Hey Doc! You showed us planks and stated a duration of 30 seconds - 2 minutes. I sometimes plank for up to 10 minutes at a time….will I get more benefit out of the longer duration, or not. I generally go longer as a discipline, but if it lowers BP even more, all the better! Thanks for the vid!
@@magvs_mæstro216 Good Morning: Start off gradually, Start walking for 10 minutes one week, then gradually increase walking time. It does wonders for weight loss and arthritis too. Walking has helped me lose 130 pounds. Good Luck! (Sandy) 😊😊
Has walking reduced your blood pressure? I walk regularly too - since the pandemic but it hasn't changed my blood pressure. I shall try these squats etc..
I already do some yoga every morning and a walk or aerobic exercise every early evening. I will add these daily and see if they make a difference. I’m 83.
yep, i concur - i have super high hypertension (210/135) and these work really, really well - I guess my body is just over excited, needs a lot of calming down. And yes, I am on a course of bp reducing meds - it sits around 140/80 now.
Hii do u have Instagram I want to know more about your journey.my father have similar blood pressure and it's been stressing me lately I really need your help
I am 61 Taking medicine since 15 year ago, and since 2 year I am doing plank 2 minute, squat 30 times and some other exercise and yoga, But I am afraid to say none of yoga and exercise work So I doubt My systolic pressure is sometime 180/160 And dilostic is 90/85 Does room jugging and meditation , breathing lower pressure?
I never hear such number of pressure in my life, I am 60 Kindly tell me which medicine you are taking and which exercise you are doing and after doing exercise how long it take to reduce pressure, It will be helpful to all people what diet you are taking? Thanks for your time and advice
Hello Doc , great video . I’m running on one kidney and on BP meds , have been for 20 years …..this is something worth trying to keep the BP in check 👍
❤🙏💙🌻thank you dr yes are used to go to gym and do exercise. Better my health, than now I have to start exercise again, because I have high blood pressure
You need to squat lower, doc. Upper legs parallel to the floor, knee at right angle. After 30 seconds I can only groan. But in my mid 60s I can still do the Asian squat for a couple minutes.
I do sort of exercises, walk, squats, recently i start with push ups. somehow my BP is hight I ended in emergency room, blood test result a bit low in potassium. I ask my self I should not have high BP
I am 22 and i got this problem of high BP 😢 its been 17 days since i have left consuming salt, i'm taking max 1-3g ,not more than that my systolic lowers from 150 --> 120 or 115 sometimes 110 also but my diastolic stuck at 90 before it was 100 but its not reducing below 90 what should i do and i am not taking any medicine as well i want to do it in a natural way and yeah 1 thing more i have deficiency of vitamin B 12 and D i mean its very very low
No worries just reduce salt intake And switch to fruits like banana and apple And vegetables like spinach, potatoes And 30 mint exercise And don't check BP regularly I am also 30 yrs old Same condition like u One doctor told me take medicine but he was dull and ignorant Then I visited another doctor He told me don't take medicine Just be stress free and do exercise Take less salt
@@Repenting_muslim1 that's exactly what happened with me that medicine thing. My bp got reduced (naturally) to systolic 125-110 diastolic 76-70 after 1.5 months of rigorous diet but now as i am gradually starting to take a bit more salt my BP is again rising and now a days it stays between 80 - 85 diastolic maybe its happening because i am not that consistent with my excercise routine
Suppose to hold for 2min..rest 1 or 2 min and repeat for 4 sets..3 to 5x per week....you scale them until you get better at them....ie: don't squat parallel, hold where can for 2 min....another is a hand grip, like squeezing a tennis ball a sock etc..30 to 50% of max contraction...then there the leg extension do it the same as the hand grip..all are done for 2 min with 2 min rest repeated 4x...the ones I mentioned are also from a study..saw it in another vid

It does look like your blood pressure has come down significantly. That's more than 120 difference on the systolic reading. I changed my diet and have garlic and beetroot everyday. I try deep breathing (Adam Story on RUclips) and basic exercises. My blood pressure has come down but I'd like to get rid of my meds.
I would start by trying to do each one and holding it for between 30 seconds to 2 minutes. Start slow and then challenge yourself over time to try different positions like I show in the video.
Struggling with my BP. Taking 10mg Amlodipine, 16mg Candersaten, 1.25mg of Bisoprolol and 4mg of Doxasosin. Also on 175mcg of Levothyroxine. My creatinine is 10.3mg/mmol. At my wits end and don't know what to do. Please help me as I want to reduce the number of meds I am on
You need to do it while you're seeing the doctor. When they offer you a chair just say no doctor I'm fine like this against the wall. No really I'm fine.
These are good but the first advice should be diet. Cut out alcohol, seed oils, sugar, and processed foods. Eat a keto or even better carnivore mainly beef. Oh yeah quit smoking for sure.
Been a vegan for more than 10 years, I exercise daily, I'm a disabled veteran, no one else in my family has high BP problems. I've had some horrible experiences in the V.A. so now when I go see the doctor my BP goes instantly up to 202/98 which makes them give an EKG and a nitro pill that triggers my migraines. EKG always comes back as negative to anything wrong with my heart. The doctor now has me taking three different types, I've developed kidney problems because of it and neuropathy. The only oils I use to cook with is EVOO from a good source and coconut oil from a good source. Cut out sugars and processed foods, since I left the military back 2010. The only time my BP goes up is when even a video chat will cause it. They've tried all sorts of tests, so they said that I'm going to have a stroke one day, if we don't figure out the right meds for me to take . I'm tired of taking meds. ❤
Wonderful content. I like how these isometric exercises don’t require gym memberships and equipment, too!
Thanks so much @mickeyfc1643 - so glad to hear this - being able to do them at home has really been useful for me as well.

How often and duration of these three exercises.

How long on wall sits and how long relax?
You can vary the angle, time, etc. I would suggest slow and steady to begin and work your way to trying different positions.
How long should we hold in each position.
I think 2min. And rest 2min also do 4 sets
Thankyou. Hope this helps me before my flight huhu
I hope so too. Thanks so much for watching
Do you recommend probiotics for hypertension?
How many times a week do I need to do these exercises to notice a drop in BP?

Always found walking or jogging difficult to fit into my schedule but this would be ideal hence my question
Even 15 minutes of movement a day can make a difference!
How effective is this? How long will it be effective?
Is it for low bp problem or high bp problem
For high BP…do these to lower your high blood pressure
Can seniors above sixty-five years go for these exercises?
Depends on your level of fitness and mobility!
How many mins should you do each exercise for?
I do regular and felling well
What if you have arthritis, and bad knees, what will work.
Try Popeyes chicken and donuts 🍩
look up isometric hand grip exercises, they are among the exercises that are supposed to help lower blood pressure.
