Wow. I stumbled upon this exact peg yesterday on the free stretch and caught my first ever barbel in cold and clear sky conditions. It seems most anglers don't want to walk that far past church deeps!
I used to fish the Ribble regular 15 years ago the only free stretch I knew was Church Deeps and day ticket behind the Tickled Trout the rest as a PA ticket has this changed much as think of giving it a go again
Really enjoyed this vid so much! many thanks. that Irish accent reminds me of friends I haven't seen for too long, and the positive attitude in the rainy conditions, brilliant filming, and perseverance to catch is just great and inspiring to see when I feel like staying in and not getting out fishing as the forecast is shite. all the best to you, mate, thanks again! ;-)
Another cracking film Ian. Quality filming and great content. It’s great seeing the countryside around our rivers isn’t it. Thanks for the time and effort you put in to film your trips mate. I love watching them. Tight lines and Happy Days 👍
Thank you Jamie! I really appreciate your support! Loads more videos on the way mate! Much appreciated to get lovely comments like yours makes it all worthwhile
Top video mate but where is the second place you went to please and how much is day ticket iv fished the village front before and loved it although Iv always blanked
Excellent video, Ian. It popped up on my feed, nor sure how I missed it before, it was more than a year ago. I love Ribchester. I recently discovered Dinckley Bridge area for myself too, it's great there by the river.
Thanks Olga! I too love Dinckley, amazing when it’s not full of people in summer. It angers me to see the mess the people leave behind when they have bbq and picnics there. You can walk a good circuit from Ribchester bridge to dinckley and cross the bridge into mares wood and back to Ribchester bridge. Beautiful scenery
Just a thought Ian.....have you ever sent a short video, into Springwatch, or Countryfile. They sometimes feature films, sent in by guest presenters. I think you would be great presenting on tele. You explain things well and your enthusiasm shines thru.....people would like you, im sure.
Next time try 200 yards up river ,the short pool on the bend,,best pool on the river,,also try a couple of big lob worms bounced along the bottom salmon style for the big big barble..pools normally stuffed .
Brilliant video👍please could u tell me how to get to the free stretch of the ribble if I come off at the tickle trout junction. Thinking of trying it at the weekend. Tight lines darren
Darren Hewitt from tickled trout junction 31, you will see a bridge a59 , cross bridge, park on bridge and look downstream, this is the free stretch, there is a cycle path, you have good access here. Walk downstream and there you will have loads of areas to try. Tight lines pal
Darren Hewitt keep walking downstream and eventually you will come to the peg I fished in the video, I love it however it fishes very good on a falling river. Definitely needs more water run it but that’s coming Saturday so will be good by mid week
Hi Ian superb videos.please could u give me some areas and pegs to fish on the free stretch on the ribble as I am going in the morning without walking to far im fishing till dark.thanks darren.
Without a shadow of a doubt, get yourself on the RADAC or PRINCE ALBERT ANGLING SOCIETY cards. Notable day tickets are Ribchester village front and woodcutters stretch just above ribchester road bridge.
@@darrenhewitt4709 all depends on volume of water on that peg, lowest is far bank, little bit on is 3/4, half way across at 1.5 meters on at samlesbury. Under the rod if in flood that’s anything over 1.75 on. Experiment as fish often move looking for food. Don’t ignore close in
Hi Ian, me and a pal are looking at fishing the Ribble either this weekend or next (weather permitting). What stretch would you recommend for decent chub and where would I get my day ticket from?
Hi.love all your videos.im going on free stretch on ribble tomorrow.do u know if any of the early pegs are worth a chuck and which ones should I look for.love the ribble.
Anything upstream of the old shares arms pub is the place to be this time of the year! Not suffered as much as the club stretches with otters due to more human activity. Good luck!
given you have not posted any vids for a while i hope your ok . leave a comment to let us all know please as i am sure i am not the only one wondering how and where your at .
I am doing very well Michael thanks for asking. Covid has had a big effect on being able to fish and I stuck to the rules for the whole period. I have posted a couple of videos in the last few months and now we seem to be exiting the pandemic, videos are going to be rolling out. Tight lines mate. Thanks for the support
