Hi Edgar, this is a great showcase of Whitney "The Voice" Houston's powerfully refined and connected singing range! Just a bit of an advice, I know you might had some differences with the Legendary Vocalists' channel, but would you mind checking out his video of "Barbra's Magnificent Lower Register and Effortless Upper Belts" before you decide to update your Barbra video? I think that video proves that Barbra did in fact have a fairly consistent range (in modal voice) from F3 - E5/F5 at her peak, and the examples there greatly showcase Barbra's superb breath support and the colorful texture of her voice. :)
Love it. I know this is funny but have you considered making resonance range (optimal and unoptimal) for vocalists? Pedro jorge Pedro jorge okay well i see you think you’re a vocal expert from watching a few performances on RUclips. 1) Whitney does not have resonance above F#5, while she retain some tonal quality & her support is questionable at times but her vibrato makes it seem like she is always supporting even when she’s not. 2) Whitney is a soprano & using a chesty mix above Eb5 & that’s can be harmful to a soprano voice. 3) Mariah strained in her debut, 1994-1996, she was FAR superior to Whitney in upper belts because she had a lot more resonance & a lot more ease as well as used a healthier mix. 3) Whitney uses a larynx vibrato, she moves her larynx up & down in prefer to create her vibrato & on top of that used her jaw as a dramatic affect which can add unnecessary jaw tension when singing. 4) Whitney lower register was horrible, her Lowe register is inaudible without a microphone compare to Mariah’s & while Mariah’s wasn’t much better it was superior to Whitney’s lower register. 5) Whitney does NOT have more resonance than Mariah. Mariah has more resonance than Whitney in the upper register. 6) Mariah has more agility, resonance, better upper belts than. Beyoncé & Whitney. Thank you 😬
I mean, you can't really prevent your larynx from lowering as you go low. That's just how vocal anatomy works. Unless you are lowering your larynx so much that you can't resonate properly, then that's alright.
@@graysang5386 Those were full chest belts not mix, Whitney rarely mixed. You can hear as she ascends the sound and quality remain the same from G4-G5.
She really had a great talent, unmatchable. I think she could go lower, she hits a Eb3 performing I look to You in Milan in 2010. She also hits a G6 in Brunei in 1996. I know this is not her best, but still sounds great!

F3 - F5 - C#6 Her F#5 and G5’s were too tight. Some were free, but not supported. Unless she has some good F#5/G5’s not listed in this video (which is completely possible). The C#6 here was just free/relaxed, but I do believe she has a supported C#6.
@ mesmereized G5 she wasn’t consistent on. F#5 she was her top end consistent belt. m.ruclips.net/video/PUTCV7xXZz0/видео.html&pp=ygULd2hpdG5leSBmIzU%3D
Wow whiney in her Prime could support a G5 I wonder if Aretha could... I'm certain Patti Labelle and Natalie Cole can too but few female singers can support that high.
Aretha/ patti and Natalir are high belters and used a heady mix, yes they can. the strangeness of Whitney is that she preferred a Chest dominat mix and she could still carry that high to a g5! I have not heard anyone that can quite do that!
Trần Khương Văn That's not true. Many of her notes above D5 are resonant and supported. How it's shrill when you still hear the ring in her voice? Don't you hear that ring on that Eb5 at 9:04? That's her best Eb5 ever and it's beautiful. What about her big Eb5s in A Quiet Place? It's beautiful and resonant. If this is a vocal freedom range video then how can anyone say that notes above D5 are shrill? All of her notes are still free while maintaining a M1 coordination all the way up high.
ThePianoguy89 i didnt say those are not supported, but below Eb5 is where she shines the most, specially G4 - D5, above it, her chesty mixing technique sometimes made her belts sound like that.
Trần Khương Văn When you say shrill it's kinda saying that it lacks vocal freedom. Her belts above Eb5 aren't shrill. Shrill is thin and harsh. Her belts aren't harsh, they're just very powerful due to the coordination she uses. Whitney has a large column of sound due to how developed her chest voice is. Her voice is creamy and it stays homogeneous to the very top of her range. Only time she sounds shrill is when she pushes. Her Eb5s, E5s, F5s, and higher are just as smooth as her C5s, C#5s, and D5s.

Also,Beyonce has a superior volume control, lower register & head voice.
Thank you.:)
*Mariah was much more resonant in upper belts than Whitney*
The little bird next to the Spinto? Whitney's resonance in the upper register is superior.
- ruclips.net/video/MZlNXH8KN3o/видео.html
??? And you can not have superior resonance when you drop support!
Thank you 😬
I wouldn’t say her F3/F#3 are consistently supported. G3 is where she’s more comfortable and support easily without lowering her larynx.
True
I mean, you can't really prevent your larynx from lowering as you go low. That's just how vocal anatomy works. Unless you are lowering your larynx so much that you can't resonate properly, then that's alright.
Such a soprano
Whitney is the real queen of F#5 not Mariah Carey whose Stan claimed her to be.
Whitney já chegou em sua nota mais alta que foi F7 .
pls link the performance i been waiting to find itt

wow a g5 in full chest i am done !! that s so hard to do
All notes in 5th octave aren't full chest, they are mixed. It's just her mix is chest dominant.
@@graysang5386 in real her mixed voice it's balanced/chesty balanced.
@@lipro9575 i agree, but she's leaning more on chesty balanced though.
@@graysang5386 Those were full chest belts not mix, Whitney rarely mixed. You can hear as she ascends the sound and quality remain the same from G4-G5.
@@graysang5386 Whitney doesnt mix
9:19 and 9:21 showed a significant decline in the way she belted E flats.
How. Please explain

