Kirsten Dunst never really gets the appreciation that she deserves because of Mary Jane😂😂But even as Mary Jane and what she was given, she did amazing.
I mean, She was an actress before she played ... she was great in Interview with a Vampire, and she was a child then... and Mona Lisa smile... she's just never gotten enough credit tbh.
I had never held her acting in any esteem, but she completely changed my mind after this role. She exhibited "1960s white privilege" perfectly.
She was spectacular in "The Power of the Dog." Sometimes, I love being proven wrong.
@@RebeccaReigh817She was not great in Interview with the Vampire😮, she was mediocre at best. I skip all her parts.
@@Nailah_411 She was, what, 9 years old? ☺️. She got better.
What are people talking about?! The Toby spider man movies were the freakin best! It was filmed in the early 2000s lol. What did you expect? Great CGI and no cheesy acting? That is not correct 🤫
Yo minny be going on side missions
Nah bro that’s the cashier from Malcolm in the Middle
Yes. So much growth. Celia would be proud 🙃
That's Minny from The Help & Minny don't burn chicken !!!!
Minny making pies in space hahaha 🤣
She really said "eat my shit, imma do digits"
Dorothy Vaughan my absolute favorite. Not only did she advance herself but she took the opportunity to take 30 other women with her!
Wow, that's great 🎉
Mrs Vaughan refused to let anyone hold her back. She inspired her children and all the ladies in the West Computing Group to strive for something better for themselves and their families. Her life’s story is still inspiring all women to never give up.
Until I saw this film, I never realised that Nasa was so dependent on these very clever people... its a pity they never realised until almost too late... well done Ladies..😊😊
Right on
like all agency/company/hospital’s executive directors etc, so called leader on board are difficult with people who gives ideas, took their ideas/suggestions but do not give them credits or recognitions…….🤷♀️
@@Hairyman921not a " pity"....... A sad disgrace ........
What’s best about this movie it isn’t a fiction story made up by writers,THESE WOMEN WERE REAL!
Yes, the women were real, but their stories were HEAVILY altered in the movie from what really happened.
@@andrew_4747how do you know may I ask? I hope you’re not one of those people who can’t stand for others to have the light shining on them.
That was the beginning of Computer Networking.
My mother was a Computer Networking Engineer and she worked with computers when they looked just like that. She retired in 2018. She was a veritable genius.
I’m so glad this woman stood her ground and today and even yesterday we’ve had women astronauts . We have arrived 😁
Sorry, you've always have been there!
Adam lost his mind, " at last bone of my bone flesh of my flesh," Women!🎉
She prolly crashed the rocket
Amen🙏
We will come to regret this just like we have with every position we've made easier for women to be able to do it when a man could do it just fine before...
And now men and women are drifting apart from each other.
You intentionally and misleadingly cut all the context for this clip. That paper she got handed was a transfer order, not a promotion. It meant her department was being closed and everyone in it was fired. She refused the transfer until they agreed to not fire the department but just move all the staff
She ended up getting her supervisor promotion and was able to bring her teams of 30 or more ladies with her. She even had some whiteys assigned to work under her. But those are not the clips that are in this short
After she made sure her whole group understood the programming language for the IBM. Also she pinched a book from the white library so she could learn the programming language. I think it was Fortran.
It was a promotion for her but she didn't accept it because the other women were not getting the same position, due to that the other ladies were promoted as well and that department was closed, so your comment is incorrect
Also the assumption of the short leads to the correct conclusion in the movie, so...
@@TellURide447”some whiteys”- America has really gotta grow up and mature. The fact you guys are so consistently obsess with race, but only black and white as far as I can tell, on both sides is so weird and regressive. You still had segregation until basically the 1970’s, you celebrate the day you “freed the slaves”- though you neglect to mention you didn’t bother to tell them for two years but even without that, the fact you even celebrate that, and you’re STILL always fighting about racism. Every single day you guys are fighting about racism. American blacks are obsessed with it and American whites are obsessed with it. You’d think you’d come together and be concentrating on your mess of a country instead but no, better fight about racism, sexism and gay/trans issues, better create issues to make America worse instead of fixing it. The entire LGBTQ crisis you’re facing right now is literally a direct consequence of your degenerate ideals, you were told over and over and over that inserting sex into every aspect of your culture as well as downplay the seriousness of sex with commitment instead of sleeping around with multiple partners, blowing up the nuclear family- your divorce rights are over 50% and your marriage rates are in the toilet while the percentage of single parent home, having multiple children with multiple different people, men not getting married have all gone up along with pushing same sex marriages and same sex relations in all your media would eventual turn you guys into a bunch of degenerates- which it has. They even warned you that it would lead to a gender crisis- which you’re seeing now. And your rates of mental illness, autism, and other intellectual disabilities have all gone up. Just think about this: Every other person in claims to either have one of these things or a mixture of things;
