Hey jawtooth. Your videos have inspired us to rent a place in La Grange to see these street running trains for ourselves. We rented a place right on Main St with a front porch view. I have been watching your videos pretty much daily since i had my first daughter 2.5yrs ago. I ask her every morning "do you want to see what jawtooth is up to today?" and she is always excited for trains. Thanks for all your great videos, they've brought a lot of comfort to this lifelong railfan.
I love the street running trains! It's kind of like a monster creeping through the middle of town, not saying a word. Thanks for the continued great content.
I had heard of this large political rally in 1940 in Elwood Indiana. A concentration of 63 trains to bring in the attendees is something! At that time, Elwood was a major railroad station. Not to be mistaken, I don't think it has ever happened here since. The place is quieter now! Thank you for this evocation.
@@JawTooth Hi, That was very informative. I grew up in a city close to Elwood. In school we learned about the president’s race between those two gentlemen. But I did not know about the trains. I thought you said that the maximum speed for a train going through a city was ten miles an hour. So why did the city allow trains to travel so fast? Approximately how fast was that train going? I have a steam locomotive and a diesel. Since this was taken on October 22 I hope you see this and are able to respond! 🎃
@@stevencochran4658 The ten mile speed limit is for the locomotives in LaGrange, Kentucky. After the locomotives get off the street running track they can go up to 25mph. Each city is different.

😂Nobody walks here. In the big cities maybe as there us a huge lack of parking. Major cities like New York and Washington DC have underground’s. San Francisco and LA have some. Most cities have a lack of quick transportation. I live in a small Midwest town now and there are buses but it takes a very long time to get anywhere and the clientele on them is not something I would like to be in the proximity of. I lived in San Diego for 56 years and public transport sucks. My daughter didn’t own a car and it literally took her 2 hours to get to work which would have taken 10 minutes by car. In California cities it Is not safe to walk anywhere right now
