    Hello.
    With regards to the variation of the movement’s accuracy, here is something I discovered.
    I have a 36 mm Rolex Datejust from 1973. I believe the power reserve is only 38 hrs.
    I found that if I left watch in the case for 24 hours , accuracy would be out at least by 10 seconds.
    Somewhere on RUclips, I found a video stating that when not wearing an auto movement leave your watch on it’s side crown down. Accuracy will improve. Immediately my BS meter went off, lol.
    I tried this on the Datejust. It worked ! When I put the watch back on, accuracy was now only several seconds fast.
    I tried this with another mechanical watch and same results. Just a fun thing to try on different movements.

    Great honest review thank you. Just for the record on a comment you made on the glidelock my Rolex pieces with the similar glide lock does not scuff or show any wear on the bracelet even after 14 months.. I do however have a fantastic dare I say it seadweller copy which also has the glidelock system and also marks/ scratches the bracelet

    If you are very active (I used to use my SKX with a strapcode bracelet in construction) it's worth putting some of the Loctite Blue threadlocker on the screws, as they'll unscrew periodically from motion. Cheers! Great review

      Worth mentioning too that the Blue Threadlock bottle is RED, and the Red Threadlock bottle is BLUE. Threadlock troll level 100.

    Loved your review. I just ordered mine!! In reviewing the Ginault Website, they do NOT use a Chinese movement. They looked at them but were not guaranteed the quality requirements and certain specs they wanted for the watch. That is when they decided to produce their own movement. The only part used that is not US Made are some of the springs, which they get from Switzerland. That is what is listed on their website. Ginault has opted to be mysterious about almost every aspect of their company so who know what the truth is.

    Although I really like this style of watch, I've stopped wearing metal band watches including my Rolex. I find they always seem to scratch very quickly. I have switched to the Casio GWG-1000-1A I know it's doesn't compare to this watch for its looks, but having a watch that you never have to worry about the battery, or if it's been wound up. The solar charging, and radio control Atomic clock, means its time keeping is accurate to the second. Great honest review, thanks. Still might get one.

      BCNEWSVIDEO thanks man! I know what you mean about the bracelet, I bought a Hamilton last year and hated the polished mid links getting scratched up so fast. This bracelet is better, but still showing age quickly. I've ordered a ColaReb leather strap and will do an update when it arrives.

    I can't trust a brand that gives discounts for reviewers, though I appreciate your honesty with some criticisms (thank you) their movement clearly does not meet COSC parameters. The main thing that put me off initially though is the claim that they're "hand made in America". EDIT: my bad they actually claim "hand built in America", which means "assembled" so the lack of info I can find as to where the movement and or parts are made turn me off. Please correct me though I'd like to be wrong.

    • @JustOneMoreWatch
      @JustOneMoreWatch  6 лет назад +1

      Mate, you are not wrong. Initially, I believe it said Made in America, but they got a rap on the knuckles. No more of a lie than Swiss Made though, if you see what I mean. The only label I truly believe in is Made in China. Cheers!

    I would visually like it better than my Steinhart because it's smaller, but here's the thing - I had mine go slow 6 seconds as well at the start and so I unscrewed it and fumbled a bit and now it's about a quarter second fast a day since two years. That unscrewing was easy as you don't have that Rolex rifling on the back, so that's what I like better on the Steinhart.
    This one's a real beauty, but 1200+ bucks regular ? I wish them luck, they might have to get some more fancy with the movement I guess, making it more into an in-house one...
    Anyway I'm shopping for a hommage of the Fifty Fathoms now ;)

    If you look at the 6 week log that comes with the watch you can see what position gains or loses seconds. Each is different. But mine Gaines a few seconds a day and when I lay it face down while not wearing it looses a few seconds so over all only gains about 1 second a day. If you’re wearing while you sleep then this won’t work, but definitely something to consider!! Thanks!