A) autism, B) mental illness, C) being part of the LBGTQ and every single one of these things is supposed to have a very low percentage of happening yet you have every other person claiming one of these- that’s not good. 50% of your population shouldn’t have these things. 50% of an entire generation should be gay/trans considering both of these things are supposed to an ANOMLY, not the norm. Not because out society but biology.
I could just go on and on but man, what a complete waste of people. Fat, stupid, and crazy. And you’re #1 in all three categories 😂😂😂
This was a movie worth making, and seeing.
The opening sequence when the parents moved so their daughter could get the education her talents deserved...
That part is true.
Octavia Spencer is such a good actress
YESSSS
I will watch a show just because she is in it.
Good? Nah she's great
Octavia is the best in the business💞💯
Octavia Spencer and Viola Davis, two lovely and talented actresses.
This is one of the most American movies of all times.
One of the greatest engineers and minds to ever work at NASA.
What movie is this?
'Hidden Figures' is the name of the film @@Ilovepointlessstorys
Finally! Black women get the recognition they
deserve.
Lots of white women don't get the recognition they deserve either.
Love Octavia Spencer she's a great actress ,
The way the white lady, Kirsten Dunst, said, "that's NASA for you", you can tell she is also tired of their shit. She may be white, but she also wasn't immune to their sexism or harassment.
Sister, for the love of god, it’s a movie
That's an interesting take. I didn't get that from the scene only because to me she came off as indifferent and didn't want to go beyond to suggest or ask questions. It could be for the reasons you explained. But I also didn't see any silent efforts to suggest or put Dorothy in the right place. It was by total accident that she got noticed simply for being her talented self and unafraid to find a solution for malfunctioning equipment. Interesting though.
I didn’t get that vibe at all when watching the whole movie. It was more like she was making some vague “it is what it is” statement so she could shrug it off because it wasn’t a problem that effected her (the problem in the clip, I mean)
I did not feel it at all. I heard a white lady saying what she said in a condescending manner. And I’m white. She was not being nice or sincere
Y'all are so weird oh my god
My dad had the pleasure of meeting this lady He said Mrs.Dorithy was a very nice person and exceptionally good with numbers
How cool that your dad got to meet this amazing woman.
I love how she rallies all the ladies together to learn those big machines and how to program them and then when the men think they're totally screwed the latest swoop in and save the day. They know how to program these machines and run them they get their job secured and big promotions which they so richly deserve
Saw the movie years ago. Based on a true story.. Absolutely brilliant 👏
Actually among the 3 story tracks of this movie, I somehow liked this more. The part where she trains herself and her team for future opportunity was great leadership!!
One of the greatest movies showing the role black women had in nasa putting a man n the moon and return history is being shown here in this movie thank you
This is a story that should have been public knowledge from day one.
Kristen Dunst's performance is shocking how hard she portrays the character. When our experience with her is so soft and sweet. A small part that she does so much with. ❤ A truly beautiful film and study in racism as well as discrimination against women. And we can see in one line just how bitter she is for not advancing. Jim Parsons was incredible with his part as well. ❤
Never underestimate any one ability ,I knew a young man whose intelligence, without an education, knew more than the engineers,he was self-taught.. And another who ran the computer within four where the job was for eight hours, never say no it can't be done.
This was an awesome movie. It was powerful. The lives of these three women were astonishing to know it was a true story. What's hidden in the dark comes out to the light. ❤❤❤❤
I’m glad she got a chance to show her merit. Both ladies killed these roles
Movie name "Hidden Figures". Its a great watch!!
I love her resilience ❤❤❤❤
The bravest bunch of gals,,,,,, unseen hero's of today's world ,was led by these women,,,
Hidden figures is a great movie
Women are good at everything that they do if you just give them a chance .😊❤
She's so good, love that actress
They always underestimate us and we always do better than them when on the same ground
Thats how make you change. When the world tries to push you and others down you dont let it keep you down. These women faced discrimination, unfair standards and practices and they knew it too but they also knew that despite what others might think, they are the best of the best and showed it over and over again, resulting in not only change in their lives but change in countless others.
I wish they didnt have to, i wish we lived in a world where someones skill and knowledge let them be who they are meant to be sadly we dont, but if we hold women like the ones in this movie as role models, not as symbols or a icons for change, but as role models of it then maybe we can get to that world

