Beautiful group of watches. It’s nice that you have your father’s watch. I have my father’s and grandfather’s watch and a great uncle’s pocket watch. They’re not Rolex but mean a lot to me just the same. Thanks for sharing Marc and have a great day!
Marc love the fact you don't service unless something wrong. I totally agree ❤ That daytona is crazy heavy. I love the blue yachtmaster. It's really nice.
Beautiful watch collection my friend. I do agree with you that Submariner as simple as it is doesn’t fly under the radar. For this reason for my son’s birth year watch I decided to get him a 36mm explorer. In my opinion 36mm is perfect first watch and he can wear it in any occasion.
Beautiful Prospex Spring Drive GMT! I have the GS 20th anniversary with the snowflake dial and never knew it did that. I’ll have to try it next time I give it some wrist time! An amazing collection of watches and the stories behind them add real flavor. Keep enjoying them and thanks for sharing!
I love your dad’s watch. Heirlooms are always top tier, regardless of manufacturer or monetary value. The Seiko was also a great watch, love that dial.
My very first Rolex back in 1994 was a Datejust with a gray tapestry dial, fluted bezel, white gold. Loved that watch, wish I had not sold it. So your Dads Datejust really hits home with me.
Nice collection considering the amount of pieces that you have access to I can appreciate your restraint it can be admired by all Thanks for sharing as always my friend Wheels Up My Friend and Be Well 👍
My favorite watch in my collection is a Seiko spring drive which is from their Presage line. It's a limited edition collaboration piece done with Studio Ghibli and from the animated film Porco Rosso. It's the SNR047 limited to 500 pcs. Incredible enamel dial adorned with Porco Rosso elements. Truly a cool piece. I also have it's companion piece which is a chronograph limited to 600 pcs. I feel fortunate to have both of these unique time pieces.
@@georgefotiadis3787 Thanks. I love watches that have a backstory. Even though Porco Rosso is an animated film it's still quite well done and a classic. If you have Netflix have a look. But most people think a Seiko for 5,000 bucks is a bit crazy! 😊
@@sunrisejak2709 I surely will have a look at the film ,5k for a seiko may seem a little bit too much but when you think of the movement, the limited production and the looks of these watches its totally worth it in my opinion, you sir made a great choice buying them.
I've commented before that the Seiko Spring Drive GMT is my favourite. I really like power reserve meters. I'm interested in what your cheapest watch is? I'm not talking about Islanders you've taken from your own supply, but actually bought. Have you got an F-91W? 😉
Great video! I absolutely love the Seiko GMT Spring Drive. I love Titanium watches and I love faded blue to black dials. I like how the dial though is the opposite of most blue to black dials.
Beautiful collection. Love the pre ceramic sub - what a sub should look like in my opinion and the date with cyclops is a must for me. And the UN MaxiMarine, the Romans with the blue dial are beautiful.
Incredible collection. For some reason so many of watch youtubers seem to enjoy bashing Rolex at every opportunity (perhaps it generates clicks as frustrated youngsters fume over not being able to actually buy one and pretend other brands are better) so it is great to see so many real heavy Rolex hitters. That Daytona was a surprise, was not expecting that! The way Rolex makes these watches to me is incredible.
Marc : nice to see your “high end “ watches. Interesting how tastes change over time. In 2003, my favorite watch was a Breitling Super Avenger at a ridiculous 48 mm. Now I wear my ISL watches much more often. Thanks
Now that I see it in this context, that blue dial Daytona is fantastic! Never really cared much for any Daytona... but that's just nice. Love the Yachtmaster with the blue dial as well. And I personally prefer the aluminum bezel subs.
When I got promoted last year I picked up an SNR049 from Japan as they were gone here in the US. It's a chonker of a watch height wise, but it definitely wears really well. I took mine off the bracelet and opted for a blue sail cloth for now. The dial is one of the best seiko dials I have in my collection and certainly the best AR coating. There have been times wearing it that I felt the crystal fell out of the watch. It's just amazing. Great collection, Mark.
