Anybody else watching this in 2022. I don’t know why but this exact song popped into my head for some nostalgic reason and so it prompted me to look it up and that’s how I got here. Listening to this song again after not hearing this for years really sent a rushing wave of nostalgia over me. Sheeeeesh Motion City was a one of a kind band back in the day. Since they’ve been broken up for about 5 years now, all we have are memories like this amazing heavy-layered comforting song.
Everything will be alright. If not now, they will be eventually. Thank you Motion City for such a timeless track that will be remembered for years to come.
Same i just randomly remembered "let's get fucked up and die" and now I'm here lol
Bro they are literally playing @ slam dunk I'm the UK in a few months and were JUST touring america. You sleeping? Get on it!
@@benfennell6842 shame I have no of way of getting there. Tickets are probably sold out. I really wanted to see them live as I'm in the UK myself
@@obnu tickets aren't sold out yet
@@benfennell6842 by the time I get payed they most likely will have sold out. Also don't know how to get the festival since I'm terrible at that sorta stuff, have no one to go with either
This song helped me with accepting my depression over 15 years ago, and still does wonders to this day. Such an amazing tune
Man I miss the days when FUSE used to play this and so many more great bands during the summer of 2005. So nostalgic for real
2005 was one of the best years for music in my life time
Armor for Sleep, Silverstein, Underøath, Atreyu
Yes that was my favorite channel. Loved warped Wednesdays
Dude fuse was the plug on great bands loved it
Zachary Dresch i completely agree thats how i found the editors n manchester orchestra an much more glad someone was as tuned in as i was lol
I saw these guys live. The dude on keyboard did a handstand on his keyboard. It was sick. My mate missed it. We watched the whole set waiting for him to do it again. He didn't . My mate never got over it :(
Your mate was in the bathroom giving handies
A lot of these aughts-era punk bands were weirdly athletic. I saw Yellowcard in '04, their violinist was doing BACKFLIPS all throughout the show!
His name is Jesse and he's a cool dude.
I remember he used to do the keyboard hand stand once a show (One year I saw MCS 8 times). Can’t blame him, it looked exhausting (he head banged/danced while playing most of the shows)
@@gabe_s_videos Okay but I am so glad someone else said this because holy shit someone playing violin and doing backflips was so insane to me and honestly it still is. Yellowcard is without a doubt my favorite band.
This song gives me straight dopamine and serotonin. Brings back a lot of good memories like watching this everyday on Fuse before class 🥰
As somebody who's struggled with depression their entire life, this song really speaks to me. The fake 'yeah I'm alright' s you have to give to people who don't or won't understand. The constant veil you wear just to go outside when it happens. This constant feeling of 'the world wants me to be fine so I HAVE to be fine'. This song got me through a lot when I was younger and quite a bit recently as well. And I'll always come back.
This also helps with the "fake it 'til you make it" approach to keeping level or trying to be happier along the way. Just the way this resonates and lets you know you're not alone helps me massively when I hear it.
Fun fact: Patrick Stump (Fall Out Boy singer) collaborated on this song, you can hear his voice in the final choruses 2:32
Wow! I was a senior in high school when this came out. I feel old as shit lol Not only do I relate to this, but I developed a very strong friendship with my therapist yrs ago in 2006 when this came out. The crazy thing is he looks a lot like the guy in the video, even smoked a pipe like him. Thankfully he saved my life years ago cause I was in a dark place back then, and this song was like reassurance that ''everything would be alright'' gave me peace of mind. He passed 5 yrs ago, but this song reminds me of him and still gives me peace of mind.
Reading comments like this about my favorite band makes me love them even more. Cheers buddy!
Glad you're doing alright! 2006 👍
This band is criminally underrated
Felonious
Maybe they should do some prison gigs ... it worked for Johnny Cash!
nah they are rated accurately
@@stratmatt22is this a hate comment?
truly! and one of the est tings about them is they sound just like this live
anthem for all those with anxiety, thanks for making this
Im struggling in recovery right now, Im 48 days sober from meth. this song helps a little
pipiligrama go fuck yourself at least they're trying you fucker
pipiligrama and you must be cancer given human form
Congratulations dude. Stay sober! Keep it up.
