I love Long Island Watch! It's really cool how you guys show alot of humility and are engaged with the watch community. You guys are on the opposite spectrum of soul-less business.
In some ways it is quite handy that I get to your posts late as most of the watches you show are out of stock by the time I get to view them. Watch collecting is an illness.
Some good choices but for me the Casio Duro makes a great beater watch on a Nato, same bezel look as a Rolex Sub, well made and everything lines up, only poor point is average lume otherwise great watch for the small cost.
Oh, great! You show some amazing expensive watches and inexpensive alternatives to each...and I want all of them! Why is that? One thing I noticed is that the Tauchmeister is very similar to the Citizen Promaster Diver, with the inclusion of the dive table on the strap to the overall look and feel of it. Not that that's a bad thing; I have the Eco-Drive variant in blue and think it's a tremendous value for the price. Thanks Marc!
My son is in the military. He’s younger, so he leans towards smart watches. When he was sent overseas, I thought he needed a tough watch. I bought him an SKX. now he is a two writer and almost never takes it off.
I own the Orient Captain both the one shown here and the blue bracelet version as well. They are great looking very solid and functional watches. Highly recommend!
Really enjoyed the lower cost comparison video Marc. Thanks for introducing me to some tempting alternative and affordable (for me) time pieces to possibly purchase. Going to have a look at your online store now. Cheers👍🏻
Hey ... if i was to get a dress watch. shall i go for GRAF ZEPPELIN SWISS QUARTZ CHRONOGRAPH WATCH WITH ALARM FUNCTION #7680-1 Or ORIENT AUTOMATIC SUN AND MOON WATCH WITH SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL #ET0T002S ??
Hi, I love your videos. I'm learning so much from them. I have a nickel allergy and right now I'm basically confined to fossil, Seiko, and anything all titanium. It would be awesome if you could do a video about nickel free watches as I'm having a hard time finding the exact stainless steel that different manufacturers use. Thanks!
Marc Thank You for an excellent Video! I confess, I’m a Watch Addict! Just when I think Ive made my last Watch Purchase for a while, You show some new beautiful Timepieces! I thoroughly enjoy your videos! Thanks so much for your detailed explanations!
I find it ironic that many people who aspire to Rolex ownership forget Rolex origins. They were made (in fact mass produced) as superbly built tools much favoured by professional users. Superb time pieces but not low volume luxury items
As for wearing two watches, evveryones got their own thing. Kudos. What you're doing signifies being contrnt with ones self, and having the self confidence enough to "do your own thing," without concern for what others may think. Which you should do. Being as you don't even know 99% of the people that lay eyes on you during the day, who cares what "they" think. Do what feels right, makes you happy, brings you joy. We "only live once," so follow your heart. We don't get a second chance, so always follow your heart, because dying with regret is tantamount to hell.
Back in school (about 6. - 8. grade) I had someone sitting on my side, always trying to press buttons on that digital watch. So as a right handed person I got used to wear the watch on the other side...but as it became normal for me, it confused me at first, that many people thought I'd be left handed. :D
Finally someone features tauchmeister! I have the "T0228M" lime green dial. The Lume is great on these it lasts the whole night. MARC THANK YOU. In my honest opinion I think these watches are understated despite having Miyota movements instead of German movements.
I have the cream coloured dial with a bracelet and I think the cream dial is one of the most beautiful watch dials I own, its also one of the most accurate watches I own being beaten only but a couple grand seikos one of which is spring drive
I have the first generation Orient Sun and Moon watch. I get a lot of compliments for it. I've also turned down some attractive offers for it, more than I paid for it when it was new, years ago.
Get the look for less #1 - Seiko SNA411 is the same size and layout as the Navitimer Heritage. GTLFL #2 - Seiko SKA371 looks a lot like a Seamaster Pro 300 (skeleton hands, second pusher). Both watches are right around $220..