An amazing group of women.
She can act whatever role she wants to until she dies whenever I see her all I see is " miss Minnie don't burn chicken"

What a small minded thing to say..
I agree that she was awesome in that role but not forever fastened to it.
Such a wonderful actress ❤
That s*** still goes on today. I'm at a job right now. Just this morning I made this company $4,000 in 2 seconds. Sitting on my behind on my phone. My personal phone but yet they refuse to give me my wage increase after 11 years

I loved the interview with a vampire...but the Fargo series was excellent..she's always great in movies ❤

Merit based advancement. Excellent
The way the men just wanted to guard access from a woman even though they didn't know how to get it to work.
We ARE NOT GOOD, WE ARE GREAT!
She made herself invaluable to the system by learning how to work with it. Thats how you make yourself unfirable.
I have not seen this movie but I love the tidbits of the women trying to get their foot in the door.. just to be able to slam in some good old boys face😂
Hidden figures
Octavia is a Blessing! Gods Blessings to all.
She wasn't ever laughed at. She was ignored and dismissed, though. Kirsten's character was rude in that movie.
I love the end with the Kristen Dunst character finally calls Dorothy “Mrs. Vaughn.”
Competence has a quality all its own. We can never have enough of it.
Today, Dorothy Vaughn would be a billionaire with her programming skills.
Dorothy Jean Johnson Vaughan was an American mathematician and human computer who worked for NASA and the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics. She was an expert in digital computers and their applications in NASA programs. Her career began during World War II and continued through the Space Age. Vaughan was the first African-American to receive a promotion at NASA. She also advocated for women regardless of their race, pushing for pay raises and promotions.
The more things change, the more things stay the same
They have been treating Us as inferior since slavery ended and We are supposed to forget that and move on, because to speak on it(The truth) makes "THEM" uncomfortable about their ancestors and Family that they will have to admit took place
Yup. It's always "JuSt GeT OvEr It" as if they don't keep obvious reminders of their history on display and actually REQUIRE it be acknowledged as a part of a basic systematic education. That same systematic educational book says our history began in slavery which is false.
I love to see a smart strong independent woman of color. She is so very brave for all the women 💯❤️🙏
As a person, Kristen Dunst doesn't strike me as the prejudiced type, that's why in my view her performance in Hidden Figures is testament to her remarkable acting skills. Her opposite here. Octavia Spencer, is equally brilliant. In any case, this great movie has an overall superb cast. Thank you for posting.
Not hiring the most qualified people must have been why the Russians were kicking our ass in the space race.

I love this movie the ladies really show the men their high intelligence
NASA named a building after her
That’s the same lady that plays i think Minnie from The Help movie🤔
Correct. Octavia Spencer.
Kirsten Dunsts accent here is amazing
All these clips rolling through my feed have succeeded. I got the message. Gotta rewatch “The Help”, and watch “Hidden Figures” when I get a little me time to watch a couple movies. I gotta hit up the reboot of “The Color Purple” as well, but I might be biased with preferring the original. I may be white, but movies that relay Black excellence, strength, and resilience really gets me in my feels and gives me feelings of pride and hope, especially when karma hits its mark on the nasty soulless, hateful, cruel assholes that plant themselves as roadblocks in people’s lives due to their own mediocrity and miserable existence. I love to witness my melanin rich brothers and sisters rise!!!
Just bought this movie 2 days ago. Why don't they teach kids this in American schools?!?!?! This is one of many reasons why my babies are homeschooled. Truth matters.
Controlling information is a powerful strategy. If you keep the people dumb they won’t fight against you.
What's the movie name?
Hidden figures (2016)
True history is not spoke about. There is a government agenda. You can ask 100 people who the first president of the USA WAS 99 will tell you George Washington. He was not tho. It was John Hanson. A black man. Weird. Not told in history Right. 🤦🏻♂️
It depends on where you live and if you have black teachers teaching. Unfortunately, many of the teachers who teach history are white and are not familiar with OUR history. This is why it's important for 1, parents to teach their kids and 2 for black studies or history courses be taught in high schools. Other that that our kids don't get it until college and only if they seek to take the classes. Please vote on any issues affecting education or attend school board meetings. Not enough of our community gets involved and leaves education of children up to the school. WHO DO YOU THINK MAKES THOSE DECISIONS THAT AFTER CHILDREN OF COLOR?

Thing to remember about NASA in that time period was that they really WERE NOT any less racist or sexist than the rest of the country. What they were was under tremendous pressure to succeed. Told again and again that the fair of the nation has fallen to them.
Because of this pressure to get the job done right and FAST (!) they had to use only the best people.
The smartest
The dedicated
Bingo!
True!
This needs to be taught in all schools
Kirsten Dunst playing snobby white woman always amazes me because I’m like…no way that’s Kirsten Dunst making me feel the most angry I’ve felt at a character😂
And one Deadvin Samuels wanted ( yeah , past tense) young girls to go off and get married while they are still "hotties" , forsaken a profession and submitting to your husband
What I like is that pretty much, even in this very short scene with just four characters... three of them are shown to have multi-dimensional depth. (the background guy didn't get a chance)
I didn’t recognize Kirsten! Wow how she aged A LOT! No offense but she’s still my fave actor fr way back Romeo and Juliet and her other films! That’s why I thought she looks familiar! She’s a really good actor! Both of them🎉
