about for several years, but its been kept under wraps for what I imagine are obvious reasons. For anyone who wants to check them out for themselves, all these levels are on the internet archive. There was a funny one called something along the lines of "AUTO LEVEL HOLD RIGHT" and it would just drop a spring on you and kill you instantly. You had to find a dev exit to actually finish the level.
That's actually amazing. Could you add me on discord because I want to try to upload these to pretendo
Seeing such a crappy level get uploaded by an official maker got a good chuckle out of me
They even made bean burritos back then.... (sorta)
I remember coming back from school and making a level on this game almost every day before eating lunch

@@chipklip2The dark ages for Nintendo means the golden age for us since they start caring about the community and what people want more. They even made a promotion for Mario kart to get a free game if you pre order it

Q: How long do you plan to survive for? Is it until you’re the last one standing? Is it until your internet/hardware fail? Or until you reach a milestone, Like a year for example? Or maybe even until Nintendo manually kicks you out? How much longer do you think you can survive for too? I’m curious lol
I want to go for as long as possible. I don't really have a reason not to leave it on forever because I have other Wii Us.

This was the only Wii U game I owned physically during it's lifespan (other than Sonic Boom) and I was really into it in 2016. I'm so glad Pretendo is keeping SMM1 alive.
I don't understand why accounts that were connected to servers before are still connected, why didn't Nintendo just unplug the server rack?

You can't access them anymore since they shut down mid June

@@Bupboythey were accessible either with a dev Wii U or by modifying your console to connect to dev servers.

Was it some URL list, kinda like how Pretendo patches the URLs?
What File was the one that got modified for that? And is there somewhere that tells us how to do it, even if the Server is down today?

My friend was trying to make something that would let you access the Minecraft servers but he only managed to make the error pop up disappear, he couldn't move at all even with the error pop up gone

Yes, the levels are all archived and some of the MK8 ghosts are archived. I think the Dr. Luigi leaderboards are too

I downloaded all of the ~240 that were uploaded. There could have been more that were deleted that we don't know about though.

What's with your video encoding? Every frame is multiple (when paused). It kind of hurts my eyes
It's because I recorded the gameplay in 30fps.