Pip must have been touched by a tweaker
It’s a song. You’re pathetic
i just bawl my eyes from nostalgia everytime i hear this. reminds me of my brother who i used to be so close. hes far away and living his life. im happy for him
The visuals during the instrumental perfectly represents that anxious feeling of caving in on yourself.
i'm not happy to say i've had that same feeling before...
I love how they bring awareness to mental health in a way in the song.
... thats most songs...
Dear nicole.
You were my big sister through that program and you didn't let me listen to NIN but you got me into MCS and the postal service. I know you're in the military and all but maybe you'll see this. Thank you~
This song beautifully captures what anxiety and depression feel like.
Keep going forward buddy! 💪
Also reminds me of that combined with adhd but that maybe because I have depression, anxiety and adhd and relate to this song heavily
Facts. Mine's pretty mild, but I can still relate to this song.
It reminds me of ocd and anxiety
It encapsulates what getting better at handling mental illness feels like
These dudes will be dearly missed.
right !!!
Yup. But at least they're going out on THEIR terms and with dignity, rather than hanging around for too long and then hardly anyone even cares about them anymore when they finally break up.
At the concert they did here last year, I got to get up on stage with them and sing Last Night and ended up stopping the concert part way through for my brother and I to thumb wrestle over who loved them more. They are the NICEST, most fun guys EVER! Matt Taylor
cyhfgj
I mean, he does have a new single album.
It’s 2020 and everything is not alright
shut up everything is alright
Yeah bruh didn't you hear doom eternal is free on game pass now bruh
Wrong song you want I’m not okay by my chemical romance loool
Haha, surprised to randomly see you comment here. Big fan of your channel!
@@hawasttimelikewater fuck you
I forgot how fantastic this entire album is. Frankly, I haven't really thought about music like this in around 10 years. But when I listened to this it was like seeing an old friend... What really surprised me is how *ALL* the lyrics came bubbling up like I never stopped listening.
This song randomly popped into my head during therapy today and I gave it a good listen walking back after, and I've listened again for the past hour since I got home... It really does make everything fine. Event after all these years.
The style of this band will always be phenomenal in my book.
I will always need Motion City Soundtrack in my life.
Growing up is learning MCS wrote an album that both younger me and older me love. When I listen to the bands I grew up with not many, maybe Say Anything is another, none of them really relate to what it feels like going through the adult everyday bullshit and struggles in a poetic, happy sounding way to turn my gloom upside down.
2024 we're still here!
Ayyyy 🎉
Hell yeahhh
Wooow!!
Yup! Still alright!
Yep! Still here!!
16 years later, and this is still my favorite song. Gets played all year every year!
Came back to this is 2022 one of those songs that truly brings me back to a time when everything truely felt fine in my life.
This song is so nostalgic, I heard this today for the first time in years and it really took me back, wow.
I'm so glad this music video is still online! This is the song and video that got me into MCS almost 20 years ago! If I hadn't been watching random music videos on Yahoo Music all that time ago I'd have never heard this amazing band!
Much love to you guys, and thanks for all the amazing music!
This song and especially the lyrics were ahead of it’s time. Way too underrated.
Damn, I remember when this came out when I was 15/16., still so damn good. This one’s a keeper 👍🏾
I saw their final show in Chicago. It was 2 hours+. By far the best show ever!!!!
As cliché as it sounds, this song comforts the hell out of me. I have never felt more paralleled to a song then this one. Long live MCS
Thankyou MLB the show for bringing me such great music throughout the years
Nostalgia and relatable lyrics aside, his voice always made me want to cry. The clarity of it, idk, it just always struck me.
in the 13 years ive listened to this song it has never gotten old
i still love everything about it to this day
10 years and this is still my jam
17 years later and this song is still a bop. Favorite song as of right now. I miss music like this. 👏❤️
I remember hearing this when it came out almost 20 years ago. I didn't really know what it was about at the time, but I felt a strong affinity for it. Now it makes sense.
Although I was living alone, the kindest person in the world was visiting me every weekend. Always so grateful. いつも本当に感謝してます🙇
MCS has a core base that will never fade away. They were the best in the pop punk scene and still are imo.
ITS BEEN 5 YEARS AND I JUST REMEMBERED THE BEAUTY OF A SONG
When I was a senior in High School I picked up playing the bass. I loved this song so much this was the first song I ever learned how to play. 'Til this day I warm up with this song before I start playing my bass because I love this song and can relate to every word.