I looked at some used Rolex watches once at a jewelry store. I was wearing my Engineer M Pioneer Ball watch at the time. I thought they were fake when I picked them up. They felt like cheap toys with the hollow end-links. It was illuminating and disappointing at the same time. It made me feel a lot better about getting the Ball for instead of one of them. I didn’t know until now that they used to make them like that. Crazy. Thanks for all of the information. I love the videos!❤
I never have thought of you as a rolex guy. You are a great guy, admire the long island watches effort. Started great for those of us that dont have skx (I am an idiot for not buying one as is was discounted)
Great collection! I'm not really a Rolex person but when you put your dad's Datejust on your wrist it just looked special. Perhaps I'm surrounded by too many divers or because it was a little smaller but the Datejust hit a little different. Your old man had some style. Thanks for sharing the collection!
That Seiko made me drool. I'm not a fan of Rolex, but thanks for sharing Mark. You are my favorite RUclips guy because you are so real and not into the hobby for he flex

So my mom worked for a big dollar non-profit when we lived in Dallas and a retired doctor that volunteered there had a Datejust or maybe a Day Date that was extremely similar to your father's watch. Definitely two tone and had the lines on the dial. That is literally the watch that got me interested in watches. I've never owned a Rolex but do own two Omegas and previously owned another. If i were to get one, 80% chance it would be an Explorer but probably a Datejust would be the better option. Great video. It felt quite personal.
Very nice set of watches! I have a soft spot for the old Datejusts cause my first expensive watch is a 1984 2tone model. Still have it too 😁 and very comfortable to wear.
Seeing your father's old Rolex, was definitely great to see. I have my father-in-laws old Omega Speedmaster Moon watch from the early '70's. I plan on giving it to my oldest son on his birthday.

Mark, will Islander watches have retailers in Europe? I would love to buy an Islander watch but my country's high tax rate and duties deter me from buying one.
I love the Seiko Spring Drive watch. The movement is amazing and keeps very accurate time. I love the sweep of the second hand go round and round. I wish I could afford one. This inflation has killed my buying power. I used to have a few Rolex watches, but this was before 911 happened, and in the DC area many banks would not lend money, so I lost job after job not getting fired but companies going under all over the place and I had to sell everyone but one off. I had a 1987 Datejust, an older Yachtmaster, but I kept the no date sub as it goes with everything and fits well on my small wrist. Back then I could just go to a dealer and buy them with a discount, and I think it was close to 20 percent off retail. Now they seem nearly impossible to get at MSRP, with no more discounts. They try to make you buy a bunch of junk first, and I suggest you leave the store and go elsewhere.
The Yacht Master 116622 is GORGEOUS in blue dial! To this very day I regret not buying one back in 2015 ... it was offered to me through a friend for $6k!!! and I passed thinking I'll get it later, yeah that "later" never came and now they go for $12K+ :(
Marc, nice collection. I know you have many more. Ironically, I'm wearing my Islander Republic (Pepsi) while I'm watching this. I consider this watch my most affordable luxury watch. Great job!
My favourite was the Yachtmaster 40. Rolex do get a lot of flak about hype, overprice and lack of movement finishing but they do make really good solid watches and this is a good example of that.
blue dials are my favorite too. ir seems like the vacheron constantine blue dial is the grail of blue dials but i actually like the blue on any of the casio oceanus watches. thanks for sharing. my fav from yours is the daytona of course
Great collection. Funny, my first "real" watch was my Dad's circa 1984 Rolex Date (smaller brother to the Datejust), two-toned with pale champagne dial, which was given to him by a dear friend and business associate, and my beloved UN Maximarine Chronometer (opaline dial with Arabic numerals) which my Wife convinced me to buy on our honeymoon in 2007. The UN has never been serviced, the Rolex was serviced once that I am aware of in 2001 and both run like fine Swiss watches! Great minds!
I guess everyone just assumes that seeing as you are a 'watch guy' and run a 'watch channel' you MUST have really high end watches in your personal collection, totally failing to see that it's NOT just a hobby for people who have vast amounts of money. OK, we all admit that an A Lange & Sohne is visually more interesting than a Seiko 5 watch, but it's NOT just about the price or perceived 'quality'. I have watches with a RRP of about £3K and watches that I've bought for £25 in my collection, and the one I wear the most was under £200! As always, thank YOU for posting an interesting and informative video.
