Currently thinking of getting the sigma, have had the canon 24mm stm for quite a while now and planning on upgrading. Only thing holding me back is the size difference.
Thank you for the review. I am thinking of getting Sigma for my Canon R7. How do you think it will perform on its crop high megapixel sensor? Would I be better off going with RF 24mm 1.8? I think Sigma has better look and I like that it is more solid.
Every lens will be seriously challenged by the 32.5 MP sensor of a Canon R7. If if I were to choose, I would get the RF 24 f/1.8 because the SIgma 24 f/1.4 is quite heavy, you need an adapter for it (that again, adds to the weight and size of the setup). I will always prefer native lenses on mirrorless cameras (comfort, ease of use) and, on image quality, the RF 24 f/1.8 is good enough. Hope this helps!
Thank you very much, Jacob! The funny thing is that my next video will be about The Canon 24mm f2.8 vs the Canon 50mm f1.8 STM. It will be posted next week. I`m working on it, but already know the results. As you will see, it will surprise you, but the two lenses are quite similar in terms of sharpness. Now that you wrote this comment, I will be more careful while prepping my opinions about the two (I will look more carefully).

There is a significant size difference, indeed, but I believe the f/1.4 aperture is worth it.

I recently took shots with my Canon f2.8 24mm and compared to my 50mm, the 24mm is just not sharp. Good breakdown review.
