- The Thompson Zihuatanejo had been long on my list of properties to visit, since I love the Thompson brand and love my World of Hyatt Globalist status! Located in the town of Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, which is a direct flight from several US cities including Phoenix and Los Angeles, it's a quick 20 minute drive from the airport to the resort. Located on Playa La Ropa, the best beach in town, this resort does not disappoint. While you won't find any deals when it comes to food prices, the food quality is excellent, and I was thrilled to spend 3 nights here! Stayed here when it was Viceroy. An amazingly intimate resort. Big enough to wander, quiet enough to relax. Excellent location

Love your Hyatt reviews. A shame for those of us with small kids that even when using a TSU here, it's just one big room. Looks really nice for couples, though!
Definitely a downside and I don’t think this is the most amazing resort for kids. Kinda boring for them!
Would they allow me to bring my own bottle into my room that I purchased out in town? Can I bring in my own waters and beers ?

Too bad it’s so expensive that the average person can’t stay here:(. It is nice though to admire how the other half live from the beach !!