Beautiful. My first Rolex after I graduated in 2003 was the Sub 16610. To me, the dimensions of it are perfect. Couldn't buy a modern Rolex Sub because to me, the Maxi Dial and the Lugs are too big to feel like a sub. Plus, no way a plane jane sub is worth 10k+ lol. People are getting hosed if they are paying over 10k for a modern day sub. Now my 2nd Rolex I bought was the 18k White Gold Daytona with Arabic Numbers black dial. I bought that in 2006/7 after my first deployment. It was such a killer watch. I felt that the weight was well balanced and it just fit like a glove on my wrist. I sold it in 2020 for 30k with box and papers. No regrets but its crazy how much that model gained value in about 2 decades.
I love that Mark doesn’t know and doesn’t care what a Sub goes for today. It’s refreshing to see a watch channel that just loves watches instead of the profit margins that watches can bring. You’re the man. That UN is something I’ve never seen before, I love it. That inverse cyclops is so bad@$$ and they nailed the execution. You’re the watch lover’s watch lover Mark.
Very nice higher end watches. Thanks for sharing. Curious, I thought maybe I saw you wear a different Seiko spring drive GMT at one point... The one with the half blue and half white gmt bezel?
I saw this video yesterday, and I can't get the Seiko out of my head. I woke up this morning and started reading about it, and just seen your other review on it. I've always wanted a Springdrive, but this Seiko ticks so many boxes for me (even though the Snowflake is drop-dead gorgeous, too). That gradient dial from blue to black looks like a gem. But, the only thing I have against Springdrive is the whole servicing deal. From what I've read, it's a bloody agony in the central bum-region and quite expensive, too. What's your thoughts, Mark? Also, thanks for all the great content you're putting out. I love that you get so up-close to the engineering end of it, and you are genuinely excited by talking about it. No wonder you're TGVs first choice for a good watch talk.
Was Rex forward thinking in having drilled lugs or what. It doesn't take anything away from a watch. Why don't more tool watches have them. Nice to see some of your collection.
Marc, I saw the Oisin podcast and liked it a lot. He can be full of himself but he was pretty down-to earth since you have no pretense - loved it! I didn’t think I wanted another Rolex, but your Yacht-Master has me re-thinking it. Ugh, here we go…
Beautiful collection ! And interesting coming from someone who lives and breathes all things watches. Price becomes irrelevant really...Given the choice, I'd have left the Daytona on the table and grabbed the Seiko :) That's stunning..... All the best...and thanks 👍
Marc, think about it- in 3 years, at 50 (for both of us)- will be a good time for a GS. That’s also how I am going to pass it with my wife. She won’t say no to a present for a momentous birthday 😉. That UN is NICE! The Seiko looks very toolish. Your father’s watch-respect! I imagine that it is your most valued watch.
The "cheapest" one appeals most to me, the Seiko looks stunning!
thank you! It's a looker
Your Dad’s watch is my FAVORITE! Love the vertical pattern on the dial and great memories!
ditto, thanks Nick!!!!

yikes!
Marc, I saw the Oisin podcast and liked it a lot. He can be full of himself but he was pretty down-to earth since you have no pretense - loved it! I didn’t think I wanted another Rolex, but your Yacht-Master has me re-thinking it. Ugh, here we go…
Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful collection Marc!
Thank you kindly
Beautiful collection ! And interesting coming from someone who lives and breathes all things watches.
Price becomes irrelevant really...Given the choice, I'd have left the Daytona on the table and grabbed the Seiko :) That's stunning.....
All the best...and thanks 👍
thanks so much!
I especially like the Seiko Spring Drive in what is almost a Marine Master case.
Dayummmm!! White Gold Daytona = insane!! 😍
NIce collection! If you ever plan on selling the Seiko, I call dibs. 😁
Thanks for sharing!
You bet!
the white gold Daytona is superb !!!!
👍🏻
Beautiful Watch Collection
“Hi this is Mock…” that accent whips my head around every time 😂 we don’t have many authentic Long Islanders down here in Texas.
Sure is, thanks for watching.