Hi; love your chanel; high quality content. I have a question for you Re: the Quartz version of the Zeppelin in this video. While the stopwatch is running can you Split/ Lap? Like for example; on a Timex while the stopwatch is running, if you press the bottom pusher you get a Split and the watch keeps the stopwatch running in the background. Thanks
From personal experience I find it quite annoying that the Tauchmeister have a black secondhand on a black background. Apart from that it is a great watch for the price.
Wow, I've come across yhese Zeppelin watches, but kinda always scrolled past them because I'm a huge Led Zeppelin fan, and I thought having a watch named Zeppelin would just cause a bunch of problems for me because every friend of mine will assume I bought it simply for the name, and I would have a hard time explaining to them that that's not the reason. However, I didn't know they had an affordable model with an alarm. Definitely gonna look more into them now. The Orient also kinda tickled my fancy. The Tracer's are really not my style, but even so, I really liked them (more than many other modern heavy-duty military watches)... I must say, you have great taste! Also, I need to get my eyes into the Islander watches one of these days. Kind regards from the cold Northern Norway!
I have been looking for a German made watch to add to my collection, zeppelin is the one I've been looking at and also junkers but this video has confirmed that zeppelin is the one for me :-)
Where can i buy to feel safe and to make sure that I’m getting the original there are lot aliexpress fakes, are zeppelin usually cheaper like I’ve seen in the official site some are ranginging around 300€ and for the same price also available in amazon ebay, what i need to look for when buying is there any certificate included in the box for original
My wrist are opposite I’m right handed and unless it has a buckle strap leather or NATO it will not fit my wrist. None of my steel band watches fit my left wrist except my submariner since it’s got the glide lock so I can easily make it big enough to fit.
I have been forcing myself to wear two watches lately bc I have an Apple watch and I have my everyday Tissot Gentleman. It definitely gets weird looks, but hopefully one day it will be the style since Apple watches do so much for health and whatnot. I won't stop wearing my favorite automatic watches tho.
Great video Marc. More videos like this would be cool. btw, got my Bambino during the big one week sale. I'm loving it. Want a Junkers or Zeppelin next. I'll keep watching
that's funny about the dominant wrist being a bit thicker than the non dominant! for me it's the opposite, i'm left handed too but i always wear my watch on the left hand (on the dominant) and sometimes i try to wear a watch on my right wrist and ifind i always have to jump a notch bigger on the wrist holes.... perhaps it's because i have quite the protruding num at the edge of my wrist (can someone explain that num to me? i know it's part of the bones but it's quite tall compared to my left hand)
Hi Mark, I am looking for a watch with the annual date (Month, day, date) with also the second time zone. That it has a clear reading. Suggest me someone good with acceptable cost.
shmendrik213 if I had the money I'd buy Sinn 103 ST SA. but since I don't... the next best thing is this orient Captain... ordered it yesterday... arriving today...a bit concerned about it's 45mm case though... my wrist is approximately 7 inches (a few mm less)... hopefully it doesn't look like I've worn my dad's watch like a kid
Tuan Le I got the watch from orient India website www.orientwatch.in/product/captain-stt11004b0/ It's run by official dealers and distributors (jethmalani Jewelers)... I got it when it was in an offer for around 140 USD.
Okay, Marc, I've got you figured out. As you present your videos, you discuss the things I really like - this gets me to buy more watches! Man, oh, man, I'm never satisfied; this is horological addiction! I need help!
So what makes the automatic Zeppelin 4 times more expensive than the quartz? Is it the movement only or is there an actual difference in the quality of the materials? dial, strap etc?
Hey guys, man do I love these vintage-looking, yellow colored watches with domed cases! I'd really appreciate any suggestion of similar looking brands and models, in the below 500euro price range. For now all I'm finding are Orient Bambinos, and these Zeppelin. But I'd love to know a wider variety. Thanks in advance!
Hey mate - interesting watch channel - congrats from Australia. What are your thoughts on progressive US brands - I have a Shinola but interested in your thoughts on others.
