      I completely agree, I had a tudor bb58, a normal size blackbay and a couple of steinharts, this to me is basically on par with the tudor, I actually much prefer this than either of the tudors considering I sold all of those watches and keep the ginault as my only watch. In fact my first steinhart last crown stem fell out about 2 weeks or it may have been within the guarantee period and steinhart refused to help me

  • @OFD

    I'm not aware of it being necessary to "depress" the bezel to turn. My Steinhart ocean 1 GMT had the same "creak " in the bezel, but that was a lower price point. Excellent review btw, very happy I found your channel! !

    As usual very good review Jody!...., BUT why would anyone purchase a Ginault for $1,300 when there are so many offerings by other exceptional microbrands for around half or more of Ginault’s retail price (Helson, Borialis, Zelos and Axios just to name a few). Unless someone is looking for an exact copy (homage) to the Rolex Submariner (and don’t want to dish out $10K for one), I cannot see anyone spending that much money, heck anyone wanting a Ginault, just go to eBay there are numerous offerings and people can save at least 40% or more on a pre-owned timepiece, or check the watch forums for people looking to swap or part exchange.

    Perfect alignment, no play, clear sound of the 120 clicks and regular force to move the bezel along the whole ride.
    I love this watch and it has more wrist time than my beloved omega seamaster.

    Hello Jody, Ginault.... !!!! it is a fascinating story still continuing.... Ginault watch created by Tsung Chi aka Charles Ginault aka..few more.
    Personally, I knew at the moment I bought a watch from them. No physical address, No customer service phone #, and actually no customer service what so ever. Their watches weren't hand built in America. It was Hand built in Fake Rolex factory in China and so as the fake copy movement. Ginault had us going for few years, but eventually the truth came out.

      @@liambrown1216 yes, i certainly did. but when i bought it, i never know that the movement was shit and made in China (I guess that I believed Ginault's fake publicity). Also, I only found out later on that Ginault never had any good warranty service nor good communication.

    • @liambrown1216
      @liambrown1216 5 лет назад +2

      Your bad experience doesn't reflect the brand as a whole. there's plenty (including myself) who receive good customer support from John (albeit a little slow) and had no issues with the watch or warranty. As for the movement call it what you will but it's regulated perfectly and +2 seconds daily after 2 years is pretty impressive if you ask me. Go ask other long term owners how thiers is doing I have no doubt most will say the same thing. In addition to that it's easily swappable to a ETA 2824-2.

    • @alexsdg3441
      @alexsdg3441 5 лет назад +1

      @@liambrown1216 I never said that my own personal experience reflect the brand as a whole. this is youtube comment section where you leave your own comments and opinions of a certain products. THAT is all I did. Nothing more or nothing less. if you or anyone else had great experience, kudos for you and them. and I am very happy for you and them. I am just telling my own experience. what is wrong with that?
      if you had a wonderful experience with Ginault, just leave your remarks on your own comments. again, I am happy that you had a good experience. I am sure that some people had good experience and some didn't. you don't have to tell the person how it should be. Just comment your own things in your own comment.

    Yes sub does depress slightly as does Tudor divers. Does look like a nice watch and by all accounts well made too.however this company have to start exercising a little transparency. . Some of their claims are questionable to say the least ..By all accounts could be purchased a few months ago for 560 dollars. Today if I wanted to ship one in to the uk with taxes and shipping it would be around 1600 dollars.. Thats just ridiculous and they certainly won't gain many friends with such dubious business practices. Too many unanswered questions regarding this company and the secrecy has many wondering if their heart is in Asia..

      Mad For it I had two Steinhart and, after buying the Ginault, they looked cheap and without any charme. I sold them with no regrets

    I like all of your video Jody. This watch is definitely beautiful. I also came across the Ginault controversy (Tsung Chi) (lexic.co/deepdweller/exposing-ginaults-illegal-past-tsung-chi-and-thomas-caddell). It was quite interesting read and convincing. Well putting all of those asides / all of the legality kind of stuffs mentioned in the article exposing Tsung Chi, it appears that this watch is quite solid watch. I would love to put my hand on one. It is still a ton of work and efforts to make such a watch.

    Promo is over and I would say not really worth the full retail price. Just my opinion.

      I would agree. I also hear that they are still offering 40% off which imho is about spot on. Cheers!

      Just One More Watch I went to the website but didn’t see the 40% thing. Would love to compare this to my Steinhart OVM MAXI LE from Gnomon

    The Ginault is one model that is NOT on my shopping list, in spite of this animated and biased review (got it cheap from the guys at Ginault did you?) the watch is crap, and the Chinese copy movement is awful, yet they charge anything up to $ 1,500.00 for this piece, hmmm. Buy at your own risk. Love to hear from actual unbiased owners how accurate this watch is, I know it loses /gaines up to 2 minutes a day.

      Hey mate! Thanks for the message. The Ginault was the most expensive watch I bought last year, and I love it. Have you ever handled one? Doubt it. I made four videos and a one year update. You should check those for movement accuracy. But if you still wanna hate on it, help yourself. Cheers!

      Didn’t sound biased to me at all should be careful judging the person based on your opinion of the watch.

    If this is overpriced....what's a real Rolex? Lmfao. Too many fakes COPIES wannabes(watches that actually say rolex that arent)....GINAULT homages or whatever you wanna call it) Rolex is a complete ripoff in my opinion. People building basically the exact watch for fractions the price.....all your buying with Rolex is a name. Go buy a house or something useful with your Rolex money
