@@joshleathers1631 it does but I didn't like the way the seat bottom stuck up. It was uncomfortable for my head and neck. I just found taking the seat out was best for me. I'm mostly the only person in my car so I leave the bed in, all the time. 😁
Love your video so much that I cannot say it is the best one so far. My car is the same style as yours. Look forward to seeing more videos of yours. Thanks
I made my 2019 Focus a rolling bed also, not yet went camping but planning to. I removed the whole rear seats and it gives plenty of space. I can flip up the trunk cover 45 degrees up to work as the perfect rear window blockage. Always appreciate videos like this to get new ideas to improve
Instead of dismantling the seat , they're usually on a hinge that folds way forward. Just reach under the back of the seats , pull up and that should do the trick !
Ryan, yes you can do that. I did that in the beginning but found that if I remove the seats, it's way more comfortable for me. I liked having a flat surface. 😁
On my focus MK1 xD i remove too but its bad idea for me because can opening this, first step:push to forward front chair and close down, second step:open back sofa without remove sofa, and need to 100cmx50cmx1cm desk for flat surface xD sorry for my little eng hehehe
I'm very surprised your rear bottom seat doesn't fold forward like mine? I slide my seats fully forward, flip my back seat bottom up against the front seats, then fold down the back seats to lay flat. My son is six foot tall and he and another person can fit in front to back and side by side. With a foam mattress that rolls up. Easy peezy.
My seats will do the same. It just wasn't as comfortable for myself. My set up allows me to keep my bed and all belongs in place, so I could literally just jump up in the driver's seat and leave. No readjusting the seat cushion part of the driver's seat. I only lean the seat forward. Does that make sense? That's the best way I know how to explain it.
Thanks for watching. I will be making some videos of each area of my car. Hopefully someone will be able to use my ideas and even improve them. Everything has a purpose. Happy camping
I"ve been thinking about this for mine. Trace and cut some black coroplast panels to block out the rear windows, and drape a sheet over the front headrests for privacy.
You know you dont have to take the bottom seat off,, in the ford focus you can just stick your hand through the back of the bottom seat and pull hard up .... the bottom seat opens up like a door and you can just lay the seats down flat .
I did try that but the seat was sticking up too high for me and it was easier for me to put stuff under the headrest without the bottom part of the seat there.
My seats flip up too. But then I can't utilize the space on the floor and there is a bump where my pillow goes. Even with all my bed padding, it's still not comfortable to me. I leave my bed in most of the time. Even when I'm working. It's a great place to take a break. 😁

Thank you for show us how to remove the seat. No fancy recording gadgets required - what you did was great!
This is truly the most well organized and minimal but sufficient set up I have ever seen and I 've watched hundreds of videos.
I have a focus as well and have been looking everywhere for ideas on how to camp in it. The idea of removing the seat bases is a good tip. Thanks.
You're welcome 😊
Do your back seats(the butt part) not fold up. Mine do in my 2018 SEL. Then the back rest folds flat.

Omg turning the headrest around is genius!!! Love it.

Thank you. Have fun camping 😁
you solved my issue of the back seats not laying flat enough, thank you! Great video
I love the idea of taking off the seats, i've been looking for a video just like this, thank you so much!!!
Yes. It was very helpful. Thank you & God bless
You did so well with one hand in video. Imagine 2 hands Very well put together. Hope you make more. Cheers from Sydney. Australia. Al
Thank you. I've actually fixed up my minivan as well. I still use my car but mostly the van now. 😁
There is no doing it wrong! We all do, undo, redo by what works for us! I like how you turned the seat headrests backwards! Great idea.
Thanks for the walkthrough. Didn’t notice it was so easy to remove the seat to make it flat.
Clever uses of the extra pillow sham and the cargo cover!
Thank you for showing how back seats come out and the head rest can be readjusted
Glad it helped
My apologies to you. You were right. Removing the rear seats made more head room.

Great video, and nice setup. That bed looks comfy!
I would love to have a thicker pad but overall, I can't complain 😄
That car set removal tip is great! Thank you. I gotta see if I can fit my 6'2" frame into that space, though :) I appreciate the tips and tricks.
Great video, thanks for sharing 👍🏻. I’ve got a Ford Focus estate that I’ll be converting in a camper.😀
Thanks so much for sharing your amazing car camper, you have given me lots of ideas as I’m in the process of turning my car into a camper 😀
Thank you. You will have so much fun

Wow what a great set up!
Loved this video, thank you 💕
awesome set up, I love how simple it is, easy for anyone to do : )
Great setup and ideas :)
Genius to turn your head rest around to take care of the gap!
You did a great job 😊
.....happy camping..... 💜.......you earned it......🙋♀️✝☕
Thank you 😁
I enjoyed your video, great job.

Would it give more room inside to remove all seats ? Or is there a ledge for the seat?
I love Goodwill as well. Most all I have comes from there. Nice video. I'm hoping to try doing this in my fiat(4door)
When you can make it your own, you will absolutely love it and the freedom
These are great tips!
Nice video. Hoping you'll make a video about your awning.
Thanks for watching. I will be making some videos of each area of my car. Hopefully someone will be able to use my ideas and even improve them. Everything has a purpose. Happy camping

Whatever ways you can make it work. Good luck to you.
Tip using a shapa blanket to keep warm in your car at night
Shapa or sherpa?
Very interesting!
Brilliant idea. Love your video.
What year and model of focus is it?
2017 SEL
I have this car. The bottom part of the back seat folds forward. Then you can fold the back seats flat.
Awesome stuff. Can I ask what awning you purchased for your car. Love your set up. Thank you for sharing.
It's actually a beach sunshade without a bottom. I used suction cups to fasten it to the car. Everything else I tried at the time wouldn't work
I use a tarp w poles for awning. Please video yours. Where do u live. U have balls girl. U should be very proud of yourself
Thank you very much. I hope to be able to do a few more videos soon. The rain slowed me down a little.
What year is your focus, mine is a 2010 sedan and i wander if i can do the same thing, thanks for the look ahead
Sorry I've been a way for a while. It's a 2017
@@pawsativepaws I don't know if my back seat will fold down flat, I'm inclined to think it won't?
you would have to check your manual or maybe look on RUclips for your specific model. Mine was a hatchback. Sorry I couldn’t help you more.
@@tryingtounfocus oh no problem sweetie
Great video. Do you have the front seats pushed all the way forward for sleeping?. I am sure at 5'10". I could lay out in the focus :-)
I do not. I'm 5'6 and I just lean the back rest of the seat forward. It's a perfect angle for my pillow and it doesn't fall down behind the seat.
10x 4 sharing. stay safe
Looks like a doer. I will have to give it a try.
I can help you set up if you want
I camp in my Malibu! We should go camping together.
That would be great
great video! :)
Thank you so much
Hi what type of tool did u use to remove the seats please?
I used a socket wrench, extender and T40 star bit. It won't let me post a picture to show you. I do describe it in the video. Sorry

How do u keep from running ur battery down if u have ur doors open for very long
Honestly, I try not to have the doors open to much due to bugs and mosquitoes 🤭
my height is 190 cm. do you think this car can sleep?
I'm only 167 cm. You could do it but only on your side 😐
Swear the lower half of seats fold up.. they do on my focus then the back seats fold flat
My seats flip up too. But then I can't utilize the space on the floor and there is a bump where my pillow goes. Even with all my bed padding, it's still not comfortable to me. I leave my bed in most of the time. Even when I'm working. It's a great place to take a break. 😁
That makes sense I have the estate with a roof box so I have plenty of space for my camping adventures
The seats fold flat…
