Motion City Soundtrack performing Everything Is Alright, live at Factory Theatre in Sydney on 28 February 2013
They've worked with Blink 182 and Fallout Boy, toured the world and boast a fanbase that redefine the term 'die-hard'. They're Motion City Soundtrack and they're our new Gig Of The Week.
Running hot on the heels of their appearances at the colossal Soundwave Festival, the Minnesota five-piece treated fans to the perfect slice of poetic pop-punk at Sydney's Factory Theatre. With every word echoed by the crowd, the band dove deep into latest album 'Go' and their back catalogue including fan favourites like 'My Favorite Accident', 'L.G. FUAD' and 'Hold Me Down'. Boy-girl dramas and over-self-analysis never sounded so fun -- or infectious.

It's 2022 and this album is still one of the best and most original pop punk albums in history. I was 21 when this came out and the cd was on repeat in my Acura Integra every day. God the nostalgia is heavy with this track.

@@JordanGreene27 Currently wearing my 'Rise Against' shirt that I've had since middle school (roughly 15 years ago...yes, it still fits, as does several others from back then.) and now I'm sad that my MCS shirt got lost in a move. It was in the same box as my Dropkick Murphys baseball top...I'd kill to have those back, best bands ever and lost my original run merch...
Still go back to all those bands, and MCR, AntFarm, BFS, AAR, AFI, Coheed...yeah, I'm still "emo" in 2021, what of it? That's the best music since Billy Joel, Zep, Rush and that era of rock'n'roll hung it up/lost it.

I was never huge on this band back in the day; I'm more of a metalhead. But I love a good singing chorus. Even if you're more partial to a different type of music, these guys fucking killed it here. Even if it's only a crowd of 1,500 people singing your lyrics back at you, that's still the thing of dreams for a musician. Great band.
I heard this song on saints row when I was in elementary school. Back then I didn't have access to lyrics as easy as I do now. I remember grabbing a notepad and writing down the song bit by bit. I'm happy to admit I had access to a load of great music as a kid