She really had a great talent, unmatchable. I think she could go lower, she hits a Eb3 performing I look to You in Milan in 2010. She also hits a G6 in Brunei in 1996. I know this is not her best, but still sounds great!
@Stargate Messiah Yes I saw that interview!!!
in I Wanna Dance With Somebody, in Brunei, she hits a A6-G♯6's
@@henriquecordeiro2891 A6 is higher than G6
G5 é muito forte
7:30 idk about this note
tbh, same with most of the low notes in the F3-G3 era
Incredible. Also incredible to realize Prince could reach a B6. 😮
Can you make ailee supported range at her best?
dario sassaroli G3 - G5 - C6, in short.
@@SuperPianogirl123 wow, she can support G5????
Gray sings She did once. Consistently she has E5/F5.
@@SuperPianogirl123 Still incredible. Probably, mix and pushing are only her main issues. I'm getting interested on her
SuperPianogirl123 The C6 is from ruclips.net/video/oPRc11pYCqg/видео.html And doesn’t she have few F#3s too?
the e5 at 9:38 😦😦
Its the ease and power for me.
God, please take shitty vocalists like Taylor Swift and bring us back Whitney.
I miss her so much!!!
What a talented girl god sent to the earth...
I like Whitney Very much but Tay is not talentless -____-
Christian Jaramillo rather please take away Selena Gomez!
Christian Jaramillo dumbass, Taylor isn't even a vocalist and of course Whitney is miles away
Christian Jaramillo why are you wishing death on someone else?
Taylor is a master lyricist!
I like her Bb5
Bb4 is so dreamy

Not to take away from her but a lot of her 1986 concert audios were pitched up

When They said Mariah had supported note up to G5 and Whitney's up to E5 and Celine's up to Eb5
Me: ??!!!???!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!???!
This is how it goes accurately:
Whitney - G3-F5/F#5-C6 (F3-G5-C#6)
Mariah - F#3-F5/F#5-G#5 (D3-G5-Bb5)
Celine - E3/F3-Eb5-A5 (Eb3-F#5-C#6)
@ohhh hhh lol she only had one live resonant G5 in her entire repertoire. (this is coming from a lamb btw)

it's from Don't Cry For Me :P
It’s from a charity event for AIDS in 1994. Hey does some of the notes seem off to u? Like not Whitney. Like the labeling of the notes. Some are a lil inconsistent
Jymmi Rachael 8:14 sounds like an Eb5
Fine vocalist
Soprano
yesssss
Spinto Soprano
F3-G5-C#6 is her supported range at best.
F3 - F5 - C#6
Her F#5 and G5’s were too tight. Some were free, but not supported. Unless she has some good F#5/G5’s not listed in this video (which is completely possible). The C#6 here was just free/relaxed, but I do believe she has a supported C#6.
I think she was consistent with F#3/G3 - Eb5 - B5
@ mesmereized
G5 she wasn’t consistent on.

Johnny Cuff
she can support G5 with even a chesty mix, few singers can do this
Johnny Cuff of course Aretha can do it.... Aretha is the Queen of G5
aretha and patti actually did in their primes
aretha and patti sound thin
What is the song at 9:55 please?
Thanks in advance.

Does this mean you'll redo Beyoncé, Mariah, Kelly Clarkson, Lady Gaga, Barbra Streisand and Christina Aguilera's supported vocal range?
I think so!
Edgar Cárdenas okay, I'm excited for the Beyoncé one! Btw could you do one for Natalie Weiss?
Edgar Cárdenas add some of Beyoncé's Coachella performance notes

Consistency around F#3/G3 - F5/F#5 - Bb5/B5? Not sure.
JustSomeoneDifferent more like F3-F#5-B5
I would say consistency on G3-F#5/G5-B5/C6 at best.
The one at 15:17 is an A5
its only one note😭
I thought she can support lower than F3? Is she consistent above F5?
she has supported Eb3 lots of times.. please stop!
Erick Freiria but above D5, her belts sound more shrill and less beautiful than below D5.
F3 - G5 - C6/C#6
Mợ Whit sup consistent tới F5 thôi, F#5 và G5 mình thấy bị high larynx
@@hanhnguyenthi8003 đúng thật , Whitney supported note cao nhất là đến F5 nhưng về head voice thì phải nói là amazing
