    I’m 63. Tried all the diets & exercises w/o results. A few months ago I tried Keto and finally made it to Zero Carb (carnivore) it started to help when I included Int. Fasting… and this spring I’ve added a 2+ mile power walk each morning. Now my BP has dropped to normal and I’m loosing the weight. Good luck to you all.

    • @diamondkharness

      Yes. No fruits. I’ve cheated and had some and it stalled the whole process. Getting into & staying in ketosis mode takes some serious effort. Hang in there. You can have some “ in season “ fruit next year, once the weight has been removed.

    I do brisk walk for45 minutes with GTY sermons by pastor John MacArthur; Then I do 30 minutes aerobics and abs exercises with Oceans Hillsong worship. I am 68 years old and I do this every day nonstop for the last 7 years; I used to be a type 2 diabetic; I started exercising and stopped all medication. You can also try.

    I walk about an hour a day outside with my exercise machine with fur (my Border Collie-Australian Shepherd rescue dog), along with dumbbell exercises three times a week. We go every day without fail unless it’s icy or the snow is too deep. Then I do the elliptical. My BP was 108/78 yesterday at the doctor’s office, and I am in my sixties.

      @@ellinidatriandafilo5710 Keep at it. I also quit adding salt to any food, try to watch what I eat as far as chips,etc., seldom eat fried foods of any kind. Do you have a device like a Fitbit to track your activity and heart rate? My doctor said those are helpful because we can’t fudge the numbers, and it tracks our progress. Getting the heart rate in the cardio range is important. One of the biggest things I did was quit drinking alcohol, except for one or two beers a month, and I quit drinking Gatorade. It also helped me to lose well to do that. When I dropped weight is when I noticed the biggest improvement in my BP. Good luck

    Yoga! Of all the exercises I have participated in over the years, yoga has been my favorite. Bicycles are dangerous. I know 2 bike riders and both have been in the hospital more than once from bicycle mishaps. But yoga has its risks too. Do it wrong, or push yourself too hard, force yourself too deep into a pose, and you can definitely cause injury. I like yoga because of its holistic nature. It incorporates mindfulness, awareness and meditation along with physical part.

    I'm 74 and took up running to get in better shape. I replaced an addiction to smoking with an addiction to running over a period of time. I've been running for more than 40 years, taking up an addiction to running which wound up replacing an addiction to smoking cigarettes among others. My doctor told me to take up the elliptical trainer or stair master to avoid further damage to my knee cartilage. I'm still running, but have adjusted to running up hills and walking down hills. The principal pounding is done on declines. So far so good, still running.

    I walk at my neighborhod park on average 4-5 days a week, approximately an hour each time. I notice that most people who walk with their dogs are using the park as the dog's bathroom and are very seldomly exercising.

      Hi Stuart, I walk most days with my dog Oreo. I always take plastic bags with me to scoop the poop. I listen to podcasts and youtube videos while I walk. It's kind of my portable audio university time. I love my walks. Thanks for sharing.

      Phyllis, there are many exercises you can do from a wheelchair. Just go to youtube and type in "wheelchair workout" and you'll find many workout programs. Here's one example. ruclips.net/video/FkpOJgzpmec/видео.html

    Chronic dehydration also contributes to high BP.

    • @HealthyBloodPressure
      @HealthyBloodPressure  3 года назад +1

      Mark, actually, dehydration is more associated with low blood pressure. BUT, like you said, when a person is "chronically" dehydrated it can lead to high blood pressure because the body secrets a chemical that constricts blood vessels. Thanks for your comment.

      Steve, if you can't walk well, you can do sitting exercises. Just go to youtube and type in "wheelchair workout" or "seated workout" and you'll find many workout programs. Here's one example. ruclips.net/video/FkpOJgzpmec/видео.html

    Isometrics are the best. 2 mins with knees at 90 degrees and back against a wall is nearly twice as good as walking.

    I walk, jog 14K per day and eat very healthily and sleep well but my systolic measure is always around 35-38, diastolic 80! Maybe it’s inherited?