    I have had the same watch for a week and it's the best dive watch I have worn so far. I wish I had the Squale, MKII, Steinhart, Tudor and Submariner in front of me as well to compare it to. However, as far as a Rolex homage goes, I do not see what you are getting in a Rolex other than prestige and a very expensive theft target. Fit, finish, materials, lume, operating feel, attention to detail are all superb on the Ginault. Mine is loosing close to a second per day, so it's within COSC standards. There is no heritage factor in the Ginault, but the watch proves that an equal or better Rolex clone watch can be built and sold for a fraction of the price of the real thing.

    • @JustOneMoreWatch
      @JustOneMoreWatch  7 лет назад +2

      Hey Bert. Amazing watch isn't it?! I haven't taken mine off and have just sold my TAG Heuer which was my daily wear prior. Would I love a Rolex Submariner? For sure! Would I be comfortable spending $10K AUD and wearing that money on my wrist? No way.
      I have ordered a distressed leather ColaReb strap for the Aussie summer and will do another update when it arrives. Enjoy your watch.

    I have been looking at Rolex and tudor watches. This Ginualt looks like a good quality watch for a fraction of the cost. The Tudor Black Bay are running $3675.00 US dollars, the rolex no date sub is $7500. so $1200.00 looks good.

    Oh God, if you spent over $1000USD on a homage watch...it really has to be special across the board in terms of build quality and movement used. But $1299USD for a built in America, Chinese movement, micro-brand watch that has no history/heritage? Ouch. I'd still go with the Squale 1545 or Steinhart Ocean One - at least those have solid European built quality, very good Swiss movements and cost less than half of the Ginault without compromising much on the homage throwbacks. But hell, each to their own. Its your money. As long as you enjoy the watch without long term buyers remorse that's all it matters.

    • @JustOneMoreWatch
      @JustOneMoreWatch  6 лет назад

      Hey mate! I didn't pay retail for it, in fact I paid within $50 of a 1545. I have done an in-hand comparison, and there is no comparison. No remorse here! You really need to feel one of these to appreciate it. Cheers!

      Alexander Kimpe hello there. I have been into the sea with it and had no problems. I'm not much of a swimmer so it is unlikely to see any real depth though! Screw down crown works well so I would be confident of its depth rating. Cheers.

    Great update my friend though we'll have to agree to disagree with the comparison to the 1545. The Ginault is a quality Homage watch no doubt but as to that massive gap in quality you mentioned? Well, I have to heartily disagree. There's just NOT that big a gap between the two. Bracelet is only marginally better (though the clasp is better I'll give you that) but I prefer the bezel movement on my Squale. Plus the (Chinese?) movement in the Ginault is the unknown factor that worries me. I'll take the tried and true 2824-2 any day. We'll be having this debate again at work no doubt but I just don't see it. ANYWAY, great update again. Great to see the channel getting traction! :)

    • @JustOneMoreWatch
      @JustOneMoreWatch  7 лет назад

      I didn't mention you in the vid, but you have outed yourself in the comments! I knew this was coming, and yes, we will have to agree to disagree. Seems you are the only one who doesn't see the gulf between the Ginault and the Squale..... Totally agree regarding the movement, but in every way the Ginault far superior. To be continued!

      I outed myself?? hahahaha I was never trying to hide anything my good friend ;) But I did feel that your viewers needed to hear a voice that wasn't completely clouded my blind love for Ginault with it's mysterious origins... Ps. and you already KNOW the answer to your question! (;P) HAH!

    no its over priced Chinese knock off I don't mind that it's Chinese made its quality but not $1400 quality I'd rather buy a good swiss watch for that spend an extra $400 and get a omega seamaster or pay $200 get a good seiko

      Thanks, actually I have seen so much reviews on RUclips, but the fact that you came up with the Omega Pre Bond did the trick. I really enjoyed your reviews. And I think I can live with the 4-6 seconds a day. Of course I am used to zero seconds a year with the quartz watch, like you did. But I see also the quality of this Ginault. And a nice leather strap on it is nice as well, which is not possible on the Omega. I am gonna order tomorrow!