Love the channel. Just a question though. You mentioned the Orient sun sand moon in blue at the beginning which is beautiful. I raced to your web sight and there it is on the very top of your page. OUT OF STOCK? When is it coming back?
Marc, Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! As always, very useful, informative, interesting, and entertaining! You're a good man... God bless and take care...
I bought this zeppelin model. Beautiful dial for the price and beautiful dome crystal. Love it. BUT this watch is not reliable. The case feel cheap. It often stop by itself. I have to knock a bit to make it move again. Now, it cant move at all. Good watch cosmetically yes, good watch no.
It was OK. What was the name of the third and fourth watch? First it was zeppelin , orient, marathon and? Names of watches should be highlighted in subtitles. Thank you. Awaiting a response
Is a shame, the orient has battery and mineral cristal.. I prefer automatic movement.. the Marathon is automatic and saphiro cristal but $3,970 usd of difference instead Orient model.
Long Island Watch - if the zeppelin says 50m water resistance, what's the reason that I can't take it swimming? It's definitely not going deeper than a single meter. I'm unfamiliar with water resistance as a rating in general, so if it doesn't mean 'it can resist water to this depth' then what's the designation for?
I love Long Island Watch! It's really cool how you guys show alot of humility and are engaged with the watch community. You guys are on the opposite spectrum of soul-less business.
Thank you, I appreciate it.
Zeppelin is definitely an amazing choice for those who wants to have luxury, class etc at affordable price👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks Marc for offering lower price alternatives for those of us on a smaller watch budget...love the Zeppelin !!!
Thank you for checking it out.
That's true.
great video Marc, not everyone can afford high end watches so good to see alternatives.
Thank you!
I own very expensive watches and I own a Zeppelin chrono big date. I love it. It punches well above its weight.
Oh, great! You show some amazing expensive watches and inexpensive alternatives to each...and I want all of them! Why is that?

Thanks Marc!
that Zeppelin is a great watch for the value
I have the PVD version of the Orient, which I bought from you! Absolutely amazing watch and has taken a high place in my 20+ watches.
My son is in the military. He’s younger, so he leans towards smart watches. When he was sent overseas, I thought he needed a tough watch. I bought him an SKX. now he is a two writer and almost never takes it off.

Really enjoyed the lower cost comparison video Marc. Thanks for introducing me to some tempting alternative and affordable (for me) time pieces to possibly purchase. Going to have a look at your online store now. Cheers👍🏻
Thank you!
Really liked the Zeppelin...either one!
Is it weird? Yeah. But you get over it
-Marc 2017
:)
This zeppelin is a killer. Got it last week and looks amazing.
Hey ... if i was to get a dress watch. shall i go for GRAF ZEPPELIN SWISS QUARTZ CHRONOGRAPH WATCH WITH ALARM FUNCTION #7680-1
Or
ORIENT AUTOMATIC SUN AND MOON WATCH WITH SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL #ET0T002S ??
Hmmm, the Orient I think!

You haven’t talked about the lume of the zeppelin which is amazinnnnnng!
Great vid - excellent selection of some lower cost options to classic watches. Especially love the Zeppelin and the Orient. Thanks for posting this!
Thank you for watching.

its 2018 and the Orient Captain is up in price its like 300 now from 160 crazy
You’ve just introduced me to my next watch!
Back in school (about 6. - 8. grade) I had someone sitting on my side, always trying to press buttons on that digital watch. So as a right handed person I got used to wear the watch on the other side...but as it became normal for me, it confused me at first, that many people thought I'd be left handed. :D
LOL!
I wear 2 watches too! One for show and a casio databank for "work" but mostly show
Finally someone features tauchmeister! I have the "T0228M" lime green dial. The Lume is great on these it lasts the whole night. MARC THANK YOU. In my honest opinion I think these watches are understated despite having Miyota movements instead of German movements.