Man living with OCD sucks. This song is something that does make it alright, because I relate to it
Same
Years later I have a kid two jobs and I'm 41 and I can't stress this enough! I MISS THE WARPED TOUR!! smh
For James Clare, a friend just visited his grave in Chatham Mass. after she left the grave this song came on the radio; She tells me this song was on James's Ipod and they used to talk about it in 2008/2009 - James passed in 2009 at 16 yrs old, we miss him every day.
sunday night football right before commercial break when they show the highlights, this was playing in the back ground, nov. 3rd 2024 ❤
The ultimate loser's ballad of redemption. It's given me so much strength.
Love the way you put it
damn i remember when i was a kid listening to this song but now it's relatable now that i'm older

I'll miss you guys more than you could ever know. Been a great ride MCS. All the best for the future.
One of my favorite bands from my teenage years. Now I'm an adult blasting it in the car 😄
Really gonna miss this band. This and My Dinosaur Life are up there with my favourite pop punk records. No bias towards Hoppus, but you don't need to be a genius to figure out his experience and success helped propel these guys to a level they wouldn't have expected.
I saw these guys at Warped 2013. I was down at the Kia stages waiting for another band to come on, so when these guys took the adjacent stage I turned and watched and my god I was amazed. Best accidental band discovery ever.
Awesome story, I'm bout to see them in VIP in February!
I went to Vans warped tour 2013 in San Antonio, i remember these guys and others. Cool show
This song takes me back to the days of MLB ‘06: The Show. By far my favorite song on the soundtrack.
Possibly one of my favorite games as a kid. Loved the soundtrack
Saints row
i just recently heard this song...crazy...its from 2005 or 06 i think? Im a huge fan of Dashboard Confessional, Taking Back Sunday, Hawthorne Heights, etc yet never heard of this band really or this song. I still love this music even though I am 42 now. It sure takes me back to being younger in my 20's....some of the best times of my life!
I remember recording this on my play-it-now from my tv's headphone jack when it played on Fuse. I was 12 back then, I'm 23 now. Time flies. I still play this song when I get upset. I don't know if MCS ever reads these comments, but man, I'm sure going to miss them.
This song sent me down a path of music that saved my life ❤️ when I was 15
Saw these guys back in 2004 supporting Blink 182 in Italy. Audience was lame, they were booing at these guys. I fell in love with them. After 8 years from this album this song still sounds so great. I remember this being the most played on my windows media player for a lot of years. Good times.
Nothing I hate more than disrespectful crowds. If I was blink I'd have really let the crowd have it when it was my turn on stage
@@natalie_rose2861 Blink members were barely talking to each other at the time (thats when they were insanely speeding tracks to finish earlier the concerts) so there wasnt a lot of chat as usual. Also, they were the one with stones and bottle thrown at them in 2000 in bologna when they played in a festival after limp bizkit. They played 4 songs and had to leave the stage that time (event was Independent days festival, you can find some clips on YT).you can always find stupid folks in italian crowds
Did blink dedication a song to them or vice versa this song sounds like blink 182 song
@@swordsmanzolo7119 sounds like Blink mostly cause Mark Hoppus produced the whole record, Commit This to Memory. He is also featured on a song, Hangman, and you can clearly see Mark's face in this video as one of the singer's visions :)
Was that mark hoppus's fave jn the ceiling? Speaking of blink
"Everything Is Alright"
Tell me that you're alright,
Yeah everything is alright.
Oh please tell me that you're alright,
Yeah everything is alright.
Give me a reason to end this discussion,
To break with tradition.
To fold and divide.
Cause I hate the ocean, theme parks and airplanes,
Talking with strangers, waiting in line..
I'm through with these pills that make me sit still.
"Are you feeling fine?"
Yes, I feel just fine.
Tell me that you're alright,
Yeah everything is alright.
Oh please tell me that you're alright,
Yeah everything is alright.
I'm sick of the things I do when I'm nervous
Like cleaning the oven or checking my tires
Or counting the number of tiles in the ceiling..
Head for the hills, the kitchen's on fire!
I used to rely on self-medication,
I guess I still do that from time to time.
But I'm getting better at fighting the future,
"Someday you'll be fine.."
Yes, I'll be just fine.
Tell me that you're alright,
Yeah everything is alright.
