I have over 50 watches incl Rolex, Omega, Zenith, Longines, Doxa etc. And a Ginault Ocean Rover 1. The Ginault is as well built as a genuine Rolex, despite all the hating against the brand.
This is exactly what I am talking about! Thank you for sharing your experience. The Ginault watches are so impressive and you can definitely see and feel the quality. I'm glad you love your Ginault as much as I do. Thanks for watching. -Jon
I have a early made ginault and handled a Rolex gmt and have to say the Rolex has a better finish on everything but it’s almost a lot more $$ I wear my ginault all the time and it’s a solid watch that is finished very well for it’s price point if that makes sense.
They need to cut the text down to 2 lines. Would make the dial so much cleaner. The flat sapphire, ceramic insert, and sword hands are all great touches 👍🏼
I’ve been searching for a quality watch for a long time and this watch has blown me away! Yes it rips off Rolex but that’s because Rolex is the most sought after watch with arguably the best design, bracelet and clasp in history. Everything about this watch looks perfect, and if Rolex released this as their new sub excluding the red second hand it’d probably be easier to get a Pepsi GMT! Not everyone can drop £7500 on a watch. When I receive this watch I’ll wear it with pride and knowing that I didn’t take out a loan to buy it will make it all the better. Great review btw.
Not to mention rolex being arguably the biggest rip-off watch company whom have been ripping people off for decades and are stil trying to increase their prices their greed knows no bounds!😡
The vids just keep getting better and better, man. Honestly. Such a beautiful watch. They’re really providing value with the chronometer accuracy and depth capabilities.
Great review man. I've had my OR II for a year now and it is on my wrist 95% of the time. What's significant about that is that my other two watches are a Tudor Black Bay Heritage and a Rolex Exp II 216570 (my grail watch.) Ginault has created a milsub "greatest hits" watch that makes me smile every day.
Thanks for sharing your video. You write and produce well made content. I've been happy getting my ORII and honestly it has made me second guess myself from getting a 5 digit submariner. Keep up the great, unbiased work!
Great review! The Ginault website seems to be kind of a mess. Any ideas on the best place to shop for and possibly purchase the no date, black ceramic with blue lume?
I’m fortunate enough to have any watch I desire honestly, but part of that is because I can’t justify the cost of a Rolex. Not saying the price is wrong, there are precious metals and lots of time being used to make them, but they are making major margins . I think I will purchase one of these Ginaults and I would never have known they existed unless RUclips was here. Made in America too, will be different than all my Swiss made ones
Nice review. I like it although I wish it didn’t have the spec sheet on the dial. What’s wrong with just the brand and model? I would prefer a slightly wider minute hand too. Cheers for the video!
@@AKhan.28 Adil, yes I ordered and paid deposit for OR2 no date watch in mid May and was told to expect delivery in July. Have not received it yet. Best to you.
Of course anyone who spent over a thousand dollars on a watch is going to have good things to say about it. I don't think anyone is arguing about the quality. Clearly they make an amazing product. It's the association with replicas and the secrecy around their manufacturing despite claiming "Made in America" that makes me wary about spending that much money on their brand. For that money I could buy an Oris which is not only an original design, but is from a company with real history and a real place in Switzerland where they make their product and is run by people whose names and faces are known. Some people may not care about that, and that's fine. Spend your money on what you feel is important. You earned it. But some of us do.
Yes you are absolutely right. I am crazy person and i kinda love the mystique and controversy of the watch, its sort of the forbidden fruit of the watch community. As long as the quality is there and the accuracy I don’t mind paying that much. For me Watch brands are the establishment and Ginault is the renegade. Just reiterate you are absolutely right, as a lower class citizen i respect a infamous underground replica maker trying to go legitimate whether the story is true or not.
Whether they used to replicas is less of a point when someone is actually trying to improve or change their ways, especially when you look at the quality they offer for the price and how they stand by their products. This pretty much highlights "cancel/outrage culture" as there is no longer room for redemption, especially for something so subjective. The "No History" argument people propose actually makes no logical sense seeing as "history" has to begin somewhere and "literally" takes time. Unless of course, brands like Oris, Steinhart and Rolex all also really came around about 5 years ago. If someone started something yesterday and happens to be exceptional at it, do you rebuke them because they have "No History"? I guess that argument only works in the absence of logic. It feels as if people are angry that someone who "reportedly" used to make replicas is now trying to be legitimate, and is so exceptional at doing it as well (almost like it undermines their justification for paying so much more for similar quality). If the history was so important and objective, then the market should speak for itself. From the incoherent clamor of these critics, it does not seem to be about the past, rather the undermining of their own manufactured or indoctrinated perspectives. It's almost as if they would rather this person go back to making replicas instead so that they can continue to have a reason to be angry. (FYI, Ginault has a good warranty and they stand by their product if anything happens to it). That's part of what people pay for and why the secondary market remains strong, not just "some history." Just ask Rolex and how nobody even wanted to wear them until Wilsdorf implemented some branding magic. I don't agree at all with Rolex's amoral, awful and disgraceful business practices or how they treat their customers, but it hasn't stopped me or these virtue and legal signalers (those supporting "amoral" or "unethical" acts because they are not "illegal") from purchasing a submariner. I admire how it looks, I like how it feels and they stand by their products. Ginault being "built in America" is as much as all the Swiss brands claiming to be "Made in Switzerland." Nothing is 100% created in the place they claim as they have "legal" and in this case, "moral" flexibility. Most of the Swiss brands and the components aren't even 80% manufactured in Switzerland which falls within the "legal" parameters for "Made in Switzerland." The "built/made in ..." part for all brands, Ginault included, probably means "assembled." I'm not sure how people expect any new company without "history" to succeed when history is not established overnight. From the opposing perspective, the one logical argument is the fact that Ginault has not done a good job of rectifying the slander or defamation to which they have been subject.
There is a false virtue in comments like these that just make me want to buy the Ginault that much more. It’s as if the mere act of buying one is a large middle finger to everything cancel culture represents.