I would agree with you; glad you like them

Very good overview and honest video conveying that we do not always have to spend a fortune on a watch to enjoy it.
Thanks Marc!!
That's the whole idea : )
Get the look for less #1 - Seiko SNA411 is the same size and layout as the Navitimer Heritage. GTLFL #2 - Seiko SKA371 looks a lot like a Seamaster Pro 300 (skeleton hands, second pusher). Both watches are right around $220..
Nice comparison
Great video. As always I enjoyed all your videos especially the watch and learn series
Always can rely on this channel to give you the straight goods
it is 3 years now - since this video - and it still looks fresh and makes immense sense - do you still sell them
Hi; love your chanel; high quality content. I have a question for you Re: the Quartz version of the Zeppelin in this video. While the stopwatch is running can you Split/ Lap? I'm still wearing my timex expedition I'm thinking about picking up a Seiko snk809 for now and then saving up for something better
Kind regards from the cold Northern Norway!
Great video. I find myself liking quite a few of those.
Great video. That Orient though... how do they do what they do for what they charge? Amazing..
Good control of labor and materials, and production on a large scale - like Seiko or Citizen.
sweatshops
Totally agree. I got a ray ii in blue and I love it!
Peter Shallis did they ship in italy?
That's your store ship in Croatia . Best regards Marin
Marc these are amazing suggestions, loved them all.
Glad you enjoyed
Thanks Marc for the heads up👍
I have been looking for a German made watch to add to my collection, zeppelin is the one I've been looking at and also junkers but this video has confirmed that zeppelin is the one for me :-)
Great, thank you!
That Orient is amazing. Wish it was solar though. I wonder if they have a similar model without a chronograph.
Hello Mark, Thank you for bringing us some options. That Orient chronograph is a must have in my collection. Ordering now. :)
Haha, thank you!
My wrist are opposite I’m right handed and unless it has a buckle strap leather or NATO it will not fit my wrist. None of my steel band watches fit my left wrist except my submariner since it’s got the glide lock so I can easily make it big enough to fit.
Always enjoy your vids. Very informative.
Thanks!
They way you made the presentation of the watches made me subscribe.
Wonderful video ✔️
(I don't speak English, sorry if I wrote wrong)
Like the Zeppelin with the alarm and the Orient
I sure wish that Zep had sapphire crystal.
Thank you Mark, best youtube watch knowledge ever.
Wow, thank you.
Love the look of that Zeppelin 7680-1 & can pick it up for under $AU400.00.
I’m a lefty but was taught that watches are worn on your left arm.
Ooh, I like those Trasers. Nice video, thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Wow I really learned quite a bit about these awesome watches! Thanks!
Thanks!
Great video Marc. More videos like this would be cool. btw, got my Bambino during the big one week sale. I'm loving it. Want a Junkers or Zeppelin next. I'll keep watching
Great to hear, thank you!
At first wearing a watch was a little weird, now I always need a watch from sleeping to in the shower
LOL, a convert!
I am not so sure this is a good thing or not.
@@operasinger2126 exactly my thoughts
I can only assume why the Marathon Dive watches are that expensive: The 'Defense Contractor Tax' thing
that's funny about the dominant wrist being a bit thicker than the non dominant! for me it's the opposite, i'm left handed too but i always wear my watch on the left hand (on the dominant) and sometimes i try to wear a watch on my right wrist and ifind i always have to jump a notch bigger on the wrist holes.... perhaps it's because i have quite the protruding num at the edge of my wrist (can someone explain that num to me? i know it's part of the bones but it's quite tall compared to my left hand)
Hi Mark, I am looking for a watch with the annual date (Month, day, date) with also the second time zone. That it has a clear reading. Suggest me someone good with acceptable cost.
I knew a cat who wore two watches. Not weird by today's standards. He just loved watches. Gotta love Orient.
The Orient is awesome! Looks a lot like the Sinn 103 pilot watches.