Oh please tell me that you're alright,
Yeah everything is alright.
Give me a reason (I don't believe a word)
To end this discussion (of anything I've heard)
To break with tradition (they tell me that it's not so hard)
To fold and divide (it's not so hard)
So let's not get carried (away with everything)
Away with the process (from here to in-between)
of elimination (the long goodbye)
I don't want to waste your time.
Tell me that you're alright,
Yeah everything is alright.
Oh please tell me that you're alright,
Yeah everything is alright.
(Alright)
Tell me that you're alright, (Hi, everything's great)
Yeah everything is alright. (Everything's fine)
Oh please tell me that you're alright, (Hi, everything's great)
Yeah everything is alright.
(Everything's fine) [x4]
Do you know how long I've been trying to figure out that one part near the end? Its 2022 and now I know it.
Yeah! Time to sing in the shower! Haha! Just kidding.
Had a rough couple of weeks and this song really got me through it. Everything was indeed not alright, and I had a good cry, but I got through it!
How have I not heard of this band until today!?!? thanks Pandora!
This has got to be top 5 songs all time
Its June 2020 and at the moment, for me at least, everything is alright.
EVERYTHING'S FINE!
@@mr.k7457 yeah not really
August here !
Really glad I'm not the only one still listening to this after all this time, this song has been stuck in my head all day
Lucky you
This is the only song I can listen to 7 years in a row and not get tired of it.
8 years later are you tired yet?

My fucking favorite band and I finally get to see them this year at warped. I'm so pumped.
favorite band of all time and I was going to see them at warped too but I couldn't make it. I'm jealous!
one of my fav. bands. saw them pass through my town during the 10 year anniversary tour for this album last summer. they were incredible.
2020 and I’m still listening to this song from 20 years ago. So fucking good
seansora some of the best music ever. I’ll always find my way back around to Motion City and others of their era. Sometimes going back in time with music helps remind you of things you got through that you swore you never could. Which makes you feel like you can get through anything.

MOTION CITY FOREVER IN MY HEART
This was my MySpace song in 2007 when I was 16. I'm 33 now and my son was playing a song that sounded similar. All I could remember was 'tell me that you're alright' and it brought me here. Oh to be 16 again.
I didn't understand this song when I was younger. Now it's my jam- "I hate the ocean, theme parks and airplanes, talking to strangers, waiting in line. I'm through with these pills that make me sit still, yes I'm doing fine, I'll be just fine ." Damn right.
I remember bumping this in my headphones while walking to school, and singing this song at the top of my longs. I guess you could say, “Time Turned Fragile”
oh we wouldve been good friends
Sooo many good memories! Just from one track :'D My goodness!
Favorite songs of all time!Wat Motion City Soundtrack is known for!!Love them!!
It’s 2023 and I’m refreshing on all the bands at the “when we were young tour”! See you guys in Vegas in Oct!
Yearsssss ago in highschool this song actually saved me from a horrible trip. It felt like this song was being sung to me and only me lol love this song still ❤
I was 12 when this came out, I’m turning 25 on Monday and this song is still amazing 🤘🏾
hello soon to be 26 years guy
Hey we're the same age. I remember this was my friends MySpace song lol. Can't believe this video has only 3.8m views
This was uploaded on here when this video was still playing on Fuse.

Commit To This Memory is ten years old today, go city soundtrack!!!
Just saw them last night at Ace of Spades! Such a treat to see them again :D
I'm kind of sad because I heard this on the radio today, and I remembered how much I loved this band and how I "grew out "of them. But I realized that really, now I love them more than ever because I can actually relate to the lyrics. Damn son.

Here in 2024, still rocking myself to peace using this song. Thanks for keeping me sane since i was 14.
I think these guys UNDERSTAND A LOT!
mark hoppus produced the album. he also sings on hangman. definitely MCS's best album. Takes me back to when I was 14 touring around in a box truck with my best friends.

Realising that I had anxiety that I was masking with OCD thought-loops for years and losing so many days not embracing every moment. Thanks to meditation, I finally feel free inside myself again, I finally do feel alright. The lines in this song 'I'm sick of the things I do when I'm nervous', my God, you never realise what they're talking / singing about until you're an adult yourself. Classic track, heard this when I was a teen playing Saints Row on Xbox!
