I own a '17 Outlander SE with the 2.4 and CVT.. I'm a mechanic and service it myself. Absolutely reliable. 42k miles with zero issues. Changed the CVT fluid at the 30k mile mark and oil changes every 3k. It runs top notch in any weather and the S-AWC is sufficient in winter.

We bought the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander because we had purchased one in 2005 and had the car for 12 years without a single major (or even minor) problem. We got a very good price on the 2017 and have had it for nearly 4 years with no (major) problems at all. We couldn't figure out how to use a few elements in the WiFi system but they showed us a few different ways to use the system and we haven't had any difficulty since (although aspects and items of the system are still not clear to us because we don't use them). I learn ways to make things run smoothly on the various systems (window wipers automatic), the headlights, etc., but often forget how to make the car perform these using the Mitsubishi system or function. Right now I re-learned how to keep the bright lights on continually, but the automatic function that turns off the use of the headlights must then be switched to, and closed manually. That is, the automatic headlights must - at the end of a trip - be shut off manually if you had used the the bright headlights function so that they stayed on when you clicked a particular spot on the steering wheel for lighting. Sorry, but I have not explained the problem very clearly with the bright headlights versus the normal headlights, on/off , with one spot controlling the normal headlights and one spot controlling the high beams. Maybe there is another approach to keeping the bright, high beams on consistently, without giving up the automatic function and switching to manual. At any rate, we have had no problem at all with the vehicle and it does handle very well, indeed! We use our own mechanics for maintenance (oil changes, tire rotation, etc.) and order parts if we need them either thru Mitsubishi or through the mechanics who either purchase Mitsubishi parts or after-market parts. The car seems very solid, and proved to be solid in a couple of minor scrapes, and one somewhat major accident in which our car had been hit, sideswiped, and the car that did the damage received much more damage than ours.

Hi. Many new cars don’t need temperature gauge. It’s all controlled by computers and if anything goes wrong a warning light will come on.