It is a stunner.
shmendrik213 if I had the money I'd buy Sinn 103 ST SA. but since I don't... the next best thing is this orient Captain... ordered it yesterday... arriving today...a bit concerned about it's 45mm case though... my wrist is approximately 7 inches (a few mm less)... hopefully it doesn't look like I've worn my dad's watch like a kid
+Vamsi Mohan Krishna Vadrevu where did you buy it? (Amazon, ebay ...??)
Tuan Le I got the watch from orient India website www.orientwatch.in/product/captain-stt11004b0/ It's run by official dealers and distributors (jethmalani Jewelers)... I got it when it was in an offer for around 140 USD.

Lol
I like your videos . Very informative . From the Philippines
what's the watch that you were wearing on your right hand at beginning of the video? Thanks
The branded gloves are genius. Keep it up, Marc.
Haha, thanks.
Such a great channel, love it
I like silver and gold colored dress watches.
many thanks for the choices
Thanks for checking it out.
So what makes the automatic Zeppelin 4 times more expensive than the quartz? Is it the movement only or is there an actual difference in the quality of the materials? dial, strap etc?

I really appreciate your video......thank you.
excellent and interesting choices, low budget with the feeling of very special watches
Yes, thanks!
Nice Marc! Those badboys are BIG! Orient also has a quartz chrono reminiscent of those sweet Zepplins.
They sure are, glad you liked!
if i want to buy quartz, i only gets the digital type with no moving parts. no servicing needed. usually much more functions than analog quartz too.
Love the channel. Just a question though. You mentioned the Orient sun sand moon in blue at the beginning which is beautiful. I raced to your web sight and there it is on the very top of your page. OUT OF STOCK? When is it coming back?
More next week!
when the sun and moon comes back in stock let me know I'll buy one maybe two
I love those Zeppelin watches.
They are gorgeous. And the cases are very detailed.
I visited the Zeppelin museum in Germany, Friedrichshafen this may, they displayed them (for sale of course).
Great options
I'm loving the simplicity of the Tauchmeister AND the blasted case. Any chance that you can get it on a bracelet?
What's the name of that Shadow military automatic watch again?
Thank you Marc
That shadow is a leftie watch, can`t have it on your left hand and adjust it lol, but it looks real nice IMO..
Marc, Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! As always, very useful, informative, interesting, and entertaining! You're a good man...
God bless and take care...
Thanks for watching, as usual.
+ Long Island Watch Marc, You're very welcome, but it's my pleasure!
vegasaxeman and
Great watches and fantastic channel! Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
I bought this zeppelin model. Beautiful dial for the price and beautiful dome crystal. Love it. BUT this watch is not reliable. The case feel cheap. It often stop by itself. I have to knock a bit to make it move again. Now, it cant move at all. Good watch cosmetically yes, good watch no.
man that automatic mechanism is cool af
Sure is. And old!
I'm right handed but wear my watch on my right hand.
If the Orient's has got a day reading, I would want it. No day, no go for me.
Sb Sb Then you can go for Seiko, most models have day and date both.
Mark your shows are great thank you I’m courious who repairs a grey market watch a
Any watchmaker.
It was OK. What was the name of the third and fourth watch? First it was zeppelin , orient, marathon and? Names of watches should be highlighted in subtitles. Thank you. Awaiting a response
That Zeppelin is very nice!!!!
Is a shame, the orient has battery and mineral cristal.. I prefer automatic movement.. the Marathon is automatic and saphiro cristal but $3,970 usd of difference instead Orient model.
I'd like to see a budget option for the Sinn 104 St Sa
Long Island Watch - if the zeppelin says 50m water resistance, what's the reason that I can't take it swimming? It's definitely not going deeper than a single meter. I'm unfamiliar with water resistance as a rating in general, so if it doesn't mean 'it can resist water to this depth' then what's the designation for?
Check out Watch and Learn #5 and #6 please!
Where can I get the orient captain?
